S. R. Crawford is a young author in her early twenties. At only eighteen years of age, she published her first novel, to later re-release it as a Remastered version - Ash Born. Her fantasy series, The Eternity Series, was the start of her author journey. This series features a horde of powerful characters on opposing sides of an immortal world war, whilst going through other struggles in their day to day lives. The first two are available for purchase. Alongside her love for fantasy writing, and other worlds, S. R. Crawford is now branching out into Young Adult fiction with very real themes that are close to her heart - mental illness, hardships and existentialism.
After having gone through depression herself, in order to get out of it, she wrote and published a self-help book about ways in which to get relief from anxiety, depression and stress. Now, she has started her own local support group, spoken out at events about mental health awareness and blogs and vlogs about how to get relief from suffering and better your life.
Her passions are always centred around writing, and although her genres may change, they will always have one theme in common - growing strong from adversity.

I read the original version of this novel, No Secrets, and loved it. So, when I learned that it had been updated, improved and republished, I indulged myself, and it is one of my favourite reads of the year to date.
Books are magical, they involve you in worlds and scenarios that aren’t plausible, but when done well have you invested and believing. They introduce you to characters you fall in love with, villains you hate, and mythical creatures that create an engaging and interesting read. Ash born is well written.
For me, Ash born was like wrapping myself in a comfort blanket and indulging in a box of chocolates. It is hard to categorize because it encompasses so many genres, young adult, mystery, fantasy, romance to name but a few. Once I picked it up and started reading, I read through the night until I finished it. The world building and character construction were convincing, and relatable. The author has an exceptional understanding of character development, carefully crafting each as an individual and creating a credible plot which shows how they interact and cope with different situations.
The novel was beautifully written, with some wonderful imagery. The plot keeps you on edge and guessing, never quite sure what will happen next. I highly recommend this book, and can’t wait to read the next in the sequel.
