THE COMPLETE SERIES, over 250,000 words. 5 books and NO cliffhangers!Book 1: WrathWhen I told my former marine commanding officer that I would be happy to accept a job with his security firm, I never realized what I was signing on for. Nash never said that we were protecting some little socialite just because her daddy upset a local mafia kingpin. Not only does this chick have zero sense of survival, she’s like a walking magnet for trouble. She’s hot. She’s entitled. And I have a feeling that she’s hiding some things.Book 2: CarsonGet in. Do the job. Get out. That’s what my boss told me and that’s what I intended to do. But it’s really hard to do the job I was sent to do when the first thing my client does is slam the door in my face. Although to be fair, she isn’t my client. Her uncle is the client and she’s just the poor sap that got tagged for death because of some idiot move her uncle made. It all sounds pretty unfair. Right?Book 3: AnaliseBabysitting spoiled rich boys is the stock and trade of every bodyguard. What I cannot figure out is why this one rubs me the wrong way. Ralston is smart, handsome, and so entitled that it makes me want to rip my hair out. Sometimes though he will really surprise me and that’s when I start to get a little worried about these weird feelings going on somewhere in the middle of my chest.Book 4: QuentinThere are not many women who could survive what Francesca has been through without losing their sanity. I should know. I spent years as a military interrogator in the Middle East. My time in the marines left me with a huge case of PTSD and an intimate relationship with violence. The first time I saw Francesca smile I knew that I would use every tool in my personal arsenal to keep this woman safe. When Stedman Hyde-Pierson filed a court order claiming that he needed to be named Francesca’s guardian due to her fragile mental state, I took up her cause with every bone in my body.Book 5: NashA career marine with multiple tours of duty through the Middle East under his belt should not be run ragged by a socialite from Boston. Of course, if Ava Harte had run US military operations, the war effort would have been on schedule and under budget. Ava is an incredible woman. I was hired by her ex-husband to protect her, but it didn’t take long for Ava to take command of the situation. Now we know that her ex-husband is the villain in this story. We just can’t be certain how to end his intimidation tactics and foul play for good.
The book, or bundle, wasn't bad, but it didn't feel right either. I think that after reading a bunch of security romance novels, or romantic suspense, whatever, it was a little frustrating to see a bunch of experts making basic mistakes. It's usual for this kind of books for the bodyguard to fall for his charge, but in this case it was just too much, I can get over the bad guy making all those stupid mistakes and feeling untouchable, but the way the others managed the situation was lacking. There were too many errors or things that they should have seen faster. I mean, their lives were in danger, but it felt like they didn't take anything seriously, missing all the clues and the inconsistencies.
Wraith
This is the typical bodyguard - client situation. He is a cynical military guy with zero patience for civilians, and she is a spoiled rich girl that it's more than you see. There are some misunderstandings, some problems because of the idea each one has about the other one, but their chemistry can't be denied and at the end, when they finally see each other for who they really are, things work just fine between them.
Carson
Carson and Kayla are another of those unlikely couples. Once again we have the typical bodyguard-charge love. This time the threat is different, since it quickly makes sense why they would want her dead. What I don't like is how they don't follow up on what's going on with her, they give a lot of information and then just leave it to the side. Her romance with Carson is different, but makes more sense.
Analise
Another bodyguard falling for her target, even after making mistakes and thinking that the person is not worthy. It's a very similar scenario to what happened in the first book, only with the gender roles reversed. There were a lot of stuff that just didn't make sense in this one, especially with the stuff between Ralston and his father. And Analise was a very annoying character most of the time.
Quentin
This one is about the aunt, a woman that was a very good friend of Ava, and ended up marrying the bad guy's brother, and Quentin, another one of Nash's men. He is super protective, and she is a mess, but they understand each other, and using Quentin's support and help, she starts getting stronger and losing her fears, allowing her to face her fears.
