Never Again.
A vow written in the blood of the fallen is threatened in Australia’s rugged Top End.

Eamon “Titanis” Straider left the military and civilization behind after betrayal cost the life of a teammate. Living on this super yacht, the ViCross, Eamon reluctantly agrees to host an event for his parents, who are part of the Australian political machine. When an attractive woman arrives with his mother, Eamon is furious—and determined to find out what she is hiding.

Lady Ellis Rostov-Leclair has never felt so threatened as she does by the infamous “Beast of Cape York,” a man notorious for removing people—by force if necessary—from his yacht. His uncanny perception endangers not only her reason for being aboard the ship, but a secret she’s held for twenty years.

When the yacht is seized by a man with one goal: make those responsible for his brother’s death pay—the Beast of Cape York must live up to his name and protect those under his charge, or die trying.

Secrets, romance, tension, and heart-pounding action set against the backdrop of a stunning Austrailian landscape. Titanis is a wild and passionate ride you won't soon forget.

Ah, reader friends, I cannot explain to you the depth of my LOVE for this novella! It was soooo wonderful! Coming on the heels of the other full-length, Quiet Professional's novels (Raptor 6, Hawk, Falcon) this is a wonderful follow up and a look at Titanis and his life.

Set against the stunning and varied landscape of Australia, we get to see this brooding hero on the heels of all that happened in book 3 (which I won't spoil for you here). I loved the look into his life, the amazing setting of his impressive yacht, and the struggles he must overcome to reajust to life after the military.

Enter Ellis and her secrects, the very things that Titanis can't abide. She's sweet, passionate about her work, and more than a little intimidated by Titanis--for good reason. He's earned the name "The Beast of Cape York" and she gets a front row seat to his dogged determination.

I absolutely loved the interplay of these two characters. The tension, romantic and otherwise, is expertly written, drawing you in, and the building anticpation of the plot will make you read straight through to the end. I'm already thinking of when I'll read it again!

I highly recommend this to anyone who loves romantic suspense, romance, or just AWESOME writing. You won't regret getting a copy of Titanis!

I love reading a book by Ronie Kendig. It has everything I love in a suspense book. "Rapid-fire" pacing, swoon worthy heroes that will give their all to protect you, and that touch of romance that has your heart suspending as you wait to see if they will or won't fall in love.

Seriously, Ronie Kendig is a master at merging romance and suspense. Top it off her heroes have all seen military combat and my heart jumps in excitement, knowing I'll be gripping the edges of the book the entire time.

Which is exactly what I did reading this. I couldn't breathe as Ellis and Eamon eyed one another, deciding if trust would be had. And then, when the action was dialed up and lives were at stake, I enjoyed them trust and care that developed between them.

This novella has it all and is stamped with Ms. Kendig's signature writing style. You won't be sorry when you pick up this book, only that it will come to an end.

Eamon "Titanis" Straider is an Australian Special Air Service Corporal who has been assigned to work with the American Army Special Forces Raptor Team in Afghanistan. He is back in Australia living on his yacht where he has his security firm, Tri-S. Eamon, like all of the Raptor team members, is a big handsome fit warrior but is living with regrets and guilt over his perceived mistakes from wartime and an event that occurred when he was a teenager. He was born of wealth and is the son of a retired Prime Minister of Australia. His mom is always planning events on his huge yacht to get a chance to spend time with him since he lives life as a loner these days. There is a special event that is scheduled that he has no idea is centered around a veterans project close to his heart and is a surprise planned for him. But things go bad when an intruder and his team attack the yacht. It is a dangerous time of life and death struggles. This is a story about overcoming pain, facing regrets head on, rekindling old friendships with the promise of love, romance and realizing the importance of faith.

Ronie Kendig is seriously at the top of my "must read" author list. (Okay, she's tied.) And there's a very good reason for it. This. Author. Can. WRITE.

