Ruthless. Coldhearted. Killer . I was young when my parents took off and left me alone to fend for my two younger brothers. I learned to survive. I learned to fix problems, by any means necessary.
Which is exactly what I do for the Dark Saints - the Irish crime family that raised me as their own. I make the secrets stay in the shadows. I make the bodies disappear. I make the problems go away. I owe them that much.
That is, until she walks in and sees me with a smoking gun in my fist and blood on my hands.
Sierra Hammond - the kind of good girl who wants to pretend she’s bad by hanging out in the rough parts of town. But this time, she stepped into the wrong bar and ran into the wrong man.
I know the rules, and I know letting her walk out of there alive breaks every single one of them. But one look into those big brown eyes, and one touch of those sweet curves writhing and fighting against me, and I know I’m done.
I’ll start a war.
I’ll break every vow.
I’ll move heaven and hell to make her mine.
F**k the rules, I’m taking her instead.
The Shelter Harbor books are intended to be read in any order, though your enjoyment of the series may be enhanced by reading them in the order presented. Each book in the series is it's own standalone story.
**This is a standalone book with a HEA and NO CLIFFHANGER!**
Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Aubrey Irons enjoys writing about bold, sassy, and intelligent women and the hot, cocky, and quite typically forbidden bad boys who love and lust for them. Gripping stories, guaranteed happy ever afters, and LOTS of heat.
In the real world, Aubrey is kept plenty entertained by her own favorite bad boy husband, their two adorable kiddos, and the world's most ill-behaved puppy.

I've read several books by Aubrey Irons and this is my favorite! I enjoy her writing style the ways she writes her characters, there always likeable no matter if there good or bad.
I seriously loved Sierra from the second she set her ex boyfriends equipment on fire, lol. The second Sierra and Connor spot each other across the club there's a connection until Sierra finds herself at the wrong place at the wrong time and witnesses a crime at the hands of Connor.
I loved Sierras fighting spirit, she was stronger then she gave herself credit for and Connor was great to me, so protective of Sierra. He literally broke all his rules to keep her safe.
I voluntarily reviewed a advanced readers copy of this book
I voluntary reviewed an ARC of this book. Wow! I really enjoyed this book. You can never go wrong with one of Ms Irons' books. This was a crossover book with Sienna from the Shelter Harbor Series and what looks to be the beginning of the Dark Saint Series. Sienna is the youngest of the Hammond Family siblings. Connor is the oldest of the Roarke brothers. He and his brother Liam are captains with the Dark Saints.Sienna and Connor meet when Sienna accidentaly witness's Connor shooting someone. He is a fixer for the Saints and can not leave her behind. Connor takes Sienna to protect her from one of the men who got away from the shooting and will go after her. Their story takes off from there and what a story it is. I loved how Connor at first tries to convince himself he has no interest in Sienna. I love how tough Sienna is not afraid of Connor and realizes what a great guys he truly is down deep. I loved everything about this book! This one is one of top favorites from Ms Irons.
This book is fantastic and so is the author. When you can feel the heat and fear from the inferno in the book within your own body, when you get lost in their world and forget what's going on around you, you know the storyteller is a star. I couldn't put this down once I got started. So well written it just grabs you and drags you along for the ride. Loved it.
If there is one thing you can be sure of from Aubrey Irons is a story that is complete with the emotions and scenes jumping at you from the pages and this one is no exception and my favourite so far from this author. It is heart pounding action with some suspense, steamy scenes that will make your toes curl and palms sweat, and a hot alpha bad man with a dark past with only one woman who can break through his walls who happens to be a "good girl", who he will protect with everything he is.....what more do you want. This story is about Sierra from the Shelter Harbor series and Connor from Bloodlines told from both POV's (which I love) and an attraction that is immediate when they first eye each other in a bar and once I started reading it, I couldn't put down till I was done. I can't rave enough about this book and author....even though I recieved an ARC I had to buy it....KUDOS to Aubrey Irons.

