I learned so much about St Louis history by reading this book! Wow! I was asking SIRI for map locations to many sites. I learned about Senate Square, the Bush family connection to St Louis (not Busch the beer family, but the Bush Presidential family), more about German’s imprint on St Louis, especially it’s abolitionist mindset, their determination to keep St Louis free to all, but only to be targeted by non-Germans during WW1, thus the major dispersement of German cultural schools and centers by the 1950s.

There is just so much history in St Louis. This book focuses on locations, what they were then and what they are now. I want to get a copy of this book and actually visit many of the places.

Wow, Hidden St. Louis!!!

I loved this book!!! I'm from St. Louis, lived there my entire life until May of 2018 when I moved to change jobs. This book is full of great stories and amazing facts and history in short 3-page chapters. I wished it was longer because I am sure there is much more to tell. I learned more about my beloved home town than I knew while living there! Great book, great job NiNi Harris.
