WEREWOLVES OF THE WILD WEST

Grant Wade is a former Texas Ranger. He’s also a Lycan Alpha and, in the ghost town of Desperado, he’s found a perfect refuge for his desert pack and a place to shelter other werewolves in need of a safe place.

Determined to reclaim her full birthright, Paxton Hall goes home for the first time in decades. Her plan to strike a deal with Desperado’s new owner doesn’t work any better than her attempts to resist this sexy cowboy. I loved this little story about 2 Lycans drawn together by shall i say it...animal magnetism. Cheeky, I know. Linda wrote a great story about a hard working Cowboy who also happens to be the alpha of a desert werewolf Pack.

He has inherited an old ghost town from an old friend, whose daughter has inherited the surrounding land.

One wants to sell and one wants to keep it. They each have their own reasons.

Paxton remembers a much different ghost town then she sees upon her arrival, but deep memories keep trying to break through and draw her back in time.

Grant wants to keep the town a secret, until he finds Paxton has a secret, even she doesn't know. Paxton also has to embrace her heritage even if she is denying it at the same time. Together they help fight more night creatures than either of them knew existed.

They also solve a mystery that has plagued them since her arrival to the ghost town.

Don't miss this great little novel about an alpha and his strong willed mate.

A highly unusual storyline makes DESERT WOLF constantly fascinating. The unique werewolves created by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom are present, and their distinctive traits once again make them atypical from those usually read. But it is the numerous secrets and mysteries to be solved that really make the story exceptional. I was repeatedly intrigued with the many unanticipated incidents which occur, and when answers were finally given, I was often totally stunned. From start to finish, the story kept me captivated because of all the unknowns plus interesting characters.

After inheriting some land in Arizona from her father, Paxton Hall returns to the place where she lived as a child in the hope of quickly selling it and then returning to Maryland. However, there is one big problem keeping this objective from being simple. It seems there is an abandoned old western town which was once open to the public sitting in the middle of the property she now owns, and it belongs to Grant Wade. So Paxton has come to the hot desert in the hope of getting this stranger’s cooperation.

Her preconceived notions about Grant are far from correct, as it turns out he was once a Texas Ranger and is about her age. When Paxton tries to negotiate with him, he makes it clear there will be no deals made. What she does not know is the man opposing her is a werewolf, and the ghost town of Desperado is where the Lycan Alpha has concealed his pack. A multitude of secrets are being kept by Grant, and deciding what to actually tell Paxton is a huge gamble.

When a human and werewolf meet, there are often some problems to overcome. But the dilemmas Grant and Paxton must face are definitely much bigger than just worrying about different species. While he is aware of much more that is going on in Desperado than her, as she is in the dark at first, there are still some uncertainties for him to also discover. As truths become known, their choices about each new development could be disastrous if not chosen wisely. The confusion Grant and Paxton feel at times left me also speculating about the many possible explanations for what was taking place. Some subtle clues are scattered throughout the story, and I never knew if my deductions were right until every detail was exposed. The superb writing talent of Linda Thomas-Sundstrom certainly shines in DESERT WOLF, a very original paranormal novel.

What could have been an uncomplicated transaction is anything but that for Paxton, and the emotional issues in her life after arriving back home are heartbreaking. I cannot imagine having so many things to decide at once, and the author does not make her path to being happy easy. She has always been spirited, and every bit of her spunk is going to be needed to survive the nonstop predicaments. Grant is a wonderful hero, as he is protective plus compassionate and devoted. As the Alpha, he has countless responsibilities, and I liked how swiftly he moved Paxton up the list. These two go through so many emotional moments, and I enjoyed seeing how they would react to the situation and each other.

I voluntarily reviewed the book and all comments are my honest opinion - 4.5 Stars

What a great story! Yep. I loved the location (grew up in the desert of Tucson myself), The species, the strong Alpha of the pack, the strong human woman returning to her home, and the bad guy (s)?

Paxton has to face Grant. She has been willed her family's ranch which she plans to sell. However, smack in the middle is an old ghost town formally an amusement venue that Grant owns. He needs to sell it to her or buy out. Either one and soon so she can get back to her life in the city.

Has she got surprises in store. One: Grant is hotter than the desert. Two: there is something between them she can feel but not explain. Three: there is a big animal, maybe a bear, running around the desert, and four: there is more she just can't quite get.

Grant soon learns there is much more to Paxton than the person who wants to interfere with his duty as alpha in charge of this desert pack, hiding from humans in the town she wants. Not gonna happen. However, taking her to bed is going to happen. Soon.

The two can't resist the pull. Timing is so bad. With the recent problems and the new ones she presents, Grant has his hands more than full. Can he protect his pack and her? If he has to make a choice what will it be?

There is steam between these two even in this dry desert, emotions of the past and present, decisions of loyalty and love, unexpected enemies, and memories just now coming to light. They are all in for unpleasant surprises. Can love survive? Can their home survive?

This story will engage you. Keep you looking for answers. Surprise you when you get the answers.

