This is not a romantic love story this is a story of survival,of trust and mostly important about how to rinse above the ashes. Charlotte had a horibble lajf and when finally escapes from the evil, she founds herself between strangers but they are full of love and suport and help. Beau is a strange guy I must admit that, but still trying to cope with himself, his suffer and his job. He is not a cliched alpha male and I'm so thankful for that . He is mysterious and irritating but with his heart in the right place.
Harlot is extremly well writen story, with characters you just must love and captivating till the end. The ending of the story is pure perfection and now I know: life really is a circle and all starts and ends with..... (read for yourself and you'll know what i mean)
I've read a few of this authors books and loved them. I couldn't want to read this one and the author didn't disappoint me as I loved this story.
I've gotta say I love the cover :)
Charlotte is a great heroine. She's been through so much yet she's so strong. I was so rooting she'd find happiness. When she meets Beau they hate each other. Can they get past the hatred and start trusting each other?
I read this book in one sitting. I seriously couldn't put it down. If your looking for an intense read that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat then I highly recommend you read this gem. I loved it.
"What happens when you're tired of just surviving?" I said not expecting an answer. "You start living, Charlotte. You set your own rules, you have dreams and goals, and you reach for them. What you're doing right now is existing. There's a big difference."
I've read Tracie's books before but this one was slightly different from what I'm used to with reading her stories. Tracie always had that 'suck me right into' writing style and with time she managed to increase that.
I was totally captivated by Harlot. She is one of those heroines that you want to protect from all the evil she had to live with and to help her to cope with the future ones. But there are some lovely people determined to help her and one of them is Beau (love the name). Now, he is a hero that walks around all dark and moody and you want to know all his secrets (and belive me, he has some). He intruiged me, I admit.
Somewhere around that 'message being found' the story became even more interesting! I got those twists and turns that I love so much. Everything was just perfect.
Absolutely amazing writing, this book grabbed me from the start and didn't let go. I've fallen in love with Tracie Podger's fluid writing style, her words come together effortlessly.
The title will fool you. I went in thinking a certain way. I mean, Harlot is the title, right? This was totally different than I expected. I was on the edge of my seat throughout. This isn't a romance, but I actually was hoping for a bit, just a smidgen. But, when I closed the book and thought of the hard times and devastations that lead Charlotte and Beau together, it wouldn't have made the book realistic. I love that the author stayed true to each and every one of the characters. It just made sense. I'm hoping for a novella... I'd love to see how things end up for Beau and Charlotte. Enemy to friends. Banter. Back and forth. I love that stuff. And these two have the chemistry to be a great couple.
The story as times can be hard to chew, some of the dark scenes are hard to stomach. The suspense will keep you on your toes and the characters will make you fall in love. I'm all about mystery and this book had the edge that I needed. I loved this book from start to finish!!!!
He was my commander, when I was in the regular army. Then he was my commander when I joined the irregular army.
One stare from him, Charlotte, and any child would fall immediately into submission. He was evil, and that evilness rolled off him like a gas, contaminating everything and everyone around.
My Review:
“Charlotte the Harlot” was how her cousin/guardian would taunt her. Some guardian! Coming from the title and synopsis – this exceptionally well-written and cunningly crafted book was not at all what I expected. Although sex crimes are mentioned, there were no actual sex scenes within the pages. And while some may find that completely incongruous for a book titled Harlot, let me assure you that sex was not needed to sell this gripping read.
The plot was rife with mind prickling suspense and curiosity tickling intrigue. The characters were compellingly detailed yet cryptically tight-lipped and holding secrets from each other. I was unsure whom to trust throughout much of the book as they were each artfully skilled in evasion, and no one was who they seemed. I feared Charlotte was either being manipulated, set-up, or used as bait, although I was also a bit frustrated by her forked tongue as well.
The writing was keenly observant, gut-twisting, and emotionally intense on every level. I was quickly ensnared by Ms. Podger’s word voodoo and immediately fell into Charlotte’s narrative from page one. Written in an insightful and sharply detailed first person POV, the storyline was eventful, well-paced, and enthralling. Ms. Podger’s writing was riveting, first-rate, and likely to lead to sleep deprivation. In conclusion, Tracie Podger is a remarkably gifted evil genius. I am in awe of her mad skills, and maybe a little bit afraid of her now as well.
Having only discovered this brilliant author in 2016 with the 5* Gabriel and A Deadly Sin, I was over the moon to read Harlot, which I devoured in just a day. Once started Harlot is definitely not a book that can be put down to carry on later.
