After being languishing on my 'Currently Reading' for over a year, it's time to concede that I'll never make all 150 recipes from this book, as I boldly declared when first given it. In fact, I only cooked 24 dishes - although that's quite a lot compared to most of my cookbooks - and out of those, I'd only make 9 of them again. (Yes, I know this sounds very specific- I made notes in the book!) We all loved the Poached Eggs Florentine and the Leek and Goat's Cheese Crepes. The Falafel Burgers, however, were dry and bland and the Tofu Moussaka drowned in a not-very-nice yogurt sauce. Overall, there were two recurring problems in the book - too much fat ( the mushroom soup called for 40z butter - that's 1oz per person) and too many steps (soups again, that I usually make in three steps, were much more complicated but not more tasty). I had fun trying the recipes in this book and I'll go back to a few, but I think I can shelve it for now.
