Erwin et Armin se sont sacrifiés pour permettre à leurs camarades de vaincre Reiner, Bertolt et le Titan bestial. A présent, quelle nouvelle découverte attend les survivants ?
Hajime Isayama (諫山 創 Isayama Hajime, born 1986) is a Japanese manga artist from Ōyama, Ōita. His first and currently ongoing serial, Attack on Titan, has sold over 22 million copies as of July 2013. He has mentioned Tsutomu Nihei, Ryōji Minagawa, Kentaro Miura, Hideki Arai and Tōru Mitsumine as artists he respects, but stated that the manga that had the biggest influence on him was ARMS.
Finally we get some answers and the whole thing is finally starting to make sense. Also, the flashback chapters have been amazing to read, and I hope we'll see more of those. Can't wait for the next chapter to come out.
Finally answers and more world building. A gut wrenching choice is needed but we finally enter the basement When will we ever know enough to face our enemies?
From a rollercoaster start in terms of emotions, we finally move into revelations about Eren his father and the world outside of the walls.
Everyone you meet will be parted from you one day.
Make regrets impossible. That is your mission.
Who was in the wrong? Me? Or this world? It was probably both.
Aw, man! Decisions, decisions, decisions. There's a lull in the action but boy is there drama! The first half of this one is a serious tearjerker, with the second half giving us some of the answers we've been searching for this whole time. The flashback isn't over though and will continue into the next volume. So here's a toast to Volume 22 and onward I go!
The last volume made me sad, but this one ripped my heart to shreds. Why did the death have to be prolonged in that way?? I want to cry. Anyways, another great volume and this one finally gives you a lot of answers about the history of titans, so that was really fun. :)
I wonder which of us was in the wrong. Was it me? Was it the world? It was probably both. I was foolish and ignorant, and the world was unfair and mad.
Ok, immaginavo che Armin non morisse. Ok, qualche risposta, ma troppo poco ancora e non so se mi stiano soddisfacendo del tutto. Comunque sempre bello leggere AoT.

This is the big chapter where everything gets revealed as to whats happening. They go to the basement ad discover a photograph and diaries and it details Grisha's real life outside the walls and the history of the Eldians and the Marley-ans and what happened that led to King Fritz, the original owner of the titan power to close off the PARADIS ISLAND and what the real history and farce history by the Marley govt was. His losses, his upbringings are all explained here and then we have him becoming a part of "Eldian Restoration movement" and their whole motive and the birth of Zeke and his betrayal to Grisha and what happened that sent him to this island! This issue was so heavy and like changes the perspective of the full series, everything is explained here!! And like raises the stakes even further, its one of those moments where we learn we really didn't know anything of what the author really planned all along and now that we have, the stakes and feel of the series in on another level! The art is gorgeous!
the most stressful part was when the were going to make a choice between Erwin and Armin I swear to god I was crying. although we are getting answers but to be honest someone has to explain me the history part I didn't get anything it's so hard to understand. with the names and everything. someone cmon and help me
Story Once again I was able to read this well before it's in print in the US thanks to Crunchyroll. I decided to squeeze this one in at the last minute to bring my read count for 2016 up to a nice even 90 books.
I've been looking forward to this one for awhile as the main reason I picked up the manga in the first place was to finally found out what's in that damn basement. So if you're wondering when that happens and don't already know, it's in this volume. Well partially at least. Those events happen in the last two chapters, and there looks to be a lot more to come in the next volume.
There is definitely a lot more questions answered (although now I have some new questions) than in some of the previous novels. Now that the basement is finally open, I'm pretty eager to see where things go from here.
Artwork There wasn't a ton of fast paced action in this one, which always seems to be the parts where Mr. Isayama's art is the weakest. I think once again it's decent, but I look forward to seeing it animated in the future more.
The first half of the volume actually continued the improvement to the storytelling that started last volume, but then the creator messed it up again in the second half. I only find this book engaging when it focuses on the three main characters: Eren, Mikasa and Armin. Whenever it goes off with other characters or engages in flashbacks it just becomes nearly unreadable. Basically, I want to see the three kids fighting giants.
What I don't want to see is page after page of Eren's father living in some stupid steampunk world. What I don't want to see is the creator ripping off M. Night Shyamalan's The Village. (And of all things to rip off!! Why not a good movie?)
This volume was a mixture of sad, reflective moments, and then finally getting some backstory and explanations about the world and origins of titans.
It’s devastating to think about the weight of lives and decisions that each characters carries on their shoulders already, and they’re just beginning to truly understand their place in the world. All of them have been through so much already just fighting to find answers, only to find out that their battle is just beginning. This series is so depressing in the best way, I can’t stop thinking about this world and the pressure and responsibility of the Survey Corps within it.

I was sort of guessing this reveal a good while before it was told us, but it's still a pretty well executed twist. It basically turns the entire premise of the story in around its head. And however much I could have been guessing, I never had much context for the state of the outside world, so it was nice to see some of it and to hear other things being revealed to us.
"Captain, have you ever heard of the ocean? It's this giant lake, that no matter how far you look... it stretches to the end of the horizon... but all of it, is made of salt water [...] We said that we'd go see it one day... the ocean that lies on the other side of this wall."
شرایط نه چندان غیرعادی و درگیریهای نژادی آشنا حتی بیشتر غافلگیرم کرد. the cruel joke of it all, was that the ones that were trying to help the people inside of the walls desperately, ended up being their worst nightmare. 🙂
sometimes i just wonder... how has Isayama come up with this perfect, extraordinary plot that slaps you left and right in the face with these flawless turn of events, that are all the examples of real life?
or, do you ever wonder how heartbreaking it is that erwin trusted levi with the choice he'd make and in the end levi had to not choose erwin? because i do. it's devastating. i'm devastated. 😭
erwin not getting to find out the true story behind everything and not getting to go to that basement is actually the loss of my life. 😭😭