Firstly I will start with the hauntingly stunning cover that I pictured throughout this book; they say a picture paints a thousand words and this cover said it all and prepared me for this amazing and gripping thriller.
Charlotte Kenny is a brave and strong 19 year old (she thinks) who is forced into prostitution at the age of 14 when her grandmother dies and her cruel and vicious cousin becomes her guardian.
Charlotte stole my heart and I wanted to wrap her in my arms and protect her. There are such interesting characters good and bad but my absolute favourites are Aunt Cecelia and the wonderful Kieran and Rose, even the grumpy and tough guy Beau Mercier became a favourite eventually.
Tracie Podger is a genius at storytelling and Harlot goes to the top of my favourites for 2017 and I am sure it will stay there.
I not only highly recommend the brilliantly written Harlot, but also Gabriel and A Deadly Sin which if you haven’t yet read, treat yourself. Can’t wait for more.
I volunteered to read this book and give an honest review.
"We were two damaged people, thrown into worlds that we had to fight to survive in."

Book Review - Harlot by Tracie Podger - 4 and a half The Little Things Mean So Much Stars
A book cover can draw the eye, break your heart and tell a story you want to read all before you have turned a page. Such was the case when I saw the stunning cover of Harlot. I knew I wasn’t in for an easy ride, I knew that our heroine had a hard story to tell, so I pulled up my big girl panties and jumped right in. One thing I can guarantee for you is the words are just as good as the cover.
Charlotte hasn’t had an easy life. From the moment her Grandma died, her life has very much been on a downward slide. When things go from bad to worse, she attempts to run away from the storm and find something better.
But as the phrase goes, you don’t have to go looking for trouble, it will find you, and in this case people don’t want to let Charlotte go. And so starts our game of cat and mouse…….
You have to feel for Charlotte and all she’s gone through, and yet, she can still accept that there is kindness in others, and accept a much needed helping hand. She’s also not lost all of the fight within and gives as good as she gets in her verbal volleys with the often cranky Beau.
If you’ve come looking for a dark romance, then this is not that story. That’s not to say this book is without love. As you know, love comes in many forms and can flow from many directions. This is a book set in a dark world where you get to see life’s occasional rainbows.
And that, dear reader is as much as I’m going to tell you. This book is like a sleeve with a loose thread, you give it a little pull and the rest starts to unravel.
This is a standalone book in a series of interlocking characters. If you don’t get the end that you forsee, well you’ll just have to see who pops up in the next one.
I’ve felt like I had hit a book funk recently with books just not dragging me in, but I assure you less than 24 hours later (with a working day in the middle of those 24) I had devoured this book. This was an effortless read for me, with just one pivotal moment where I perhaps longed for more, more of a stutter before an action took place, more of a pause because of the history of them, and that’s why it’s not a five star read. Because to me it was nearly perfect and you know what a hard lady I am to please.
Fans of thrillers, dark lite and those of you just willing to take a gamble outside of your normal genre, please one click and read. You won’t be disappointed.

My words are failing me. This book twisted my mind so many times I was dizzy. I've come out of the end of this book not knowing if I'm upside down, inside out or the right way round… All of this is a GOOD thing!!! The delicate web that has been woven here was just out of this world. I thought I had it figured out .. hell I've read enough books in these genres to figure them out right? Wrong on every count. Tracie has brought a whole new original concept to what she wrote in this book and my head is mashed up. Even now I'm sat here scratching my head trying to work out the words that give this book the credit it deserves and I'm not sure anyone ever could unless you read it. Then you will understand what I'm talking about and you really really should get your click finger out for this epic release by a very talented author.
I swear I heard the author laughing at me in parts. She knew what she had done she knew where people would expect this to go and knew that no one would ever work out the tangled spaghetti that is the storyline.
The storyline is perfectly thought out and executed and I can't see or think of a single way it can or could have been improved. It's flawless in every which sense from the plots all tied up nicely to the beautiful flow of the writing. It's action packed from beginning to end.. don't blink or you'll miss it!
The characters are excellent every single one of them is perfectly thought out and written down well. Even with that said there are more surprises that come from the characters and not just the storyline itself although obviously they are interlinked. Argh it's so hard to write this down!
This book is absolutely going to be on my top 10 of 2017 I won't forget it in a hurry. It leaves a lasting impression and your thinking about it long after you have finished reading. You can't help it.
