Dare, heir to the White Falls pack, has given up on finding his mate after six years of travelling the US and Europe.
Evan is an omega without a pack, and no intention of ever joining one again.
When Evan's best friend Cole, who happens to be Dare's younger brother, gets married, the two meet for the first time, and sparks fly. Neither can see what fate has brought them, but fate has a way of forcing her hand...
Summarizing, this book is about a packless omega, Evan, and a chibi alpha Dare. From the title we already know what is to come, they will mate.
The story was good. Nothing extraordinaire, and a bit cliche if I have to say so, but good anyway. What bothered me the most were two things.
First, there was not a single bit of character development. As I said before, Evan is packless, but we are never told why, the concret reason, you know? The author says his old pack treated him badly because he's a omega. Ok, but badly how? Is it common in their society? Is Dare's pack a exeption? We'll never know. As you could see, no world development as well. Dare fall short too. I could never tell how he was going to act when it was Evan's povs. The romance was very sudden as well.
Second, the editing. The book have such a shitting editing, and I'm not talking about formatting, but wrong use of personal pronouns (we instead of he), wrong character cited (they were talking about Dare and it was Cole's name there ). It wasn't grammatical mistakes the problem but revision. It all did a whole star for me.
Conclusion: Read if you have free time. It have nothing that you haven't read before.
If you can’t get this as part of a KU or Scribd subscription, I don’t recommend actually buying this.
The plot is typical. Broody Alpha has been looking for “the one”, jet setting around the globe. But has yet to find his omega. Said Omega turns out to be his siblings’ best friend from college, who is in town to attend a wedding. Sparks fly, blah blah, broody alpha pursues stand offish omega. Blah blah. It has potential.
But as others have said there is no character development and you don’t really know why the Evan, the omega is so against joining a pack. And the typos, other grammatical errors drove me crazy!
Nothing special... I like the potential the story and characters have, but in the end, the characters were shallow and the romance sort of boring, too. I laughed out loud when they were getting busy and forgot the condom, and then just went with it cause they were both clean, like what? They are alpha and omega, or did they forget that they can make kids? Such a strange way to get the stereotypical "surprise baby"! Not like they were simply taken over by desire, cause they talked and everything!
Yeah, those typos and misidentifications are there. It's mainly noticeable because they happen in the first couple of chapters. After that it settles down to an occasional blip on the radar. This should have been a lot longer, Dare pretty much didn't have to convince Evan at all to become 'mates'. Meh, not sure if I'll continue this series even though I got it through KU!
It's apparent that the authors haven't bothered to spend even a few moments to run a basic proof reading before uploading. It's beyond distracting and annoying. Despite the promise of a decent enough storyline, I can't get past the editing/grammar errors enough to continue. Even free through Kindle Unlimited, it's not worth the effort spent deciphering.
Enjoyed this story as an introduction into the Whitehall pack series. Can't but like both characters routing for them to get together. And yes at times wanting to bang their heads together , especially Dare. On the negative side it was too short and the switch to acceptance a bit too quick. Would have been better longer and more put into the relationship change and development.
How any self-respecting author could put out a book with so many mistakes in referencing the correct MC is beyond me. They were so obvious they would have been picked up if he/she had reviewed the manuscript even once. The story had great potential which wasn't fulfilled
At first I was a bit confused about who was who in this book. I kept getting Cole and Dare mixed up in my mind and it was a bit distracting. Other than that, this was an enjoyable alpha/omega story.
Evan and Dare only needed to meet and it certainly happened with a bang. It was very cute and fast-paced. I thought Evan and Dare were interesting and likable. I am glad there’s more to the series.
This has all the right elements for my favorite shifter books. I thought the whole didn’t realize he was my mate thing odd, but it was still a nice story
It sounded great, it started great, then I didn't know what happened...thank God it was short, because I definitely would have dropped it at some point...
Evan is an omega who not only doesn't plan on mating another wolf or joining a pack, he certainly doesn't plan on mating an alpha accidentally over a night of passion. Dare is an intense person and truly hopes to find his mate but has come to believe it's never going to happen. They both don't see the signs and then fate sneaks up on them both. Good things about the story include the humorous banter and warmth between Dare's family and Evan. Evan went to college with Cole and Mindy and came home with them over some vacations as well (while Dare was off doing diplomatic work for the pack and seeking his mate). The interactions between family members were also very genuine and warm. Also excellent was the smoldering passion between Evan and Dare and the way it erupts once they come together. So the book was very satisfying in a number of ways but could have been really good if the author had drawn a few things out. What I felt could have been done better or explored more was the aftermath of the mating. There was a little of that, but I think that Evan would have been more angry or resistant than he is. We also never really get the story behind Evan's attitudes towards alphas and packs, other than some reference to his birth pack being sexist about his omega status. The thing I was most disappointed was the mpreg. This really should not even count as an mpreg story since it literally doesn't come up until 99% of the way into the book. This was something I would have really liked to see more of--expected to see more of. If this is the start of a series, perhaps we will get glimpses of the developing pregnancy through other stories. I think it's a good start to a series and will definitely be interested in the next entry.
Although the characters are wolves they never actually shifted. I also didn't feel like the story was complete at the end of the book, it would have been great we could have seen their story fleshed out to include the happily ever after.
This had all of the potential to be a solid 4 star story, then it just ended. I mean mid thought ended. As this is the first in the series, I really hope the others finish the ending.
Accidentally Mated was a cute short read. Dare's family is endearing and Evan a likeable omega. I wanted to like this book more but it just felt like something was missing. I can't put my finger on it. I'm not enthusiastic about picking up the next book in the series, but who knows what the future may hold.
This is my first book by Harper and it was very good. Evan is a omega who doesn't want a alpha are to join a pack. He is in a ruff spot right now but he puts on a smile and pretends everything is ok. When he gets to town for his best friend wedding he doesn't plan on finding his mate but destiny has her own plan for him. Dare his home for his brother wedding all he wants to do is relax and enjoy his family. But his mom and destiny have a different plans for him. Dare and Evan doesn't see what in front of them are will they both walk away from from love.