"Titanis" is emotional, tense, and romantic. I was SO excited to find out Kendig was writing Titanis a story to squeak into The Quiet Professionals series. This weaves into the series absolutely seamlessly. Perfection!!

*I was given an advanced copy of this book, but was not required to review it at all. These thoughts are completely my own. Because they're true. Because TITANIS.

Titanis was very good! It was a little short, but the story was still full of action and held my attention. I liked the main character and getting to know his story a little better. All in all, a great read and I am so glad I read it. Thanks, Aerykah, for loaning your copy to me. :D

Whooooo, that was a crazy ride! I was excited for Titanis' story, but both him and the female MC, Ellis, fell really flat to me. The story was super intense and gripping though, so I still enjoyed it.

Titanis by Ronie Kendig is full of suspense and romance as the hero and the heroine run for their lives. I really enjoyed how she allowed the characters to have an intertwined past. The suspense was on a boat while the main characters were running for their lives. I enjoyed how well Kendig captures the violence that occurs on the novel, but in a clean way. I can completely visual what is happening. It was also nice to see more familiar characters from the series this is part of.

Fans of the Quiet Professionals series by Ronie Kendig have a new reason to celebrate! Titanis, a Quiet Professionals novella, has recently been released and answers the question, “What about Eamon (Titanis) Straider?”. I have longed to know more about Eamon’s story and learn about this intriguing character. Titanis does just that…plus it packs that answer with plenty of heart-thudding danger and romance!

The setting and characters were great! If you have read the previous three books, Titanis will catch you up with what has been going on with Eamon and introduce a new situation for him to navigate. If you haven’t read the other books in the series, this novella will stand alone…HOWEVER…it does reference a pretty big spoiler for the series, so be aware that the books will need to be read in order if you plan to read the entire series.

Eamon and Ellis were great characters! They were both strong and smart in their own ways. There was lots of chemistry between these two, as well as plenty of questions about trust. I loved the connection and budding attraction that built between them. Titanis was a wonderful tale that masterfully combined intrigue, danger, and romance!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

One of the most well -developed and exciting novellas I’ve ever read is “Titanis” which begins after the betrayal of Lieutenant Brie Hastings and the death of mission teammate Corey Niehauer. Suffering trust issues and leaving the military Eamon Straider, referred to as the “Beast of Cape York” for forcibly throwing anyone invading his privacy off his super yacht the ViCross is coerced by his mother into agreeing to sponsor a special event for a delegation of political officials while she and her lovely, enigmatic companion Haley Warren are on board.

What he doesn’t know is that Haley in actuality is Lady Victoria Ellis Rostov-Leclair, a young woman who harbours a secret in their past. Only when Eamon’s yacht is held hostage by a vengeful gunman and his confederates does the Beast of Cape York live up to his reputation while struggling to save his heart from the young woman he’s promised to protect.

Set against an Australian backdrop this short but gripping novella answers the question about what happened to Eamon “Titanis” Straider after the betrayal of he and his mates. Fast-paced and action-packed the plot heats up as intensity and suspense soar with Eamon learning the truth behind Haley’s key role in one of his pet projects and being faced with betrayal again when the brother of a dead teammate holds his yacht and everyone on board hostage.

As present and past collide, the clash between Eamon and Haley takes on a new aspect when they’re forced to fight to survive after escaping the yacht. Although resistant to giving his heart again after having it shattered by lies and deception, he can’t withstand their attraction even while “the Beast of Cape York” struggles not only to keep them alive but to fight their chemistry.

Ronie Kendig as always creates complex and compelling characterizations even in this short story. Eamon “Titanis” Straider a tough former soldier is also a level-headed businessman from a wealthy, political family who can be thick-headed, gruff, and wary, but is also confident, perceptive and unruffled under stress. Lovely Haley Warren (aka Lady Ellis Rostov-Leclair) of royal blood is smart, strong and caring but filled with anxiety when Eamon is willing to sacrifice himself to free the hostages on his yacht. Both add realism and tension to this powerful and intriguing story.