Don't sit there reading this review.. buy it right now and read it I promise you won't be disappointed with the content.
Yes, yes and YES! This right here is my perfect dark book. Dark to the extent of crawling under your skin and then into your heart. I adored every word on every page!
From the first page, the suspense was full throttle. Meeting a young girl on an awful situation, who seemed less phased than she should about what she just went through....it told me the reader, she had already been through so much worse...
Excerpt: I should have called the police, I should have checked for signs of life. I should have done a lot of things, other than the one I did - I opened the front door and ran.
With the fear of her someone after her and fear of being charged with a murder that wasn't her fault, she runs...to a town who know more about her than they admit. But building back her life, away from fear would not be easy with the treat of judgement from one of the first people who met her...Beau.
Excerpt: It was only when I slept, or dozed, that I lived a wonderful life, that I had dreams and hopes. There were times I wished I could keep my eyes closed forever and escape into my make-believe world. In that world I was at school, I had friends that dud the mock me, and clothes that fit. My body and my hair were always clean and smelled of fresh meadows. I was loved, and I felt secure.
Charlotte struggles to accept what she has been subjected to. The horrors no one can understand. But this incredibly strong young woman stops at nothing to regain control, a commodity she hasn't ever had whilst under the control of her cousin.
Excerpt: "What happens when you're tired of just surviving?" I said not expecting an answer. "You start living, Charlotte. You set your own rules, you have dreams and goals, and you reach for them. What you're doing right now is existing. There's a big difference."
Naturally Charlotte's past catches up with her and the fall out is devastating. But setting cogs in motion over who she should trust and for reasons she has no idea over, the story gets a lot more twisted! Her relationship with Beau developing with every turn.
This story completely captured my attention and I finished it in less than 24 hours. The subjects handled were beyond dark, horrific and purely shocking but the author did an incredible job at making it feel eerily real, horrific and all round unforgettable. An incredible story that I won't forget anytime soon.
Final excerpt: We were two damaged people, throw into worlds that we had to fight to survive in. We'd seen, and done, some terrible things, separately, and together. A bond had formed between us in that moment. One that would be tested over time, I had no doubt.
Tracie really didn't disappoint with this book, this is one author that I follow and read books by.
This book will grab you right from the start and will not let you go until you have finished it.
Harlot is a young woman that has been through so much in her very short life, some things that you would never wish on your worst enemy, but she proves that she could overcome these things and it made her stronger.
If you want a dark and moody man, then Beau is the man for you. He is perfectly suited to Harlot, and is her saviour in more than ways than one.
I really recommend reading this book if you love dark themes, Tracie never disappoints.
****A copy was given in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.****
This is my First read of Tracie Podger but going off this book it won't be my last. Harlot was dark and gritty and surprised the hell out of me. I'll be honest at first i wasn't sure what to make of this read but the more i read the more i devoured it and couldn't put it down. It was intense as it was gritty with twists and turns i never saw coming.
Charlotte runs away from an horrific life she was forced into. After her Nan dies her cousin comes out of the wood work and gets custody and in turn destroys her life. Forcing her into prostitution to fuel his drug and alcohol addiction. After a fateful night she runs.
When Beau spots Charlotte running away he offers her a lift in to the next town but they soon find the selfs thrown together and all really is not what it seems in this little o'l town.
Both characters intrigued me for different reasons, Charlotte had so much strength about her she didn’t takes fools lightly. Beau on the other hand came across a bit harsh and rash but you get the feeling there is so much more to him and there is!! But what a great characters to read about.
All really isn't what it seems with this read all i can say is if like me you find your self unsure stick at it, it really is worth it.
I was kindly provided with an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review. I have given it 5 stars!!
I am a huge fan of Tracie and I believe that she has truly outdone herself with Harlot.
This book is quite dark with elements that some readers might find a little bit too dark but for me, really add to the power of the story. I found I couldn't put it down, it was just so captivating!! She manages to bring to life the characters and their stories, making you feel like you really know these people. I really felt for Charlotte, what she has to endure would have broken a lesser woman. Instead she picks herself up, dusts herself down and starts her life anew in the next town over. I really admired her strength and loved watching her character morph from a victim into this new scary life, flourishing like never before. My heart broke for her and then soared for her as she found herself.
Beau truly was an ass but as you get to know more about him, you understand the motive behind his actions. He made for a rather frustrating and interesting read. I wanted to hug him and give him a clip around the head all at the same time.
Tracie just seems to have this way with words that just seem to flow so effortlessly and pull you in, making you want to read until the very end.
