A dragon as a handyman? Ridiculous.

At least Liam Steel thinks so. Sure, he and his crew of newly-awakened metal dragons are experts at building things, but after being sunk at the bottom of a frozen ocean, all they want is to find the mates they were sailing in search of in the first place, and Liam isn't sure how that can happen while he's playing in the dirt. Until he meets his first client, a sweet, curvy, no-nonsense business-woman busy taking care of everyone but herself. His heart screams 'mate', and he's ready to get his hands on more than her yard.

Kate Hinton doesn't know what to make of the beefcake Rent-A-Dragon sent over to help with her yard. Impossibly tall with soulful teal eyes, dark hair, and the features of a male model, she's pretty sure he should be walking a runway rather than digging trenches in her yard. And the way he looks at her? Like nothing else matters in the world. But the more she gets to know her kind, friendly, amazingly efficient handyman, the more she is realizing he's not from her world.

He lives in a remodeled castle. He doesn't know certain modern words. And he definitely doesn't understand the rules of modern courtship. But somehow, Kate is finding herself falling in love with this 'dragon' all the same, and finding out there is a whole other world outside her own. One full of secrets, and danger, and maybe even the love of a lifetime.

Steel is the first book in the Rent-A-Dragon series! It contains stubborn dragons, action-packed fights, and hot, steamy dragon romance. Enjoy!

I am yet to find my favorite dragon book...the spot is still open...Sigh...

This was ok, not bad at all but I constantly felt that instead of reading #1 of series, I am reading #4 or 5 because there are so many things which are not explained. Of course, that would be Terry's hope that people would read more of the series to know but for me #1 failed to make the impression that would left me want more...I guess what I am trying to say is, there wasn't enough details to make me feel 'hooked' to the series....

But I will keep this series under consideration if I ever want to read quick, dragon-romance which doesn't require much thinking, so there is that...

Aegis, the Emerald Dragon in the Awakened series is tasked with his mate, Opal and another awakened dragon, Citrine to help Liam aka Steel, a metal dragon find his mate in "Steel (Rent-A-Dragon". Because Liam, Magnus and Titus all metal dragons are so good with their hands (fixing things), Citrine suggest they create a handyman business and it worked. When Liam shakes his client's hand, his dragon knows Kate is his MATE!

Liam was such a sweet and sexy man/dragon in this story. Once he found out that Kate was his mate, he listened to the rules of courting her and never wavered once to claiming Kate. Now hardheaded Kate was another story! She's jaded, human, independent and just floored when she finds out who and what Liam is... a steel dragon! But being kidnapped changed that story and FAST! So follow Kate and Liam discover what keeps them grounded and ... enough... read it!

I look forward to reading Titus and Magnus' stories too

Eh... this is definitively Not For Me™. I'm sure a lot of people would love this and there's nothing inherently wrong with the writing, I'm just very rarely willing to overlook the super old-fashioned nature of this type of romance hero's personality.

Now this, this is what I look for in a damn dragon smut series.

1. The smut of course.
2. A not to complicated plot, but it still keeps you guessing.
3. Some kind of damsel in distress moment, or two. (cause that's how I like it.)

I wouldn't read this series until you've read the Onyx Dragon series first. AKA the gem dragons or some shit. Because there would be major spoilers in this book if you don't read those first.

Steel will definitely leave you breathless, throbbing in all the right places and in serious need of a cigarette by the time you get through it. This novel is not just steamy but it is action packed, filled with sense of humor, and the romance is just out of this world literally.

Join both Kate & Liam on a journey in Steel: Rent-A-Dragon as they work together to fix up Kate’s yard since she hired him as her handyman. A very hot and sexy one at that. Kate is a no-nonsense woman who lives to please everyone around her all but herself when in comes Liam a dragon shifter who in search of his mate and true love.

After years of being frozen under sea when him and his crew ship sinks, he wakes up to find himself working for another dragon shifter who is more familiar and more experience in the world of today. Who not only helps him but his crew as well get accustom to the new world. In comes Kate looking for a contractor/handyman to fix up her yard of a mess that closely resembles a junkyard before Liam begins working on it.

As he works on her yard to make it more presentable and decent, he and Kates starts a daily routine that would seem normal when you hire a handyman who is working on your yard. You offer them dinner at the end of a hard day of work but one night when his battery fail to start and he is stuck for the night after a hot steamy kiss between he and Kate, all he wants to do is escape and not ruin the courtship between them both.

