She’s a thief whose victim was her own self. He’s a man who plays it safe.

After spending the past three years in prison for grand larceny, Natalie Diamond is finally free.
But living at the Second Chance Ranch won’t be easy. There’s no spa, no housekeeper, no help. Natalie isn’t paddocks—she’s Prada. She isn’t manure—she’s Marchesa. Yet, the minute she meets Roland Mallory, she knows she’ll be anything she has to be, even if it means being herself.

Roland Mallory hates being the nice guy. Nice guys finish last—always. When Natalie Diamond falls at his feet and looks up at him with those whiskey brown eyes, he knows she’s trouble. He isn’t looking for trouble. He’s looking for a partner. Natalie isn’t the love-him type, she’s the love-him-and-leave-him type, and Roland isn’t interested. That is, until he risks a taste of her lips one night—and everything changes.

They say opposites attract. But when it comes to love, can someone so wrong be so right?

My Rating:

4.5

Favorite Quotes:

Officer Ellis had me pegged. That’s probably why I liked him so much. He saw me for who I wasn’t. During my lifetime of twenty-five years, I had tried on more personas than an A-list actor, but in the past three, I had never fooled him.

You realize describing him as a nice guy is like telling an obese woman she has a pretty face.

‘You got me shoes?’ That was as good as foreplay in my book.

She’s a viper wrapped in cotton candy. Not even the good pink kind, but the blue kind that stains your fingers and teeth.

My Review:

Another newly released ex-con has nowhere else to go so she joins her old prison friends at Second Chance ranch where her arrival provides an interesting and entertaining story. Before her incarceration, Natalie was a spoiled trust-fund child who grew up to be a materialistic, snobby, shallow, selfish, lazy, and pampered diva. She was also a chameleon who was entertaining and wickedly funny, yet generally lacking in authenticity. She was not much better after prison although she did gain enough insight to become aware of her less than desirable personality traits and slowly began to see them in herself and others. Written in my favorite dual POV, the storyline was easy to follow, engaging, insightful, amusing, emotive, steamy, and enjoyable. I am already looking forward to the next convict being sprung.

After getting caught stealing a Cartier watch from her cousin (that she thought should have been hers because her grandmother left it to her) Natalie spent three years in prison. When she was released and her mother didn't come to pick her up, she was thankful that Mickey did and took Natalie to her ranch - the M & M Ranch aka the Second Chance Ranch. At the ranch, Mickey takes in women from prison, giving them a cabin to live in and friends. They work on the ranch which Natalie had no idea how to do but she did learn. Living and working on the ranch was the complete opposite of her pampered, debutant life before prison. She expected to get her inheritance when she got out of prison but her mother told her that she had to wait for 30 days and prove she could make a difference in the world before getting the money. While Natalie didn't like it she thought "how hard can it be?". She got a dog to prove to her mother she could make a difference, finding out just how hard it could be.

She met Roland, the ranch vet and tried to get him in bed. It was never a problem to get a man before and after three years in prison, she wanted one - badly. But Roland didn't do one-night-stands. He wanted a permanent partner. They finally worked out this problem. Then you've got to grab the fan and some ice water either to drink or pour over your head because the heated passion and explosive chemistry are coming at you full force.

I liked Roland's nice guy persona even though he wasn't always nice when he was trying to protect his heart. Because the was handsome, big and intelligent all the women wanted him. But Natalie was the only woman he wanted. It was hard to like Natalie at the beginning when she was the spoiled, rich girl but she changed drastically at the ranch, becoming a thoughtful friend to many others and a hard worker.

This is an inspiring story of second chances. It shows how we can learn who we are and who we could be with a bit of effort.

Loved this story – might like it the best of all of four books in the series so far!

Natalie Diamond has been a pampered princess who managed to put herself in prison. When she is released from prison she finds that much is expected of her and the sense of entitlement she has lived with for over twenty years needs to be replaced with something else. She moves onto the M & M Ranch with her friends from prison, meets their significant others and also meets a man that impacts her life in more ways than one. Roland Mallory is more than a handsome veterinarian and nice guy…a whole lot more! Natalie’s story is heartwarming and made me believe that second chances are available for everyone.