So go ahead and one click this! You won't regret it.
Riveting! The first word that came to my mind when I finished reading Harlot by Tracie Podger. Tired is the second because I have to go to work and I didn’t have any sleep—I couldn’t put the book down.
Abandoned by her mother as an infant Charlotte (the Harlot) is now on the run. She is nineteen, she thinks, maybe twenty. She isn’t sure. Charlotte was raised by her grandmother until her grandmother died and sent her life spiraling down in the pits of despair. Ultimately, events happen that set her to run away from the abuse and pain to a place where she finds some older women who want to help her and give her hope that her life can be more.
This story made my heart ache at times. Charlotte’s pain is so real and heart-wrenching that my stomach churned or fell throughout the story. The character is strong which makes the reader hopeful too. Charlotte is the type of character that won’t let my eyes leave the book for a second.
The secondary characters are well done too. A little mystery surrounds every character making it hard to know all the motives behind their actions. The two elderly women, pseudo-grandmothers, are loving and kind. They know Charlotte is troubled and help anyway. Beau has all sorts of secrets that reveal gradually.
Harlot is my first Tracie Podger book, so I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading. What I found is exactly what I love to read. The story unfolds at a perfect pace. There aren't any slow or weak moments. Everything that happens has a purpose that keeps the reader’s attention.
Tracie Podger is an excellent writer. I can’t believe this is the first book I found by her. I love mystery and suspense and Harlot didn’t lack in these areas. It is the suspense and trying to figure out who is good and who isn’t that kept me turning the page. With each new page, I question the motives of the various characters. Are they really who they seem? Is this person going to break Charlotte? Will she ever get away from all the evil that surrounds her?
Harlot is my perfect reading experience. The book is a standalone told from Charlotte’s point of view. Charlotte’s story is complete and satisfying; however, there feels like there can be more to the story if Ms. Podger is so inclined in the future. I recommend Harlot to my fellow fans of suspense. You will love it I’m sure. I immediately one-clicked a couple more Tracie Podger books because I enjoyed this book so much. Great Job!
Harlot was my first read from Tracie Podger and I really went in blind. I was originally asked to do some teasers for the book and I really didn’t pay much attention to the genre or even the blurb before I started it. I was quite surprised when I realized that this was not a romance but a straight forward thriller type read. Although the romance lover in me had me dreaming big dreams for Charlotte and Beau.
Charlotte Kenny is forced into prostitution and when a client ends up dead, she’s finally given a chance to escape her tragic life. Enter Beau. The man who finds this wild, rain soaked girl on the side of the road. When he brings her to the small little town he calls home, Charlotte begins to make a life for herself, one far away from the dirt she came from. But the past is lurking just around the corner and although Beau is hiding his own secrets, just like the town they live in, Charlotte’s past returns – ready to make her pay for her escape.
This was such a surprising read. I really did go into this without any idea of what I’d be reading and I was so hopeful that a romance could spark from within the pages, but I loved the friendship that Charlotte and Beau had. I was on the edge of my seat through most of this book and was taken by surprise by the turn the story did take towards the end.
A fantastic read and without a doubt, it won’t be my only title from this author that I will enjoy.
I am a huge Tracie Podger fan. Ive read all of her books and every time I see new one releasing I get excited to see what she will bring us next. Harlot was no different. The cover is brilliant and after reading the story, you realise how fitting the cover is. We get thrown right into the story, as is Tracie's way. She pulls you right into the story from page 1 and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole book.
Charlotte is a a heroine you can feel for and you just want to end up with her HEA. She finds it hard to realise that there are actually good people in the world after everything she has been through. This book can be read as a standalone but part of the story/characters overlap with Gabriel and A Deadly Sin. With knowing that, you know that not everyone is to be trusted or things arent always as they seem.
Another fantastic story from Tracie. I cant wait to see what else she brings us in the future and where this series will go!!
What happens when the one person who has loved you and raised you dies? Your too young to take care of yourself and get assigned to a guardian/ your cousin that you do not know? Charlotte is a young lady in that predicament. The title of the book kind of lets you know what happens, but this book is so much more.
The author has a way with words that make them just flow, I didn't want to put down my kindle. Even after being in a book funk, I can always find that I can devour one of her books.
Charlotte's story is not a happy one, if you have read Gabriel or Deadly Sin then you will know that nothing is as it seems, who can you trust? I didn't initially pick up on the links to the other two books until right to the end of the book, which means that is great as a standalone.
