Great Teacher Onizuka is back, and the next stage for his legend is… prison?! The trouble magnet of a teacher reveals that this stint behind bars is thanks to a certain incident with the class he became assistant homeroom teacher of half a year earlier: Kissho Academy’s new class for high school-aged celebrities! Does he regret the exploits that landed him in the slammer? Heck, no. In fact, he’s all too happy to calmly tell his fellow prisoners how the whole thing went down—if they’re willing to listen to his story from the very beginning...
Tōru Fujisawa (japanese: 藤沢とおる; also Toru, Tôru Fujisawa or Tooru Fujisawa) began his career as mangaka in 1989 with Adesugata Junjou Boy serialized in the Weekly Shonen Magazine.
Do you know when the author decides to extend the story of a beloved protagonist by bringing a spin off series? The fear that the author, for lack of a better word, shit with the MC and his original story?
Relax, cause you are safe!
Toru Fujisawa brings the Great Teacher Onizuka the way we love in new unexpected situations with his new special students that are actually famous idols and how he got to prison (Yep, our favorite teacher is in prison).
"As far as I'm concerned, everybody in class is an A-List Student."
Before saying anything particular about this series I want to warn readers that like the original series this one has scenes of nudity(though any full frontal is censored), violence, strong language, potential fish fetishes, and drug use so if this cocktail offends your sensitivities I am warning you to avoid this series. If you are curious on the other hand then although it might be better to read the original GTO first I think you will probably pick up the story easy enough without his earlier teaching achievements.
Eikichi Onizuka, or for those have not read any of the original series the Great Teacher Onizuka, is ready for a new year of teaching. However this year he has a special assignment from the Director of Kissho Academy and the trouble starts before he can even get to school. With a class full of celebrities there is a dark truth that has lead Onizuka to his fate in the very beginning of the book. With a big heart, a wicked mind, and his fists of justice Onizuka has to carve his ideal of a classroom of equality out of the hide of even celebrities which I am looking forward to. :)
Great besides echi stuff, it gets annoying pretty quickly. But stories were amazing, new class is really good with truly interesting and hearth felt stories, its believable is the right word.
I actually read this in English, but I could only find this edition on here for some reason. GTO Paradise lost is a solid sequel to Fujisawa's previous GTO comics. It starts a bit slow, but goes into new territory pretty fast. Love it!