Thank you to the author for the ARC of this book. This is my honest review.

>Book Review – Set Up

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 4th in the Second Chance series and ends in an HEA. Natalie is the 4th friend to finish her prison sentence and find herself at the Second Chance ranch. I had a hard time liking Natalie. She was spoiled. The other girls mentioned how Natalie showed a caring, giving side in prison, but all she seemed to show to the reader was her self-centered attitude. Roland is the vet who falls for Natalie. He has always been a nice guy in the previous books, but he has an alpha side that is fun to watch in this book.

>Natalie’s self-esteem issues arise as her and Roland attempt a relationship. Roland knows she has to work through her issues on her own, but it is heartbreaking to see him pull back to give her space to do so. Could there be a better guy than Roland?! Of course, Natalie’s dog, Pepper, is a scene stealer. All of the animals in this series play an important role. All the previous characters have small roles in this book, with Mickey showing a side to her that hadn’t been seen before – tough love. She is tough on Natalie, but says a lot of what I wanted to say to Natalie.

>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the story 5 stars. I wasn’t a fan of Natatlie, but the story was well written and flowed well.

Natalie has just been released from prison and is horrified her mother is not there to pick her up. Luckily her friend Mickey comes to get her and takes her to the ranch where all the girls from their cell block ended up. It isn't long until Natalie meets Roland, a veterinarian, who takes her breath away. Pretty soon Natalie goes to see her mother to try and collect her inheritance, but her mother refuses to release it. She is trying to teach Natalie a lesson for taking something that didn't belong to her. Her mother feels she is very spoiled and wants her to learn there is more to life than possessions. With little choice she returns to Mickey's ranch and examines how she can prove herself worthy to her mother. Meanwhile Roland who is taken with Natalie come off a kind of a jerk because everyone is always telling him that the nice guy never gets the girl. Or is it the nice guy who can show Natalie where she went wrong? Can Roland and Pepper, the rescue dog she adopted, show Natalie what is important in life? A very well written, interesting story. I just love this whole series. I read an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion.

What a great second chance story. Natalie learns a hard lesson after spending 3 years in prison she goes to live on a ranch that is a second chance for female ex-cons. Natalie has a chip on her shoulder and expects to only be at the ranch for a short time - until she gets her life back to normal - gets her inheritance and begins living her pre-prison high society life. But life has a way of throwing a curve ball and for Natalie it is in the form of sexy good boy Roland the local vet. He is a good heart but has a good boy reputation - not what the local females are looking for. Natalie is just looking for a sexual partner but nothing for the long term but when the two are together the sparks are there and each doesn't know how to handle the situation not knowing how the other will react. This a great story about finding the worth of oneself not based on money but merit. I loved the story from beginning to end and look forward to more by this author.

I love this book, as well as the whole series. I really like second chance books because everyone needs at least a second chance. This series is the stories of five women that met in prison. Mickey got out first and was able to build her run down ranch back up into a working ranch. That was her first priority. Her second priority was her four friends from prison. This is the story of the fourth one to get out, Natalie. She used to be rich and spoiled. In this book, she has to find a new her. Roland, I knew from the previous books in the series. He is a really nice guy, but that is not all, he is sexy and ripped. Kelly Collins does such a great job with this book. As I read, I felt like I was one with the characters. I felt their emotions. I have to say, I did shed some tears in part of the book, but I also celebrated with them when they were happy. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced copy, and I highly recommend this book.

I received a free ARC of this book and am voluntarily writing n honest review.