Do Not Miss this great story. Well done Ms. Thomas-Sundstrom.

This was the first book from this author that I’ve ever read, and it was such an interesting story world! I always like a good werewolf story and this was entertaining.

The mystery of the heroine’s past was so intriguing that I kept flipping pages to find out more. Also, her reaction to finding out the truth about werewolves was probably one of the most realistic I’ve ever read. I didn’t always get her motivation for some of the things she did, but she was a good fit for the hero. Also, especially in the writing at the beginning, I didn’t quite feel her attraction to the hero, although I could sense his attraction to her.

The hero is incredibly sexy and protective of the heroine, and his compassion and gentleness with her makes him truly sympathetic.

The story plot had twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, which made it a book I was anxious to finish. I found myself racing to the end to find out what happens. It’s nice to find a book that has so many unexpected things, especially near the ending.

I won an advance copy of this book.. and finished it in two days because I love the west and I love werewolves and I particularly love this author's werewolves.

Here in Desert Wolf, we get to Arizona, where the attraction between Paxton and Grant is as hot as the weather, even though they resist it (or try to). Thing is, they just can't resist getting in each others' faces over a land dispute, so this places them in close proximity all the time. Did I mention there's a ghost town involved? So cool. And a lot of DANGER at every turn?

Grant, the alpha of a desert werewolf pack, has reasons to hold Paxton back from visiting this ghost town, where wolves roam and danger challenges. There are big surprise here. Twists and turns. Go for it.

Awesome series!! I love it!! Desert Wolf was an exciting read that had me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next!!

"It wasn't human," she whispered breathlessly. "And if this is your trespasser, we're screwed." Paxton Hall is one tough cookie. Absolutely the type of character that I love. Grant Wade is your sexy alpha cowboy with a whole lot of trouble on his hands. Together they have plenty of fireworks!!

I loved the story and its background happening in the desert. I enjoy the different take on werewolves and on vampires. There is no romanticizing vampires in this series. I cannot wait for the next book!!

Welcome to the wild west.... where the term "wolf" might be more than it seems and local ranchers have more to fear than a cattle rustler or two. And where an old tourist attraction - Desperado Ghost Town - is no longer empty, though its inhabitants aren't ghosts.

Enter Paxton Hall, who grew up here, but has been in the east for years . . . coming home to fight for inherited property split by rancher Grant Wade . . . just in time to come into another kind of inheritance that no one has expected, least of all the desert wolf pack's Were alpha, Wade.

This unusual western romance centres around an Arizona ghost town. When a young woman inherits land next door to the town, she arrives to inspect. The local marshal owns the ghost town now, and he doesn't want to let her in on the fact that he is a werewolf and some other weres use the town as a den.
The marshal is also hunting a rogue were who kills cattle and may have killed a human. Not the kind of situation where you can afford to be distracted by romance.

Enjoy. This is suitable for adults or mature teens.

Welcome to my world, little wolf. 5 WOLF MOONS

I am Lycan, alpha and a servant of the moon. Do you know? Do you understand what this is, between us? Desperado. What other secrets do you hold for me? HOOWWLL! WOW!! Talk about one howl of a story and then some!! And that cover?! DOUBLE WOW!!! I LOVE that it's a full-length novel, but of course the ONLY downside to that is I wouldn't be able to read it all in one sitting... HA!!! I DID!! I was so wholly, utterly and completely consumed I didn't stop reading until I reached The End!! In fact I was so captivated and entranced I didn't even make any notes for my review! Awww, shuckies! I “had” to read it again! wink "Their attraction was supernatural in scale. Preternatural. Inescapable." That's a perfectly great way to describe just how I felt reading this book! I couldn't have put it down if I tried!!! I love, Love, LOVE Linda's seductive storytelling, how her Weres are unlike ANY others I have EVER had the pleasure of knowing and just how quickly & deeply involved, attached to them I become! I was so intrigued with this story from the very beginning, but the way that some parts played out, WHEN they played out, truly surprised and delighted me! Grant. Cowboy. Alpha. Werewolf. How can you resist??? The attraction between Grant & Paxton was explosive from the start! And I will agree with Paxton - didn’t every woman have cowboy fantasies? There is so much STORY to this book! Of course there is romance and hotness, but there is also humor, danger, intensity, secrets, rogues, friends, attraction and MORE! SO. MUCH. MORE. I am one of those people who doesn’t usually fully read the book description before I start the book. I prefer to just get lost in the story itself and not worry about when this might happen or that, or have any preconceived notions about the characters or the storylines. I find that I “enjoy” (although that is a very wussy word to describe it!) the books that much more, that I fall for the characters, or suspect them of treachery, and can just simply live it all out with the characters! If the book and the author is phenomenal, then I also connect with the characters to a much deeper, emotional level, where I actually live & experience everything with and AS them! Linda and her books are DEFINITELY part of those select few!! Another perk to not knowing too much about the story before I read it is just how much I love the almost lost, disoriented feeling I have when I start her books because Linda doesn't follow the trends or “rules” when it comes to her Weres or her characters, so it is this delicious, delectable, completely irresistible morsel of a surprise EVERY time I read her books! I don’t mean that her books are hard to follow, in fact, it is EXACTLY the opposite! What I mean is that I don’t know what to expect when I open up one of Linda’s books, but that is a great, incredible, FANTASTIC thing because each book truly is a new adventure unlike the other(s) before it! Maybe a little bit of that is because I am relatively new to reading her books, even though I have a fair amount of them, but I like to think it's solely because Linda is a True Master, errrr.. Mistress of Storytelling! She knows how to create phenomenal story after another, while keeping them all fresh and true to the characters whose lives she is sharing with us. The best way to sum it all up is to say that not only did Linda break the author-mold, especially when it comes to paranormals, but she also ensures that mold stays broken with every character she creates and with every book she writes! From the moment I started reading Immortal Redeemed (the first book I read of hers), Linda become one of my favorite authors! I am swept away to these fantastical places where werewolves, vampires and others live, where I get to become those Heroes, become their Mate, almost always while protecting the humans from the horrors they don’t know, should never know, exist! What more can a girl ask for? Well, maybe for one of these Heroes to be real and are looking for me, their one true mate! wink I have to say that I couldn't help but giggle - a town called Desperado brings The Eagles song to mind...yet it's a town with WOLF shifters...not EAGLE shifters.... LOL