Nash
In this one we explore the relationship between Nash, the boss of the security guys, and Ava, the matriarch of the family. It's complicated because they both know they like each other, but even if Ava is willing to explore the relationship, Nash thinks it's inappropriate and avoids her, but it doesn't really work, and as you expect, they finally end up together. In this book is also when all the issues with Ava's ex-husband are finally solved, but the work is so sloppy, and the resolutions so messy, that it left me very disappointed. They finally find out some things that were very obvious from the start, and somehow they manage to come up with a very complicated and unnecessary plan that still manages to backfire. Not the best ending to the saga, but at least is finally over.
I chuffed through this series, thankfully on my unlimited account, as I read the stories I couldn't believe that these supposed intelligent people could be so dumb. I worked out the base of the storyline before the end of book 1. Admittedly there were a few twists and turns but I felt fairly irritated that the security team seemed to have their brains permanently lodged in their pants. Fairly disappointed
I liked that this entire collection could be opened and read one right after the other but towards the second or third book, I felt like I was just making myself finish it because I started it. The things I liked were how the author tied all of the characters together and once introduced, they stayed with the story until the end. Things I didn't like: the security firm was all former Marines who were bumbling idiots who thought with their pants and should have figured out what I did by the end of the first book. I hated the fact that once this person was out of danger, they were still in the story but poof...everything was fine. There was such potential to flesh out the storyline to be amazing...and it wasn't. The crooks were stupid, the heros were stupid, the FBI was corrupt and stupid, and all the falling into bed, fighting feelings, then happily ever after was hard to believe.
This is a good series Nash security go on a job to protect a family from death threats but get embroiled in lots of drama with the man who initially hired them and the Russian mafia. All of Nash's security team end up falling in love with the family member that they are protecting and each one falls hard including Nash himself. There is a lot of intrigue and double dealing going on and bent F B I officers everyone seems to be trying to rip each other off. Really interesting storyline and lots of hot sex thrown in, thoroughly good read.
I loved this series of books. The fact that you had a group of people come to the aid of a family and then in turn that group fell so hard and fast for that family just made my mind swirl. From Wrath and Tegan to finally Jason and Ava who I would find their happy ending. This story was so interesting that I just couldn't put it down. Thank you Lola for writing an incredible seies. Looking forward to reading more of your work.
I am a huge fan of Lola Silvermans'. I enjoyed this series for the most part, however I felt that some of the scenes languished. There was a repetitive nature in the characters actions and activities. I often can't put down a Silverman book, but I found I was finding it difficult to keep interested in the storyline at points during this series. I won't give up on Silverman, she's a great author, but not with the Nash series.
It was very difficult to suspend disbelief for the entirety of this collection. Too much insta-love and the conclusion of the 'suspenseful' plot line was weak and left too many unanswered questions. A good editor may could have helped tie the threads together and caught the typos and incorrect vocabulary.
Was nice to find another author that puts the full series into a bundle, loved it, from beginning to end, lol and found it pretty cool that they allo pretty much married intuitive the same family, well written and fun, thank you will look forward to reading more books by lola in future :)
One of the best series I have read. The characters were so real and interesting. Storyline kept me turning pages.👍 I loved that each character was so defined and they all took part with each other. And yet the reader quickly got to know each character.👍
The entire series as a whole is adventurous, preposterous, and downright awesome. I don't think I would read each seperate book. I don't like series and this read more like a follow through full length novel.
I loved all the books in this series, however frankie's story was my favourite. I group of ex marines meet their match with the people they are there to protect and fall in love while bringing down the bad guy. Well worth the read
Was fun interesting book. Only reason for 4 stars was in the package format it was a little formula towards the end but definitely a good series to read
This book took me ages to read as to be honest got a bit bored with it, but felt I should finish it to see if there was a build up. The stories although great because you could read the whole series at once didn't hold my interest, just didn't seem to flow right.
The first three books had me hooked. Once I got to book four the stories were becoming repetitious. The books are good but not the best. There's also some misprint you have to look over.