I wouldn't call this a dark romance, romance isn't really a factor when your trying to escape from your pimp. At times I was frustrated with the characters, their attitude or lack of thought to their actions, but that is human nature and it comes with the joy of reading, a book that can make you feel has a powerful impact on a reader. One part of the book that really got to me was the mention of blonde haired, blue eyed girls, having a daughter of that age and of that description made it touch home a little bit but it didn't stop me from loving the story.
This book and the others linked to it will remain with me for a long time to come, I cant wait to revisit and read the conclusion to the story. I so badly want to see justice

Harlot well what can I say Tracie has done it again this book. was such a roller coaster of a ride. You get sucked in till the very last page and you just don’t want to put the book down. You just have to keep reading to see how it will all end. Charlotte is only 19 years old and is a prostitute. Not be choice. One night when she is with a client he ends up dead, she goes on the run. Because she fears she will be to blame. She ends up in a town. That holds secrets and she meets Beau. they hate each other. they do not trust each other. Can Charlotte trust him enough to tell him what she is running from? Can Beau open up enough to help her. you have to read to find out. Another absolutely brilliant book from Tracie Podger. Brilliantly written.
This book hooked me from the start, although it accompanies Gabriel and A Deadly Sin, it can be read as a standalone. but if you haven’t read the other books give them a go they are amazing. I can’t wait to see what Tracie gives us next This Author is fast becoming one of my Favourites.
Exciting, thrilling and full of suspense, it just lacked the romance element for me.
I read The facilitator by Tracie Podger, it was hot and I loved the characters so I immediately jumped into another of Tracie's books but although it's a great book for those who love the mystery, thrill and suspense in a book it didn't have what I love and that's romance.
Harlot is a story of a girl called Charlotte who lost her parents and was put into the care of her cousin, Damien. Damien is a small-time criminal, a dealer and Charlotte who he calls Harlot is to earn her keep by being a prostitute, Charlotte is raped and passed around his friends. * The story does not go into detail of the things Charlotte went through.
A sad and sickening life for a teenage girl until finally one day she runs.
Charlotte only makes it to the next town over in her bare feet but finds solace there, a job and a place to stay, she changes her hair and hopes Damien won't find her.
Charlotte first meets Beau when he comes to visit his Gran who is the owner of the B&B Charlotte is staying in. You could say Beau is icy towards Charlotte, he doesn't trust her he thinks she's trouble and doesn't want anything like that falling on the doorstep for his elderly gran, Beau doesn't believe Charlotte is who she says she is, he knows she has secrets because he has enough of his own.
What I thought was going to be a great romance, two people who have baggage and dark backgrounds who then begin helping one another and finding each other turned more into a mystery, suspense, action and a story with twists and turns. There are secret vigilante groups who help women from the local cult escape and FBI involvement who are on the hunt to bring down the gang leaders and then amongst it all is Charlotte's cousin Damien who eventually hunts her down.
Harlot has lots of action and it's gripping stuff for those of you who don't mind the lack of romance, it's well written and has more than enough to keep you entertained.
I finished the book satisfied but at the same time disappointed, I really had hopes for Charlotte and Beau.
I'm ashamed to admit this is my first ever read by Tracie - I have a few of her books sitting on my kindle but I was so intrigued by the blurb and cover of this that I had to dive in.
Charlotte Kenny is a 19 year old young woman who has been robbed of the last few years of her childhood, thanks to her cousin Damien dragging her into a dark world after the death of their grandmother. She has been earning money through prostitution - through no fault of her own - and after one of her 'not so' clients winds up dead while she is in the next room, she runs from the town of Whiteling as she's had enough.
Whilst running she meets Beau, who gives her a ride to the next town, and his aunt Cecelia gives her a place to stay. Little does she know exactly what she has ran from, and is walking in to... Along the way we meet characters such as Rose, Kieran, Kacy, and Paul.
The character development throughout is so well evolved, and Tracie had me so intrigued with them all and what they were hiding. I had my ideas but it was not what I expected! The story is brilliantly written with everything finally connecting, and I was hooked throughout - even if I only got 5 minutes here and there to read it at points!
Full of twists and turns, suspense and secrets, a totally gripping dark read that I highly recommend. I will definitely be reading more from Tracie now!