Like all of Ronie Kendig’s work I love “Titanis” with its secrets, romance and action and will continue to read more of her books in future.

"I don't care who she is. I didn't approve her and had no foreknowledge that she was coming."

Eamon "Titanis" Straider has lived a life shrouded in privacy since leaving the world of special ops and debilitating memories. When his mother brings a lovely acquaintance aboard his yacht, his suspicions about her motives shift into overdrive; the young woman's background check comes back clear, but his gut feelings rarely lead him astray.

"Haley Warren" is terrified that Eamon Straider, dubbed "Beast of Cape York", will see through her ruse long before he learns why she is really on board his floating fortress. Will he ever speak to her again, but then again, he is hardly speaking to her now. It's been so many years, and of course she went by her true name, "Lady Ellis Rostov-Leclair" back when he began his role as her hero.

Eamon and Haley have little time to reminisce, for danger boards the ViCross and once again they are engaged in the fight of their lives. Enjoy Ronie Kendigs skills at "rapid-fire fiction", for "Titantis" moves at warp speed to bestow some much deserved closure upon this popular member of the "quiet professionals" team.

At last! If you’ve read the other books in Ronie Kendig’s Quiet Professionals series, you’ll know why fans have been clamouring for this book. And this novella certainly doesn’t disappoint. If you haven’t read the Quiet Professionals series, you’ll still be able to follow this novella, but you should be warned that it will give a major spoiler for the book three in the series, Falcon.

The first half of this novel was deceptively quiet, and yet still fraught with the kind of personal and interpersonal tension that Kendig is known for. Eamon ‘Titanis’ Straider is like a tightly coiled spring; one that coils tighter still when he emerges from his on-board pool to find Hayley Warren (aka Ellis Rostov-Leclair) staring at him as though she’s just watched Poseidon emerge from the waves.

Well, she kind of has. I’m pretty sure I would have done the same thing!

He’s certain she’s not who she says she is, and she knows she’s not who she says she is. He’s determined to figure out the truth, and she wishes she’d never agreed to the deception in the first place. But wait, there’s more!

The physical action that Kendig does so well explodes into the second half of the novel, chasing Eamon and Ellis across parts of the Northern Territory and bringing the novella to a nail-biting, pulse-pounding conclusion. Welcome to Australia, mates!

Just the Kendig fix I needed!

This book is by far my most favorite in the series. Titanis is introduced as a temporary member of a US Special Forces team in the first book of the series. He is a very lovable addition to the team. I am so glad that he got his own story. I just wish it hadn't ended! LOL. It was a joy to see Eamon "Titanis" Straider on his own turf fighting for those he cares about.

I have probably read this book about ten times now. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I hope that one day in the future Ronie will take Titanis on more adventures. :)

There is so much to like about this novella. Set in Northern Australia with an Aussie hero, Eamon Straider who is complex with a complicated past, lots of action, a bad-guy seeking revenge for his dead brother, and a love story with a lady, Hayley Warren, who is more than she first appears.

And Kendig does all this in 140 pages!

If you've read any of Ronie Kendig's stories you know it will be fast, lots of action and a plot that is challenging enough to keep the reader on their toes. This is no exception.

Straider is a super character; sure he's an Aussie which I love being one myself, he's big, very big but more of more importance to me is his complex personality. I reckon there is so much more Kendig can do with this guy and I hope she may have another story or 2 with him buzzing around her head.

There were a couple of things in this story that I thought stretched reality a little too much, one that is quite significant to the plot, and that's the reason for the 4 stars. However, they didn't stop me from throughly enjoying this story and as I said I hope Kendig gives us another Titanis story in the not too distant future.

I know when I read ANY of Ms. Kendig's books I will not be disappointed. After meeting Titanis in the previous Quiet Professionals, Raptor 6, Hawk and Falcon I immediately wanted to know all about Titanis. He was strong, silent and all Aussie.

