Definitivamente este es un libro muy completo en cuanto a polvos esotericos y fórmulas herbales, no considero que este libro pueda ser para principiantes porque si necesitas bastantes conocimientos para llevar a cabo las formulas del libro con éxito.

Buen libro.

This is a book for those who feel a calling to magick and who are looking to enhance or learn about spell casting. I found myself taking notes as I read through this book and while it is a Witchy Techniques book it also has some very practical advice. This is one I would love to own and have on my shelf. It comes out October 8th

Ah, my old friend Silver RavenWolf. We meet again. My enjoyment of this particular author is hit and miss: some of her books I absolutely adore and take front and center stage on my shelf. Others, not so much. This one fell pretty safely into the middle for me.

The organization of this book is really, really disjointed. It's a bit all over the place, and makes it hard to read. The tone comes off as a bit one true way: that this is how you should do it, because I say so.

That said, there's a lot of useful information in this book. I personally found RavenWolf's herbal information to be very informative and inclusive. There were things here that I learned, and the material was explained in such a way that it was easy to understand, even when you don't have the best working knowledge of herbs and plants. I also found her moon charts and explanations to be really well thought out and detailed.

In addition, I appreciate that her work is cited, so you can research topics further if you so choose. It gives the book a more scholarly tone.

It's a good book maybe for beginners, because there's a lot of introductions and explanations, sort of like a Witch 101 syllabus. That said, I still learned some new things, and I'm not a beginner. So, you may appreciate this book more than I did, even if you're not so new.

I received a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Looking for simple spells, charms, chants, and powders? This book is for you! Not only does it contain these things and more but it also has ways to ground yourself, to cleanse yourself from negative energy. I love how to shows you to prepare for magic. The things to cleanse your mind and energy for ritual. There is quite a things that I can't wait to try after reading this book. So many herbal blends and powders and even a few meditations. I'm glad Silver RavenWolf has decided to write again. Her book To Ride a Silver Broomstick was the first Wiccan book I ever read and while I know some people don't like her, I find her writing easy to follow and informative.

There is so much info in this book that I can't even begin to cover it in this little review, you need to read this book for yourself and you won't regret it. Also if you are looking for a step by step into herbal blends and powder, this is perfect for you! I loved how detailed it was, from the herbs themselves to the tools you will need to make your desired item. This is just a wonderful book. I'm so glad that NetGalley gave me a copy in exchange for an honest review!

I really enjoyed this. It was a bit out of my comfort zone in terms of knowledge so a lot to take in personally but I think if this is an area of interest it is well worth the read.

Lots of illustrations to go with the recipes and all about owning and developing your own power. It's in depth and tells you everything you may need to buy.

Really enjoyable and great to try and learn something new to me.

A compendium for the modern day witch which includes spells, powders, and formulas for a variety of needs, wants, and wishes. What is unique about this book compared to other grimoires is that it contains plenty of information on how to prepare yourself for magic. This is the most important part of spellwork which Ms. RavenWolf makes obvious in this book as she spends a great deal of time providing tips on how to do this. Many tips on how to energetically prepare yourself are included such as breathing, posture, and visualization techniques. All of these methods will greatly enhance your magical practices along with choosing the right ingredients and tools which comprises most of the book. Step by step instructions on how much powder, oil, and herbs should be used makes this book extremely useful whether you are a beginner or more advanced witch. Where and when to perform magic, how and where to store your items is also included making this book a magical textbook. Incorporating the elements and planets into spells is also discussed along with fluid condensers which was unique and compelling and should be incorporated into magical practices more often. There is a plethora of information contained within this book that is a must read for anyone who uses magic. No review can do this book justice as you need to pick it up right now and watch your magical practices greatly improve. The Witching Hour begins when you get your hands on this handy dandy grimoire.

I've never read one of Silver RavenWolf's books before, although she is a well-known new age writer. I really didn't know what to expect when reading "The Witching Hour", but I approached it with an open mind and I am glad I did.

First I enjoyed the little illustrations in the book. Sometimes just look at a pretty book can make your day better, well at least mine anyway. This book is about conjuring your own power, your own "Witching Hour" and using it as see fit. The introduction has some really good information on what is "Magick", how can it be found, and how can you harness it. Now, there are as probably as many definitions of magick as there are practitioners, but she makes some really interesting points.

Like many of these types of books there are techniques to try and meditations. There is also a chapter on the tools and supplies you will need in your practice. Some spellwork, and new insights into things you may normally overlook. I've not tried anything in the book yet, except a few of the simple exercises in the beginning of the book, but it full of a lot of great info.

I am really glad I read this book. Although it is aimed at the beginner practitioner, I think its a great refresher for someone more seasoned, or someone to get back to their roots and what really drives their practice.