What if abandoned as a child, your Grandmother takes you in. What if in your early teens she dies and an unknown cousin is given guardianship of you. What if that cousin sells you to his friends at aged 14 and you are raped over and over by his friends to fund his drug habit. This is Charlotte's life and when a client is murdered and she is the one most likely to be blamed she does the only thing she can, runs. picked up from the side of the road by a stranger, Beau, who drops her off in a town where the people, who are not all they seem, take her in and she finds a sort of peace just being accepted. Beau it seems is part of the town and although he doesn't trust she is telling them the whole truth keeps a wary eye on her. As with her life up until now, it isn't that easy and among the people who are helping her rebuild her life, monsters are hiding. This is a great read, not always easy but as always with this author the characters are exceptionally well written. The twists and turns throughout the story take us into the horrors of cults, drugs and trafficking. The greatest horror for me is that this story or stories very like it are happening all around the world everyday. This is a standalone but the reading experience is enhanced by the other two books Gabriel and A Deadly Sin where you will meet characters within the other books.
This is the first book I've read by this author, and I just have to say, wow! This book captured my attention from the very beginning. It was difficult to put down, and only after I couldn't keep my eyes open did I reluctantly put it down. The next morning I was anxious to pick it up and finish reading. Both Charlotte and Beau broke my heart. Charlotte's story, especially, was difficult to comprehend. How she was not only able to survive, but how she was able to move on was miraculous. I loved the fight in her. Even when most people would give up, Charlotte kept going. Beau was a rude a** to Charlotte most of the time, but it was hard not to like him. I just knew that beneath it all somewhere he cared. There was no romance in this book. There are parts of this story that will be difficult to read. It was a gripping tale that had drama, suspense, danger, shocking revelations, and twists and turns. I can't wait to read more by this author. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
I always get a thrill from reading this author’s work as her stories are gripping, raw and emotion stirring.
Charlotte has had a life that nobody deserves. Forced into a world which only exists in nightmares, and after finally having enough, she finds the strength to change it. It takes courage to know when enough is enough and to face the reality that only YOU can change it. She is such a great character.
Beau is an enigma. Surly, rude and arrogant. But there is a side to him that only one person can bring out. And that is Charlotte. When he meets her, his work…and protective instincts kick in. I look forward to reading more of his back story in the future. To find out what makes him the way he is.
“Harlot” is a story about a seedy underworld that unfortunately is TOO prevalent in today’s society.
Definitely a FIVE star read for me and it is HIGHLY recommended to those who want a thrilling, intriguing read!

I'm going to need a while to recover from this. Tracie Podger's work gets better and better with every word she writes. Tracie's skill at writing such amazing thrillers leaves me speechless. The words seep in and transport you there with the characters so much that nothing else exists apart from the words and characters in front of your eyes. I loved Gabriel and A Deadly Sin and Harlot was no different. As soon as i passed chapter one i was hooked, i became a hermit and i was not leaving my home and putting down my kindle until i have devoured every word. Be prepared to be taken on a whirlwind. One of my favourite reads this year so far! Can be read as a standalone. 5 Stars
I have never read a book where coffee was the main character. Seriously why does she constantly drink coffee? It got to the point that I hated her every time coffee was mentioned. Other than the whole coffee issue great book. What I don't understand though is how come beau could kill Phillip because he was a pedophile but he couldn't just kill Richard when he the one selling drugs, prostituting women, trafficking women, and the one that was supplying children to Phillip?!?!?!?! It doesn't make sense but then again if it was that easy then the book would have been only 2 chapters. Hoping there is a sequel where charlotte and beau can heal and get together and they decide that coffee shouldn't be drunk every other page.
This isn't a romance by any means but it is the story of a girl. The loss of her grandmother set her life into a spiral she couldn't find a way out of. Not until that night. He had no idea what he was getting himself into when he saved her on the side of the road, or did he. This isn't about romance. It's dark and ugly and as her life twist upside down it also twist back right. It's the story of a girl fighting for normal and all she has to go through to get there. It's the story of fighting to regain control. It's also the story of dark ugly things and people who take advantage and ruin lives. But there can be light in darkness along with strength and sometimes it's worth the fight to prove you're more than a name.
Wow. What a really enjoyable book. From start to finish, I was hooked. The suspense of the storyline was what kept me hooked chapter to chapter, that and some loveable characters.
Once you start the story, you feel you know where the story is going, until something is said or something happens and then it goes another way and you're left thinking "Wow, so what happens now then".
Charlotte is lovely through and through and so much older and wiser then her years. Beau, is a difficult character to adjust to but I loved him.
The author writes the story well and the style of writing is easy to follow.