I admit that I thought this book would be quite a bit darker than it was, and that was likely my biggest disappointment. It sounds dark from the blurb, and looks dark, but it's kind of all bark and no bite. There's plenty of steam, but the characters do a bit more insisting that they're dark than actually showing it, and in the end, I kind of felt more like it was a contemporary romance dressed up with mafia trimmings, just based on the characters and the ease of the plot development. It wasn't a bad diversion, though, so for someone simply wanting a romance that threatens darkness more so than it delivers it, and proceeds pretty easily and at a fast pace, it's worth a read.
I have no idea if I'll read more work from the author--the romance here worked, and there was plenty of steam. The writing wasn't bad, if sometimes a bit repetitive and forced. I just wanted the darkness of the characters/plot to live up to genre and blurb promise and advertising a bit more.
Okay. The 'I'm a bad man. A very bad man' shit is starting to get annoying already and I'm like two chapters in. Honey! A little less talking, a lot more doing. At the moment the constant use of the word 'powerful' and 'he's a man' makes me think this girl is clearly just that, a cringey juvenile sort of girl. However she's definitely not the cringest heroine that I've come across and the way the book is wittten sounds promising. The dialogue is just a teeny bit annoying. We shall see. Update: So the plot was a 3. The cheeriest between the characters was a 3 (and I think I'm only rating t so high because of the way he is described lol), the writing style is a 3.5 and the dialogue is a 3 so overall I'd give this book a 3.5. I just really felt like there was no chemistry between the two characters and there was nothing tying them together except the sex they had 3 times.
4.5 ⭐️. This was the first book by this author and while I really enjoyed it there was just something missing. I just didn't feel that connected with the characters and their relationship (development). Does the story of Connor and Sierra. Connor works for the dark saints, a mob organization and Sierra is heartbroken college girl looking for some dirty fun. She randomly kisses him in a bar and then as she's trying to escape her ex-boyfriend runs into him in the back while he's killing someone. Connor knows that he should kill her but ends up kidnapping her instead. Now they are both on the run from the Ukrainian mob and he has to save her life and keep her safe. I enjoyed the story and would read this author again, that was great steam, their connection seemed real, the storyline had great potential and there was angst. My only missing piece was that I wish their relationship and themselves were more developed so I felt more connected.
Wow this book was amazing, hot bad boy who has a heart of gold. An amazingly strong woman who needs a strong partner, she is smart, gutsy and funny. He is dark, closed off and brooding. The two meet at a bar typical kiss a bad boy to get even with a jerky boyfriend. She has a hot temper lol literally she gets mad and burns things down not the best trait in a lawyer with a complex to be the normal one. She gets caught up in his dark world by accident but once she is involved she becomes attached and isn't letting go. He literally rocks her world unlike her x wanna be rocker,he definitely makes her an offer she can't refuse, a hot, steamy love of a lifetime. This book is one you will have trouble putting down.
Some of the best things in life are completely unexpected. Sierra didn't expect to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Connor didn't expect to kidnap a witness. They certainly didn't expect the fireworks that came after. This man's man bad boy and spicy stubborn good girl turn out to be just what the other needed. Throw in some guns and bad guys and you end up with a heck of a book that almost melted my Kindle. The sex scenes are raw, believable, and honest without the usual silly fake descriptors. A very good, steamy read.
I truly loved this book. Sierra and Conner were 2 of my favorite characters. The storyline was well-written and intriguing. I was so happy to see the prior couples and characters come back for a reprise role. I certainly hope you have more book coming for these Awesome characters. I'd love to see what you would come up for Stella, Damien and even Kyle. Awesome Book!!!
I found the story ok. What I really found strange is the story is only 50% of the book. the rest of the book is made up of advertising other books and wanting the reader to go to the authors web page for an additional story she has written about the main characters in Saint. Give me a break.....will not be purchasing any more books by this author.
Sierra's character was someone I could relate too. Connor was cool although the i'd have preferred him a little more bad ass. The romance was sweet but I wanted it a little darker to be honest. The steaminess was on point. The action plot line was too convenient for me.
Sierra stumbled into an impossible situation with the hot stranger she’d just planted the hottest kiss ever on. Now, he’s going to kill her. She’s a good girl trying to act bad & she’s right in the worst place.
Love is possible even if criminal. Good ideal to try for legitimate businesses. The stand alone was good and gives a hint at the other characters in the series, there were bonus stories also.
I freaking LOVED Sierra Hammond. I dug her in the previous books as well, but I really loved how down to earth and totally bad ass she was in her story.

Let me start off by pointing out one small thing, Saints is based off of a character from another book "Bloodlines" which was featured in a multi-author book 'Begging for Bad Boys: A Steamy Romance Collection'. This book, Saint, is further enhanced IF you've read this other story. Worry not, you can read Saint just fine without the other one...it just is a bit better knowing who background characters are and the situation going on in the background.
Now, if you haven't read a review by me before - know that I don't like to include anything that can ruin your experience both plot wise by emotionally. You of course, can read a synopsis and know the basics of the story. Bad boy mafia and well obviously innocent girl Romance combo is what we are reading. If you've read romance before, like bad boys romance to be precise - THIS book is great.
If you've read the author's other books - you'll definitely enjoy this one. So basically, I REALLY enjoyed Saint. It seemed slow (not boring I might add) as you begin reading, there's a lot to slowly bring together all the chaos; however, it's good stuff. From beginning to end I was into the characters and the going-on's in their world. Never wanted to stop reading as I wanted to find out where we'd go, what would happen and basically how would the story end. This is for me, what I think makes a great book/a great read. Also want to say, I didn't think it was too short or exhaustingly long either...the length gave you more, so you could enjoy the sparks between our bad boy and "good" girl.
So to quickly sum this review up: Buy it, get it via Kindle Unlimited - you'll enjoy the story and characters, so you are in no way wasting your money or time. I am hopeful seeing as the book "Bloodlines" is part of this 'world' that the author will expand even more. Get a copy of Saints, read it...enjoy it, like it and please review it too. (It's reviews that keeps books like this in our hands). Check out too if you can "bloodlines" so you can TRULY enjoy Saints to its best ability while you're at it.

If you're looking for a book to get lost in, Saint by Aubrey Irons is the one for you. This dark, sexy, heartfelt, intense, and action-packed story has plenty of suspense, angst, violence, and steamy scenes that keep you turning the pages to see where the story will take you.
I volunteered to review an advanced readers copy of this book.