I received an e-copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

It has been 9 years since Silver RavenWolf's last book "Hedge Witch" and i am very happy to say that she has returned on top form! This book is a great example of a writer who has put everything they preach into practice to make sure that what they are giving to the reader has truly been tried and tested. This book contains many recipes for spells and lots of useful information to make your magick work better for you. Silver's books are always a pleasure to read due to her very personal writing style. You always feel as though she could be right in the room with you walking you through each chapter. This helps to engross the reader and keep them involved in what they are reading. She explains things in a very clear and easy to understand way and the book never feels preachy. Everything in this book is geared towards enhancing your Craft. This book made me feel excited to do some new magick and has reignite a spark in me. Thanks to Netgalley and Llewellyn for an advance read of this book. I enjoyed it that much that i have bought the book in physical format.

This is a great read for the intermediate/advanced witch. Silver doesn’t take a lot of time going over the witchcraft 101 information which is refreshing. She still gives enough of an explanation for those who are new to the specific topics but it does require some basic knowledge on the topic. The beginner may feel lost or overwhelmed while those who’ve studied the Craft for years will find it a quick refresher.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the angel information which popped up often. Some of the magickal formulas she tells you to do are far more complicated than I’d care to do (code your sentence then shift it into numerology). For some witches, they will like the additional options to make more steps into their ritual work. Some of the sections I didn’t agree with such as taking grave dirt. Thankfully she does say it’s better to take from someone you know but then also tells you to go to a stranger if they are a soldier. Some don’t find an issue with it but it’s disrespectful for me and most people I know. The herbal formulas are relatively simple but do require you do hunt down some ingredients you likely won’t have laying around.

Overall, it’s a great resource for any witch looking for advanced concepts and new ideas for spellwork. As always, Silver’s writing style is easily approachable yet still informative.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with this book in exchange for a review!

This book took me forever to read, and I ended up skimming most of it. There is so much information, that it's hard to take it all in, in one read but I'll go back and have a decent read of sections later when I need/want the information.

I love the fact that she uses citations and her ideas about combining magick and science!

The biggest fault I found with this book is that it was so unorganised. I felt like there was no method to the layout. There are also a few unnecessary repetitions and typos. Although, it may be because the book hadn't finished being edited.

I liked the section on herbs, although I guess I had a few different beliefs than the author but it was still an interesting read.

Give this book a go, it's full of information and could be a very valuable resource to someone.

I love her books and always get a LOT of useful info from them. But this one I had trouble with. A lot of it was confusing to me, perhaps because I am a solitary pagan and have never had a mentor in the craft, whereas Silver is an experienced witch with many years of practice. I’m no good at calculus either, and some of the formulas in this book reminded me of being in college and not understanding my professor either. But the book had useful info and rituals, and I’m glad I stuck with it and finished.

Thanks to NetGalley and Llewellyn for allowing me to read this book in advance. A nice overview of magic in the pagan world for someone of any practicing level, from beginner to advanced. Nearly every kind of topic is covered here with information and ritual suggestions. There are recipes for various items and information on all the different types of tools a practitioner may use. Many correspondences are explained as well throughout the book.

I have a lot of complex feelings about this book. On the one hand, I am sooo grateful it isn't just another intro to Wicca book, on the other, it really isn't much more than a cleverly put together and published Grimoire. The one thing that does set this book apart from other Grimoires I have read is how heavily influenced it is by the Braucherei system. This makes a lot of sense since the author is Pennsylvanian themself, and I really enjoyed getting to know this system a bit better.

Thanks to NetGalley and Llewellyn for allowing me to read the ARC. This book offers quite a bit of information and the preparation for spellwork was a nice touch. Sometimes I did feel like I was getting bounced around a bit like there was so much info to impart that it felt like "this is important, but wait! this is too". I enjoyed the herb mix section the most.

If you are after simple spells or are starting your witchcraft journey this book is helpful. Although I really struggled with this book, it seemed really unorganised and muddled, it did have some really helpful ideas and information.

Thanks to netgalley for letting me read this.

This book is a work of art!

I'm a big fan of Silver Ravenwolf and this is one of my newest books of hers. Its not as crafty for the spells like she was in the Silvers Spells For series but quickly produces a small spell and ingredients essential.

Try to pay attention to the titles she is using. I was upset because I ran into spellwork being a part of a technique all because I failed to notice "Release Before a Working" as an introduction in the book. I went in looking to relax by performing the techniques and ended up roasted because I ran into spellwork.

Anyway, she provides a lot of beautiful information and its all structured and presented appropriately.

You might like this book more if you're interested in astrology, flowers and herbs. There is a lot of emphasis on planetary influence and harnessing their power.

Author does not disappoint in delivering a magickal book worth reading. It not only gives great information on doing magick but takes time to give Teachings on the person doing the magick. Conditions don't just have to be right but the person doing it has to be in the right mind set.

This book is magical. It's a wonderful encyclopedia of all things mystical. From herbal blends, to protection spells, to meditation, and learning the moon cycles, there's something for everyone. A sort of how-to guide that builds on creating a balanced mind and body and working in healing herbs, blends, and embracing the elements. There's a huge section on gardening and where to place which plants in your garden for performance and use. It's really amazing and so thoughtful. Every question you've had about making your own powders and bends is likely in this book. If you're looking for rituals, spiritual cleansing, blessings, GET THIS BOOK.
