It is impossible not to encounter the Holy Spirit while prayerfully reading Defending the Feminine Heart: A Masculine Wall for God's Daughters. In it, author Jeff Voth writes specifically to men about one of the most important, yet somehow also overlooked, aspects of Biblical masculinity: God's Daughters. Voth quickly establishes the need-to-know perspective of viewing all women as daughters of The Creator and biblically supports his position from Adam to you and me, with Jesus serving as the critical turning point from defeat to defense in this timeline.

Jeff writes alongside his wife, Lori, who helps to provide a crucial view from women that men often need to hear. Because the Voths write and respond to many of the chapters together as a godly couple, Defending the Feminine Heart: A Masculine Wall for God's Daughters would be a wonderful read for women as well. Although the theme of the book is clearly to encourage men to rise up to stand in defense for the ladies in their lives, women who read this will be able to stronger identify their worth in the Lord's eyes, recognize a man seeking to serve as a protector for her, and assist her father, husband, brother, or friend in leading the spiritual household he is called to.

Despite the fact it can seem like Voth has rather harsh feelings towards Adam in the Garden, he explains the fall of man in a way that highlights his inability to protect what - rather who - God created for him. However, Voth reassures readers that there is an ever-present hope in the second Adam, Jesus Christ, and that we, as men, can learn to stand as a wall of protection for all the women in our lives. In fact, Voth explains the steps for men to identify and reconstruct this wall and provides authentic examples of how some men, specifically Jesus and those following him, have stepped up to serve as a wall for God's Daughters in various moments throughout history. Through the book, God speaks to men wherever they are in life, convicts and converts the hearts of "knuckleheads", and leads men to recognize one of the strongest components of their spiritual callings: defending the feminine heart.

I'm a girl, and this is for guys, but I needed it in my life because I needed hope to believe that real men out there want to protect instead of hurt and use a girl. And yeah, it's divine, it's got all the flavors of God in there to help change a heart deeply.