But seems like his truck battery had other plans as he is forced to stay the night at Kate’s home which soon turns into a hot steamy night of love making as their connection grows all the more stronger as they bond not only sexually but intimately as well. Bonding one to another that strengthens their relationship.

They soon find themselves within a relationship, although Liam keeps referring to himself as a mythical creature a dragon, Kate goes along for the ride. Assumes is just a part of his cute charming personality till his crew mate comes to fix his truck and unintentionally spills the bean thinking Kate & Liam are serious when in truth they are not as yet. The spilling of the beans soon lead to trouble in paradise. As she fires Liam and kicks him off her property. Now thinking he was some nutt job or worst. Kate tries to move on but Liam gives her time to cool off so that he could talk to her and explain to her what was actually going on. During his absence, Kate runs into a bit of trouble from another dragon who was out for revenge and chooses Kate as his target.

A rogue dragon who too was in search of a mate and chose to go after Liam’s mate Kate. Big mistake on the rogue dragon part. As he fights for the safety and security of his mate as well as her heart and trust which was not much trouble since she was already in love with him but she was still in danger. And Liam would do whatever it took to protect his true love including putting an end to the dragon rogue who seek to steal her from him. With the help of his crew mates and the dragon who was his guide, he saves Kate and their true love becomes stronger than ever as they mate and they become truly official.

WARNING: This is a Paranormal Romance/Erotica novel that is meant for MATURE AUDIENCE ONLY (18+)

4.5 stars!

I loved Terry's Awakened Dragon series, and cannot express how excited I am about the new Rent-A-Dragon series! We meet the next group of dragons, the metal dragons, who have been released from a frozen, sunken ship into the current world. Unlike the Awakened Dragons, these guys are not collared, so they are free to use their powers. Like the Awakened Dragons, they too are looking for their mates.

Using their new business, Rent-A-Dragon, Liam, the Steel Dragon, and his crew hire themselves out as handymen to meet women and get a better handle on human interactions. Liam agrees to help Kate clean and landscape her large yard. He shows up on day one to work, shakes Kate's hand, and immediately knows he's found his mate. But doing the job, and convincing Kate that they are meant to be together -not to mention that dragons exist- is going to be quite the challenge.

Liam and Kate are so fun together. Lots of laughs and great chemistry. I cannot wait for the next installment of this series!

Well this is a wonderful spin off of the Awakened Dragon series. The metal dragons have been awakened from the sea. Liam was the Captain of the ship that sank. He and his crew have now been taken under the wing so to speak of the Awakened dragons. The plan is to find them mates enter Rent a Dragon.
Kate needs help fast and turns to Rent A Dragon, where she meets Liam who is assigned to help. Little does she know he really is a dragon and is bringing trouble with him.
Liam knows Kate is for him, he just doesn't know how to tell her. His old enemy the Gold dragon tries to steal his mate. Why is he doing this and is someone else behind it?
Will the past feud cause Liam to loose his mate? Will Kate accept who and what Liam really is?

Awesome as usual

Obviously I like Bolryder's books and this was no exception, but I did have a moment of utter horror in this one. Honestly, I've read the same thing a thousand times in a thousand different books, but this time it just hit home

All Kate needed was someone to do some work around her house, so she hires a handyman from a company called Rent-A-Dragon. She gets Liam Steel a gorgeous man that she soon wants to keep in her life, but she has been so focused on her career she's not sure how to express herself anymore. All it takes is a handshake for Liam to realize that Kate is his mate, and he will do anything to have her forever. A dragon from Liam's past will try to come between Liam and Kate, but Liam will fight to protect her. This is a sexy, sweet read with some laughs and fascinating characters. I couldn't put this book down once I started reading, I loved it!

This was an enjoyable and pretty simple shifter romance. I loved all of the dragons but the other characters felt a bit generic. It had an extreme instalove feel to it and I was left wanting more depth and a deeper connection between the hero and heroine. It still made for a quick and uncomplicated romance. I'll give the next book in this series a try. Especially since it was offered as a kindleunlimited.

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

I had such fun with Steel. The story is charming with a touch of danger, the dragons are of course sexy as sin and a bit clueless as to modern day women and the villains are bad but not as bad as the mysterious person is. Overall, this is going to be a fun ride into this new series.

Liam and his crew are metal dragons, ancient beings who left their land by ship in order to search out their mates. Their ship sank, burying them in an icy tomb. Through the Awakened Dragons, these dragons have been rescued and placed under the guidance of three members of the Awakened Dragons. The men are still looking for their mates – and ending up in brawls more often than not. A plan has to be put into place to ease them into the modern day human world a bit more efficiently. Since all the men are skilled in building and fixing things the Rent-A-Dragon handyman service was born.