When Eamon "Titanis" Straider was 15 years old he trying to protect Ellis Rostov-Leclair, when due to circumstances unforeseen Ellis is killed and Eamon has always held himself completely responsible.

Because of that experience and never wanting to feel "less than able" again, he goes into the military and becomes one of the Elite. But he realizes that when soldiers leave the military there are many things that they do not have access to because of cost or not wanting to admit they need the help. So his dream to provide a place for Vets to get short and long term care begins to form.

When his Mom invites a beautiful young woman to an event he is holding on his yacht he immediately wonders what her angle is. The more he is around her the more he questions whether she is on the up and up. And when his yacht is taken hostage by a man looking for revenge on Titanis for the death of his brother, Titanis wonders if his beautiful young guest has something to do with this.

They work together with God's help, to get everyone through this crisis and realize that God had a plan beyond the immediate safety of all on the yacht.

I felt this was not nearly long enough. So Ms. Kendig I am putting in my order now for the extended version :)

HOW in the world did Ms. Kendig do it?! She squeezed SO much sparking chemistry, heart stopping suspense, page turning fast-action, and the most satisfying happy ending into a novella sized story. I feel like a school girl gushing over her first crush. Seriously, have you people met Eamon?! This bigger-than-life sized character got all of our hearts pumping in his appearances in Ms. Kendig’s other (most fabulous) books. This is HIS oh-so-squealy story that we have all been waiting for. *happy sigh*
Such great tension and subterfuge revolving Eamon and Ellis – danger lurks! Eamon has his past he needs to deal with and Ellis is hiding something. It was a great storyline- especially how the past was woven into their lives today. LOVED it all! (and his mom- I was laughing half the time at her comments to him!) Another Kendig bookshelf keeper!

Titanis: A Quite Professionals Novel ( The Quite professionals BK 4)

Titanis aka Eamon Strider, who is part of Team Raptor has left the military to start his private security business, but he is carrying a lot of guilt from things that happened during the war. His mom asked to host a party on his yacht and with her is a beautiful woman that captures his attention little does he know that Ellis is a girl that he used to know, but due to her named being changed he doesn’t recognize her. In comes the bad guys to crash the party.
Will Eamon and Ellis get out alive? Who is the guy trying to kill Titanis and why is he trying to kill him? Will Eamon forgive Ellis? Well you have to read it for yourself to find out.

This one felt a little like Die Hard revisited. Although I am not a big fan of novellas because they generally don't give me enough of a story, I did enjoy this one about Titanis. There were a lot of action scenes which can be somewhat confusing trying to visualize what is happening. I would have preferred more interaction between the characters. Still read it in just a few hours as it's almost impossible to put down a Ronie Kendig book!

Ronie Kendig pumps so much action and tension into each page that this novella lacks nothing!
Eamon was my favorite in the last full length novel and I was really eager to read his story.
It was so worth it!
Like........Eamon. need I say more? ;)

Ronie Kendig did it again. As with all her books, there is non stop action, mystery, intrigue, romance, excitement and just an all around "can't put this book down" experience. Titanis was a little short but it was jam packed with adventure. I highly recommend reading this and any other Ronie Kendig book. You will not be disappointed.

ALL THE THINGS AND MORE. Like- what even. I am so glad that Eamon got his own book- even if only a novella- Ronie managed to pack so much intensity and goodness into such a small book!
He is one of my favourite characters- and Ellis- what a doll. Oh, how I loved her!
Action, intrigue, romance & GLORY are what you can expect to find in this seriously legit novella, Titanis.

Good read. Cool plot with good suspense that was perfect for the novella format.

One HUGE incongruity with the rest of the series with Eamon's mother but if you can forgive that painful blunder and pretend like you never knew she was supposed to be about 10 years for the grave at this point, everything is hunky-dory.

I think the story line would have done better in a full book format. Because more story had to be packed into a novella, things felt a bit cheesy and cliche. Ronie is a wonderful writer no doubt. This story just didn't do it for me. Things felt a bit forced and rushed.