Desert wolf is such a good read, It starts off with a bang and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole read too . Meet Grant Wade a alpha of a pack that is hidden in the desert. He is also an ex Texas ranger and as hot as sin . Paxton just inherited the land the ghost town is on and wants to sell  . Will they survive each other and will they survive the rogue that is on the prowl.
I love the characters in this book . The author has written such complex, well developed characters . Paxton Hall is such a city girl when she first comes out to the desert to see her land . As you read you find out there is more to Paxton that she even knows and we see her grow and fall in love with everything desert even the tall ex Texas ranger Grant. Now ladies he is hot and I mean swoon worthy and he is commanding in his own way. The sparks fly between these two but there are some things that need to be taken care of first .
The story is a nice fast read for those late autumn days . We go on a journey with the characters in this book . The author has a way of writing that will keep you reading all through the night .   I adore shifters and this book was a great page turner . I read it in an afternoon , couldn't put it down  I had to find out the answers to the questions that kept popping up and when I did it was like wow who knew .  And who doesn't like some romance thrown in for good measure . So if you want a great read for the chilly fall night check it out

I have always loved ghost towns, whether restored or desserted. Pack Alpha Grant Wade is a true alpha in how he puts the needs of his pack before his own, but is thrown for a loop by his desire for Paxton Hall. These two are great characters. I enjoyed getting to know them through the story which is well writen and moves at a quick pace and flows smoothly scene to scene.

My rating of "Desert Wolf - Wolf Moon Series Book 10" is 4.75 out of 5 stars.

Desert Wolf was immediately fascinating and kept me thoroughly engrossed all the way through. I really liked the characters and enjoyed getting to know them as I tried to figure out the mysteries surrounding Paxton's Father's will, why she was different, and what was going on with the rogue. There were a few clues as to what the mystery was, but I was never quite sure, which I loved. The impetuous romance between Paxton and Grant was so compelling and while she tried to resist his charms, I was not so obstinate. He charmed me from the very beginning and was one of the best alpha male characters I've read about. He knew that alpha does not always mean domineering, it means doing what's best. Yet he still had that strong, protective thing going on that makes him so tempting. The end of the story got a bit hectic when all the mysteries were coming to light, but altogether I was very happy with the ending and the story overall. I highly recommend Desert Wolf to paranormal romance fans who enjoy a little mystery.

Another perfect paranormal tale from this author. I enter eagerly in with meeting Paxton and Grant opening the doors on this soon to be mystery. They have to get along to come to terms on property left to each by the pops of Paxton. Many issues on her part with many secrets on his. The slow burn connection begins right away once their eyes connect, so yum. The dance that follows is the one that tingles your fancy in the heart. As in stories of this type danger is afoot with a element unknown coming closer and braver. The other characters that comprise the pack balance it all nicely. As she learns more you are a goner into the story. You will also get a whalpa of a surprise when they get their answers, with several more that will slap you silly. By the time you are at the wrap up you are given satisfaction guaranteed.

I shouldn’t have expected a lot from a Mills & Boon book but the last couple of chapters were such a cop-out. It hastily “resolved” the questions raised within the plot and then shoved a stupid sex scene at the end with no further development of some sort of final battle with the vampires. I haven’t read the Twilight series but this feels like it was developed from a fan fiction of it.

There's no worst thing than a boring book, while triying to avoid boredom.
Read between cart rides in Dragon's Dogma 2, and the slowly, doing nothing pace of only seeing the scenary slowly changing in the videogame called me more than the book, in fact, this book made the journey even more slowly and boring, I cannot imagine if instead of a videogame would have been real life in a car journey, I shudder of thinking about it.
