4 1/2 STARS!

A sassy combination of country and city collide in the latest from Katherine Garbera! Sadness abounds for the losses they have experienced, but their sweet connection and the hope that they can manage to find their way through the heartache to see a bright future ahead carries us quickly throughout their story. It's a sexy sweet connection and the characters are a joy to read!

Widower Will Brady is living in Royal, Texas temporarily while he helps investigate the big blackmailing scheme at the Texas Cattleman's Club. He is still learning his way as he forges through life as a single father to his baby girl. He certainly isn't looking to meet someone that he actually feels an attraction to, but he can't resist the temptation of this feisty woman!

Cowgirl Amberley Holbrook isn't going to fall for the smooth talking of another city slicker in this lifetime! She has no use for a man that's only in town temporarily, but once she runs into Will and his daughter a time or two, she can't deny she's left wanting more every time she's in his company!

I loved this story!
Amberley is a cowgirl and doesn't like city guys at all, but then Will shows up on the ranch and she is instructed to help him out with riding etc. Will is a single father who is in the area to investigate some trouble at the Texas Cattleman's Club, and he has no interest in a relationship since he is still getting over his wife's death.
Amberley and Will are great characters. They are both broken due to past losses, and they are from very separate places, but the spark is definitely there.
I really liked how real the characters seemed - flaws and all. The epic battle between the head and the heart - logic verses feelings - combined with the drama of trying to solve the mystery with the Cattleman's Club, had me turning pages as quickly as I could to get to the end of the book.

The next in the Texas Cattlemen's Club series.I love this series so much and can't wait to find out who Maverick is...In this book they hunt someone down but is he really Maverick? Will it finally be solved??

Will has come to Royal to help his friend Max to see if they can find Maverick...Will is mourning the loss of his late wife while trying to raise his daughter...While staying on the Flying E he meets Amberley. She works with the horses and is a barrel races...She introduces herself to him and offers to show him how to ride...Sparks fly from the minute they meet but both have to get over their painful pasts..Can Will move on or will he forever mourn his late wife. Amberley is set to hate him as he his a city boy. she was previously hurt by one so she is not ready to fall for a smooth talker but the more time they spend together the closer they become...she loves his little daughter too...

This is another great book in the series..You will find as you turn the pages you can't put it down. A must read in the story that gets you a tiny bit closer to maybe finding out who Maverick is

An enjoyable addition to the Texas Cattleman's Club series. I liked how this one focused more on non-TCC members for a change. I can't wait to find out who Maverick is and figured despite the storyline of this book seeming to reveal Maverick that with 2 more books left that it had to be too early to reveal that. While I haven't read all of this year's TCC releases, Katherine has done a fantastic job of writing it so that it fits both series but can be jumped into separately. I'll definitely be back to re-read it once I get around to reading the entire series.
My main disappointment is that while Amberley and Will got their HEA, there was a focus through much of the book on each of them being 'broken' and I feel like this didn't really get addressed/resolved as part of the HEA.

Maverick is smart and a jerk. How could he use Haskell like he did? Will had a lot of sorrow in his life as did Amberley. She gets her family and he gets love.

I won a copy of this book from the author, I was not required to give a favorable review. This is a great story about finding love after loss. This is part of series of book and each are wonderful. Amberley is the true cowgirl who grew up on a ranch in Texas and was a barrel racer. She is working at a great ranch now, her father said she needed time to be her away from her siblings, she was helping him raise them after their mom died. She thought she had found love once, but ended up pregnant and losing the baby and now is not able to have children, which makes having a relationship with anybody a bad thing. Will is partners with Amberley's boss in te cyber-secruity business. He is there with his little girl and her nanny trying to find someone selling secrets. But something clicks between the city guy and the country girl. Can they make it work. I loved it. I look forward to more books in this series.
