A blizzard traps us within these cabin walls… And Ciaran’s hands trap me beneath his rock-hard body. He may have a near-death wound, But one look in his eyes reveals the truth: Nothing will stop him from claiming me.
A normal man would have died long before I happened to pass by. But Ciaran is far from normal. He’s a tattooed hulk, a Greek god of dark leather and heady musk and undeniable sex appeal. And it will take a hell of a lot more than this to send him to the grave.
But despite his strength, he does need my help. The storm raging around us is worsening and his injury requires medical attention. There’s no time to get to a hospital – we have to get indoors now.
Too bad the closest shelter is a tiny cabin in the middle of nowhere.
Trapped within, I do the best I can to provide everything I can for him. But when he wakes up and looks at me with clear eyes, It’s obvious that he wants something more than I’m giving.
He wants my body. He wants my heart. He wants my submission.
And he’ll have them all, one way or another. When he commands me to bend over, I have no choice but to obey.
OBEY: Lucky Skulls MC is a full-length, standalone bad boy romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhangers. Comes with an additional bonus book.
I live in rural Ohio with my husband and our two dogs. I love the woods, my wonderful hubby, and reading (duh!). I've been a romance fan forever, and one day I decided I had to try writing it for myself! I hope you like my work!
This was a pretty good book that I liked. Elle is a struggling singer heading home and is caught in a snow storm . She stops to try to get a signal on her phone and hears a noise. She finds Ciaran the president of Lucky Skulls MC in a ditch half frozen after being hit over the head and left for dead. She gets him in her car and she found a cabin and nurses him back to health while they develops feelings for each other. A rival motorcycle club wants Ciaran dead and he knows that it is dangerous to bring Elle into it. This was a good read this was an instant love story and they get hot and heavy. This book had a lot of action in it. I liked both of these character's they were meant for each other. This was my first time reading this author this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
40%... I made it to 40% before I couldn't do it anymore.
I saw the reviews, I should've heeded all the "dnf's" but I still started this shit anyway. So now I get to add my own dnf review because F that book.
Seriously, don't read it. It was so poorly written and thought out I wanted to bash my head against a wall...like what? Honestly I'm confused on how the rating could be this high. I have no sympathy for this author because she seriously needs to team up with someone who can actually write or try a new profession because never again.
Let's not get started on the crappy characters. I could no longer do it at the death of his Ma and the casual way he just kept it pushing, talk about sociopaths jeezuz. I was already annoyed with how unfeeling he was towards his brother and then the deaths of his 'boy's' who he supposedly grew up with but his mother?... I had enough, unacceptable.
This review is only for Obey; I did not read the bonus book, Heat, that is included.
I would not recommend this book. The heroine, Elle, finds the Hero, Ciaran, near death in a snow filled ditch during a snowstorm. What follows is a series of cliches, contrived conveniences, and an instalove that makes no sense. Girl meets biker/MC leader, biker is in the middle of a turf war with his brother/rival, girl gets kidnapped, biker saves her. This, and the instalove "romance", take place over less than a week. There are a hundred other books with this plot line, many of them better than Obey. The writing is amateurish, and the characters are poorly developed.
I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 only because I did finish it.
This was a HUGE letdown and I ended up DNFing at around 60%
Why you ask? well I'll tell you: (RANT INCOMING)
- the book starts off with an interesting premise, a struggling singer off to visit her parents pulls over during a snow storm and finds an unconscious hunk, who she saves, interesting right?
NO.
- First off, the blurb led me to believe they'd be holed up in a place bonding and that there would be a dom type situation when they bond and he bends her to his will and wants her submission.... expect the cabin part is BARELY a part of it and most of the book happens on the road or on the run and he tries to sex her up once there and when she's not into it, stops and never tries again. (which is fine, consent and all, but the book literally leads you to believe that the cabin is where he makes her his) ugh.
- Next we have Elle. Elle is annoying AF and naive to the point of being ridiculous. I get it she's innocent but how dumb does she have to be? she goes on about "not being a hussy" but sleeps with the ML after like NO time at all with very little prompting and no protection. She says she loves him after knowing him for 3 days. She does everything to take care of a guy who does not seem interested in her aside from her innocent looks and body. We're told she wants to be a singer but she also can't keep a job and doesn't seem to have actually done anything to pursue her career? Seriously? then when shit gets real she's all "we have to go to the police" over and over .... after being told multiple times that they're dirty cops and it's not going to help! Also, when an important character does she's all "I don't want to wear dead people clothes".... THAT WAS YOUR TAKEAWAY??
- Next we have our ML, Ciaran.... who is a whole lot of nothing! He's supposed to be this badass biker dude... but he's just kinda there, does not seem to be a good leader and is basically just hot and bland. he doesn't seem to care about Elle aside from the fact he thinks she's hot and even plans to take her car and leave her stranded so he can get back to his turf war. we're supposed to believe he's this big guy in a gang / club but he has a handful of men, no real business and like 2 locations that are his, no real guns ammo or plans? none of that makes any of this seem important or dire! Also the whole, he's a killer thing? his bro sent some guy to kill him, so he kills the kid in self defense and THAT is the start of the war? isn't that like a regular thing that would happen in a gang situation???? (oh and the kid Ciaran kills isn't even important? so whats the point??
- HIS MOTHER. Ok so here's where you lost me totally. They take shelter at his mom's, we're told she's the only mother he's ever known, she raised him, they're close etc. EXCEPT she gets murdered by the rival gang and HE LEAVES HER CORPSE ON THE DOORSTEP, TAKES HER TRUCK AND SHEDS NO TEARS. What the FUCK??? bro literally lost his mom and is all, oh well, she's gone. no grieving, no tears or retribution, just "we've got to go". and the worst thing? he LITERALLY does not seem to think about or care about it throughout the rest of the book?? he also sexes up the heroine that night??? like "hey mom mom died, oh well, gotta sex on this hot boring chick.
OH .MY. GOD.
Then in his safe house she gets kidnapped. Bro seriously?? how bad is this guy at his job??? no contingency plans, no way to get a hold of his guys, no safe territory, he answers the door to his house unarmed, he has no Intel on his bro and no real territory... ugh. trash
also, THE SMUT WAS NOT GREAT!? what a waste of time.
I don't think the synopsis is a very accurate representation of this book. So, the plot did not meet my expectations. The direction this book ended up taking wasn't my cuppa.
I voluntarily reviewed this free ARC book. Great MC book. Elle, a struggling singer, is heading home, leaving late she gets caught up in a blizzard in her nearly falling apart vehicle. Ciaran has many problems at the minute. Someone hit him over the head and left him in the middle of a blizzard to die. Luckily Elle stopped at the exact location where he was at. Unluckily, this hasn't changed the situation. He still has someone trying to kill him, he now has to hide the fact that he is the head of a MC and now Elle is in as much danger as he is. Can Ciaran stop the danger lurking in the sidelines, or will a competition end up with their deaths?
