As Clay Bay gets ready for its first annual dog show, Chef Claire’s Golden Retrievers, Al and Dente, get kidnapped and appear to be long gone. As she, along with Suzy and Josie, embark on a mission to find and rescue them, a new murder case opens up that has everyone scratching their head. And when someone tries to kill the woman who’s in town to judge the dog show events take a further turn for the worse. The situation gets even stranger when a reporter with a penchant for doing hit pieces arrives in town at the invitation of Suzy’s mother. And when Suzy and Josie find themselves in her direct line of fire, they are forced to fight back in an attempt to protect their reputations as well as remind the reporter that they are two women not to be messed with. The Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mysteries features two of the smartest and funniest lead female protagonists to hit the cozy mystery scene in a very long time, and Suzy and Josie’s affection for food and their boundless love and devotion to their dogs puts this new series in the don’t miss category. The Case of the Graceful Goldens is book 7 and the latest installment in this fast-paced and funny series that affectionately focuses on dogs, food, and the natural beauty of the Thousand Islands region.
Thanksgiving. a time for food, friends, family and ..... dognapping?! The weekend after Thanksgiving Clay Bay plans on having their first dog show, before that happens though Chef Claire, Suzy and Josie are preparing to host a Thanksgiving meal in the restaurant for those that are on their own (or have some other reason why they would not be preparing their own feast), whilst getting the last bits (1 hundred loaves any one!) Chef Claire's two Golden Retrievers Al and Dente are Dognapped. As if that wasn't bad enough - the judge for the show is nearly killed! Now Suzy (along with the new Chief of Police) needs to track down the ne'er do wells before anyone else (or any more dogs) end up 6 feet under.
I enjoy this series. I like the setting, the characters and the plot. I enjoy the fact that the characters are often found in each book. In this book the chef’s Goldens are stolen and Suzie and Josie et al try to find the missing dogs. They do but a murder occurs. Their town hosts a dog show and bring in a guest judge who owns 2 prized Goldens. Then two more murders occur. It was a little tricky to find out who the murderer was. I’ll be reading the next book in the series.
I love B.R. Snow's doggie mysteries. I love the characters in the series. This one had quite a twist in the end, which I did not see coming. Plus I love that it has some great funny happenings.
I'm so glad I found this series I love all the characters you will laugh out loud and cry too but you will fall in love with them too I can't wait till the next book
