Spence Bennett never imagined he’d find someone who would love and accept him for who he was, but all of that changed when he met Hunter Westing. By day, they work to survive in the crime-ridden city of Darkvale. But at night, Spence and Hunter hit the streets as the masked vigilantes: Sync and Orion.
While they’re busy targeting mob bosses and drug deals, another shadow moves through the city—a dangerous man known only as imposter X and Spence promised to help the man in exchange for his life. If he doesn’t follow through, the man will hurt Hunter. Possibly kill him.
Hunter Westing would do anything to protect Spence from Darkvale and his own the violent urges. The only way to relieve them are through their kinky sex-life and bashing in kneecaps of local criminals. But when the man that both threatened and saved Spence’s life calls in a favor, Hunter doesn’t have a choice but to obey.
Can Spence and Hunter free themselves from imposter X’s web of intrigue, or is their love weaker their enemies’ lies?

We see the story of Spence and Hunter as they become Sync and Orion to save the city of Darkvale. The events in this book take place at the same time as Titan Unleashed, so we witness things from another perspective. The intense scenes between Spence and Hunter were hot. But these 2 were idiots keeping secrets from each other which Imposter X was using to manipulate them. I was sadden by the ending. I am hoping Spence and Hunter team up with Calder and Patrick in the remainder series. It would be cool reading the next book of the series with 4 POVs. Also I need those books very soon, I am not good at waiting lol.
Back to the secondary couple of Spencer (Sync) and Hunter (Orion/Black Savage), and it very quickly becomes apparent that both boys are even less mature than originally thought and are easy prey for the predator that is the "imposter X." This book runs parallel to Darkvale book 3 and mirrors some of the same events in that book. Not as good as the previous books, and almost has a nightmarish quality to it with the boys being stalked and played with by "imposter X." Generally frustrating with lack of plot movement and Spencer having a panic attack every time his parents are mentioned. Still, on the whole, a great series.
Really interesting series with unique superhero MC's that are truly perfectly imperfect (at least perfect for each other). I know them as the "Darkvale" series but a couple also go under "Broken Heroes." There are 4 books out and a short: 1 - Titan in Chains 2 - Hunter and Hunted 3 - Titan Unleashed 3.5 - Trick or Treat 4 - Sync and Shadows
I've read the first 3 books. The books flip-flop between Patrick/Calder and Spence/Hunter and I will resume read more once the 3rd book about Patrick/Calder comes out (which should hopefully be book #5? and soon!).