Kate is their first client. Human, overworked with a yard that needs some serious help. Liam is assigned to her and the sparks begin to fly at their first touch. While Liam realizes she is his mate, Kate has no clue that dragons even exist let alone that she’s destined to be with one. Sure the guy is hot but she’s been down that road before and no man is ever going to convince her that she’s beautiful or that he won’t stop working once the “I love yous” start being said. Yeah, Kate’s been burned before. Liam is determined to win his lady, and he will not give up on convincing his mate that they belong together. Circumstances are about to make everything a bit more complicated.

I enjoyed Steel very much. It’s full of banter, danger, sexy times, mystery and more of the unique dragons we’ve come to expect from Terry Bolryder. Even though this series is a spin-off, there is a bit of world building in this first story but that is easily done through conversation and the introduction of characters. While we do meet some, let’s call them rivals of the dragons, there is also a mysterious person who made an appearance and was never explained away. I’m thinking there’s more to learn about that.

I would recommend this story and this series to any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader. Fun characters, a bit of mystery, some danger and a couple that you’ll enjoy. Now it’s time to move on to the next story in this series.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

After the Dragons of New York and the Awakened Dragons, we have a new group that is even older, constantly compared with Vikings. They were trapped and just awakened, and are looking for mates, and Aegis and Citrine are the ones helping them and teaching them about the modern world. In this first book of the new series we learn about the Steel Dragon, who is working as a handyman in order to get out in the world and find his mate, and he does at the first try. Kate is a little lost, and she doesn't even know what she is going to do to solve her life, and the rent-a-dragon is her last option, only she gets more than she was asking for when she hires a dragon.

In this new series, we have dogs instead of cats, the new dragons are incredibly old fashioned and nice, and the relationship between Kate and Liam is sweet. Liam tries very hard to be everything Kate needs/wants, and their relationship starts going very well, then things get complicated, secrets get out, and then everything is solved. I'm liking these dragons of Terry's shifter world.

I have loved Terry's stories from the first book of hers I read. I love the overlap between series, and it is great to see some favourites back from 'The Awakened Dragons' series in Liam and Kate's story. I enjoyed that there is mystery involved, wondering about the other dragons that have appeared, and the mystery of other strange happenings that don't really fit. Can't wait for book two 'Iron'
Even though this is a continuation, and you don't need to read he other series, I think it is better if you do, just to help you understand some of the reasons Aegis acts the way he does. 'The Awakened Dragons' is available in a boxed set now.

Liam has awakened after been frozen in a ice lake for centuries, now living with other dragons that are helping him and his crew Magnus and Titus, acclimatise back into society and find their mates. Aegis has decided to help get the dragons out in the world that a handy man crew doing odd jobs is the way to go. Citrine decides to set up a business name of 'Rent-a-Dragon'. Kate has never been successful in love, men have done nothing but destroy her trust and let her down. With the knowledge that all men let her down, Kate has thrown herself into her career, unfortunately that means she's had no time to maintain her property, especially the yard. With disgruntled neighbours telling her to do something about her yard, Kate hires 'Rent-A-Dragon' to fix her yard. When Liam and Kate meet the attraction is instant, but Liam believes a beauty like Kate would already be mated, while Kats believes aLiam with his model looks would never be interested in someone like her.

While the Rent-A-Dragon premise is pretty basic - dragon shapeshifter bonds to a human female, the execution is a bit out of the norm. Typically, dragons are elemental in some way (though I suppose it could be argued these three are absolutely still element-attached) and they have a sudden meet-cute and boom! Papa-dragon wants to play hide-the-salami for eternity. Interestingly enough, the concept of potentially immortal(?) dragons and definitely-mortal female mates isn’t really addressed. Nonetheless, it doesn’t really feel as though it’s missing.

Liam is his crew’s leader and while they’re a small crew, the dynamics between them make it clear they’re more like brothers than just your average crew - a fact I enjoyed. While how fast Liam jumped on his mate for being “his”, I feel his story was setting up for a more in-depth backdrop that would prove deeper with each following book (you don’t really see this until you get well into book 2 with Magnus). Liam wasn’t bad but I will admit I didn’t really get much of his personality at all as an individual in his story and I feel like besides him being the dependable and protective male, the rest was just...missing.

While each story could be read separately, it definitely makes more sense going into Magnus’ story if you’ve read Liam’s. I’m hoping as the books continue (into the Date-A-Dragon series) that we see more of Liam’s character fleshed out. It should have been in his own tale but left me wanting in that department. Hence, as you’ll see, I rank Magnus’ story higher on stars than Liam’s.

