Truth is, it's been a month since I've finished this book. The only reason why I haven't updated it as read here so I'd be pushed to review it. Well, that's another problem, i don't know how to review a Non-Fiction.

Yep, this is kinda the first Self-Help book that I need to review. :) :) I'm just gonna say what I think in the simplest way.

I like this book. LOL. What? I said simple. Hahaha... (this just shows my personality, isnt it?)
See what I did there?

Okay kidding aside, this book, I requested it because it seems interesting. Changing your personality, or at least having results in doing so, in as little as 30 Days. That's intriguing. What I did was read the book little by little, everyday from 1st of January til 3oth. I'm relishing it and in hindsight, I can say now, I did the right thing.

I can't say that this book is life changing, and in the span of only 30 days. That's just impossible. I mean, if it is possible, ahm maybe I'm not an introvert anymore. :) But I CAN say that this book is so informative. The author explains everything there is that the reader should know about personality. And the tips he shared are somehow sensible. And thus I could say that reading it little by little is the best way. :)

Overall, this book is recommendable. Though i haven't read that many self-help books, I know this is a good one. :)

*I got this book from the authors and Publishers thru Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you.

SNAP: Change Your Personality in 30 Days is an easy, informative read. I read this in one evening. It is not my usual genre, but I did enjoy it because it was neither too dry with too many facts, nor too much fluff. The books centers on "Big Five" dimensions (Extraversion, Openness, Conscientiousness, Agreeableness and Emotional Stability). I do not agree with the authors’ premise that one can change one’s personality in 30 days. I would concur that one can change certain behaviors, attitudes and thought patterns and the authors offer up some very good tips on how to do so. However, to my knowledge, an introvert does not become an extrovert and I know of no extrovert that became an introvert. Forcing oneself to attempt that would likely result in a very frustrated and unhappy individual. Individuals can seek to become more balanced, of course, and I believe that is what the authors are truly driving at. Semantics aside, it is a good read with helpful hints for those seeking personal development. I give it a solid 4 stars. Although I received a copy of this book from Net Galley, this did not affect my rating. I have provided an unbiased and honest review.

The book was going well.. But the difference you get when you rate yourself according to the 'big five personality wheel' vs the 'check box statements' for each personality category got me stumped! That much difference cannot be right?! Sorry!

And it won't be only for me, as the check box statements are basic and wheel rating is standardised. How can one assess their personality in this conflict??

And the end strategies, tools and so called solutions, seriously? It should be called advertising for counselling! And those apps, damn. The end.

We can all change our personality, is the bold claim in this book and the title Snap, makes it sound easy.
Is it easy? No, it takes a lot of work and perhaps some professional help, but you can change...

I enjoyed this title, but beware changing your personality isn’t just a snap, it takes a lot of work and determination

I found this book both enjoyable and informative. This book discusses how extroverts have a longer life expectancy than introverts. This book helps guide you to change your personality for the better and improve your health. Your motivation is the most critical component for success. The book includes thought-provoking questions to help you define the person you want to become and attain it.

This book certainly has some valid points yet some of what is written in the book is common sense. Changing one’s personality in 30 days may be easily done for some but for others would be very difficult as we are products of out environments and families. While I learned some interesting information from these authors, I think that based on some of the personality traits that we all possess, there are a few that are especially adaptable In certain situations. This book gives the reader a better understanding of the our abilities to incorporate new changes and sometimes small changes that will allow the reader to change the things about themselves they can change but I still believe that for some it will be much harder when they have repeated actions for most of their lives.

Thank you to netgalley as well as the author/publisher for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

First off,let me say the title “Snap” is a red flag for me. Yes, we may be able to change aspects of our personalities but it is not easy, it is NOT a “Snap”. However there are valid points made by the authors so I don’t want to “throw the baby out with the bath water “. After all, our personalities are not cast in concrete- we change throughout our lives as we experience events in our lives. So I will take what I find useful and apply it. That’s really all we can do,isn’t it?

My thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an arc in exchange for my honest review.

The book talks about two main things - the model of behavior change and your personality traits.

The author provides ways to assess your personality and means to tweak it to meet your goals.

The tips are practical, the examples are illuminating and the model is very clear. The tips that the author share are my favourite part of the book and one I will return to over and over again.

I received an advance copy in exchange of a review. This has, in no way, affected my review.

Good book on different personalities. Good advice on changing one's personality. I did try one and it didn't work for me. The book is well written and there are some very good observations/thoughts provided. Overall, it cannot hurt to read this book if possibly helping your personality is what one desires. Thanks to NetGalley, the authors and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review.

I was always doubtful about books like this. I always thought, that I never found anything that can be useful to me. But this time I was wrong!
It’s the first time that a self-help book motivated me to try meditation. And I’m sure, that after reading it for the second or even third time I will find it even more useful.

Dr Small is a thoughtful guide to the world of thinking about one's own personality. He mixes anecdotes, information, and questionnaires to help readers determine their own strengths and weaknesses, and places these into contexts both clear and dynamic.

For a self-help book, this is a good read, a beginner's guide to thinking about being.

This was a very informative book regarding personality psychology. Filled with many case studies of Dr. Small's patients, it discusses the big 5 personality traits, and the spectrum on which we can fall on each of them. It provides checklists and ratings scales for you to rate yourself on each of the traits, and practical strategies to change your personality if you wish to. It was written in an engaging way to hold the interest of any and all readers. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book.

With a conscious effort to change our personality, we can!
Snap! Is based on the observation that although a lot of our personality remains consistent throughout our lives, we always have the power to work on certain personality traits. In this book, the authors concentrate on extraversion, openness, emotional stability, agreeableness, and conscientiousness. With a personal self-assessment, the reader can determine where on the spectrum of each personality trait his or her own personality falls and then decide on which character trait to work in his or her current situation. The authors stress that the best time to change is now and explain that change can be achieved in as little as 30 days with or without professional intervention. I like that I found a lot suggestions in this book to change our behavior and ways of thinking. We can always work on our personalities. I find the tools and the outlook of this book very encouraging.

This book was an eye opener in some areas that I could really apply to my own life, then there was some areas I was already familiar with. Gary and Gigi did a good job putting this together with just the right enough info and photos that brought the topic to life.

Snap! Change your personality in 30 days is a fast-paced and pleasantly- read book that is easily applied to your life. Written by Dr. Gary Small, Director of the UCLA Longevity Center and and Gigi Vorgan, the book suggests that with the right knowledge we can change our personalities in five distinct categories:
EXTRAVERSION
OPENNESS
CONSCIENTIOUSNESS
AGREEABLENESS
EMOTIONAL STABILITY
I am always really interested in books that challenge long-held beliefs and this is one of these books. The authors challenge the notions that a person's early life experiences shape his/her personality forever and that personality remains the same throughout his/her life. If you are interested in changing specific traits of your personality, they have a specific method which makes for an interesting read.