Oh my gods what a book! I truly love this new series by Terry
Bolryder. They are so well-written and do wonderful to read.
And what a new perspective she has on dragons. These
dragons were basically frozen in time and now are in our
time. I am so ready or the next book.

This is Liam’s story and how he meets the mate intended for
him Kate. I love how they meet ass he goes to the castle
where he lives to hire a handyman. And she ends up with
a dragon. How cool is that. There is this instant attraction
when they se each other, but Liam dismisses it. it is not till
he shakes her hand that his dragon lets him know she is
meant for him. But he is not the only dragon after her. So he
has to protect her and it is a good thing he does. There is
something strange going on and I am still not sue what it is.
I hope the net book shows me what it is. I cannot wait to see
another of those big guys fall.

Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you
enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book,
please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it
when you do; they value your opinions too

More sexy old-fashioned dragons, yeah!

This series follows right after the Awakened Dragons series. We get to see Opal, Emerald and Citrine and meet the metal dragons whose ship sank long ago freezing them also.

There is not as much excitement and adventure in this story as in other dragon books by Terry Bolryder, but a nice escalation with a little action. Liam is cute, hardworking and willing to do anything to win his mate once he finds her. There is another dragon who comes into the picture, but I won't say more, so I don't give it away. Read the series in order if you prefer to have them happen in chronological order: Double Dragons (super hot and action-packed), Tiger Protectors (very similar to Double Dragons), and then the Awakened Dragons, which takes place right before this series. If you like dragons, hot scenes, good character development and some cute pets, then you will love these books. This series is a little milder in heat and action, but still quite good. Try them and see. Enjoy!

Liam is desperate to find himself a mate... Desperate enough to get himself talked into working as a handyman for his packs new business 'Rent-a-Dragon'. He may be a strong willed metal dragon, but he's willing to do what it takes to find his soulmate. Kate on the other hand is a working class woman just in need of a handyman willing to clean up her yard, not a lover let alone a mate. But when their eyes meet, sparks fly and Liam will do whatever he has to to have Kate become his intended, even if it means hiding his true nature.

What a cute paranormal romance! Terry Bolryder definitely has a unique idea here, with not only dragon shifters but dragons that each have their own special 'skill set'. While the plot was easy to follow and the writing relatively simplistic, all the factors were still there to make a fun story. It was a nice light read in between more intense, emotionally wrought novels. I look forward to reading the next few books in this enjoyable series.

This was a quick and enjoyable read. There is an author's note at the beginning of the e-book stating that this series is a follow-up to the Awakened Dragons series. True to her word, however, I didn't feel like I was missing anything by not reading the other series first.

In my brief experience reading shifter romances, I have found that I normally prefer ones that lean more toward the animalistic so I wasn't sure that I wouldn't like this one. What saved it for me was that, while the dragons seem to ally themselves with certain crews, there isn't the feel of a full-blown supernatural mafia that I've found in other shifter series. There is also a bit of "competence porn" to the book, which is something that I am attracted to in a plot.

I don't think I will read this series straight through, as is my tendency, but I think these books will be fun to pick up and read as a palate cleanser between more overly dramatic books.

The best think about Amazon Unlimited is that you might find a fantastic book that you might either wise, never have purchased. The book that I found is titled Steel (Rent-a- Dragon).
If only this wasn’t fiction. I would have immediately put in an urgent add for one. I would have torn my house down even if it was newly built just to get one.
Liam “Steel” is one hot dragon out to find his mate. So, with the assistance of Aegis, the Emerald Dragon in the Awakened series he just might get that chance.
Terry Bolryder the author of Steel is a new author for me. After reading this title I followed up on renting her other titles in this series.
So, if you’re looking for hot and wild Dragons and stubborn to boot, then Steel the first in Terry Bolryder new Rent-a-Dragon series will start you on to a wild road of action and hot romance.

This was a tame but sweet read. I liked how simple Kate and Liam were as characters and while Kate's reaction didn't quite ring true with me, I liked that the author made an effort to write a semi-believable response to the dragon reveal.

Liam's character was another source of like-dislike. I adored how thoughtful and cautious he was, always putting Kate's wants and needs above his own, but he lacked that Alpha-male fire that usually gives books like this heat. Titus and Magnus made up for that in places but the story overall just lacked...dominance. Even the 'baddies' didn't give me any tingles.

Kudos, however, to Bolryder for being able to use commas correctly. There's nothing I hate more than a book riddled with comma splices.