Upon her release from prison, Natalie joins her friends at Second Chance Ranch. Natalie is the stereotypical rich girl- spoiled, concerned about getting her inheritance, and the cute little flat she wants to buy. On the ranch, she meets Roland. He is described to her as a "nice guy" which to her is the kiss of death. However, Natalie begins to be humbled during her time on the ranch and with Roland's help she soon discovers that there are more important things in life than money. Kelly Collins sucked me into this book from the first page. She made me feel sorry for Natalie even though I wanted to dislike her because of her attitude. I even found my heart breaking for her and then cheering her on. Although this is a romance, it is also a story of self-discovery, rebuilding one's self-esteem, and getting a second chance at life.

what happens when you spend 3 years in prison for stealing something you thought was entitled to you . and what if you get out and think your mom will be waiting for you . but what if she isn't . do you hope for one of your old friends from the life you were brought up in or an inmate . that has been out . and what if your use to a rich life but must not be dependent on riches . what if you have been told to figure your life out and to be selfless when you grew up spoiled . but can she find it in herself to be more . and learn to stand on her own two feet . but if she sacrafices the one thing she went to jail for . can it come full circle to save her friends from prison and on a ranch that becomes her home . can a dog make a difference in her heart and in her life . find this and so much more this book to me well everyone in this series bring a lesson to the table for all to learn the value of who you are and so much more .

If you have not read any of the books in this series
from Kelly you should. They are all about what each
girl goes through when she gets our of jail.
This is the 4th book in this series.
Natalie was waiting out side the jail for her mother to
come and get her but she did a no show. Just as she was about
to try to make a phone call Mickey showed up to drive Natalie to
the second chance ranch.
Natalie met Roland there and at first he was not that nice to her.
the reason he behaved like that is because he is not the type
to have a one night stand and that is what he thought Natalie
wanted. The things both of them went through before they got
there happy ending. This book will grab you from the start until
the last page. Once you read this one go and get book one to
find out how the hole series's started that one is about Mickey.

Money can't buy everything, especially Love and happiness. Natalie is released from prison to find that her mother doesn't bother to pick her up and she won't be getting her inheritance anytime soon. What is a spoiled rich girl supposed to do?? Lean on her friends. Mickey has the ranch and is waiting to get Natalie from the prison. She takes her to the ranch, gives her a cabin to live in and surrounds her with friends. Through all of her trials she finds love and happiness! Who would think that adopting a dog and the love of a vet could change everything for her.

I love this series and the second chance at a happy life that these woman have. It also shows what the love of family and a good man can do.

Roland is a veterinarian and has been dubbed the "nice guy" by all the girls on the ranch. Natalie was high society before she went to jail for theft. Her first day out of jail she falls face first out of the truck and lands at Roland's feet. They both feel the sudden attraction but both feel they're wrong for each other. Natalie has a lot of growing up to do and needs to learn to deal with the new life she is given. Roland tries to stay away from Natalie because he's looking for forever, not just a week or two. Chemistry collides and fate takes over. This is a really great book added to this series, it will take you through all the emotion of being upset to wanting to cry and being happy. I voluntarily agreed to review an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.

Another great story of Kelly Collins. I could'nt put this book down until I finished reading.
Natalie is an intriguing character. While we feel compassion for her and for all shw went through, at times we feel anger for the choices she makes, but when the sexy veterinarian Rolland appears to help her as soon as she arrives at the ranch, things heat up between them. It's a mutual case of love and hate at first sight, as they feel a huge attraction for each other, but avoid getting together, at least at first.
I loved the whole story.
I highly recommend this book!

Wow, she did it again!!! Such a great heartfelt story. Roland is really such a great character, he tries so hard to fight his attraction to Natalie. Natalie feels she is unlovable so she isn't really looking for love but oh how the mighty have fallen from high maintenance to jail bird. The main characters do compliment each other well, their supporting characters are tough as nails, lol. Natalie grows up fast & learns to cope with her abandonment issues, I felt sorry for her. The story made me laugh, the scene with Pepper & Princess was especially hilarious, there are also a little teary eyed scenes which truly makes this seem so realistic. Excellent, well-written story!!

That was one heck of an emotional roller-coaster. I adore Roland. I have adored him from the moment he first stepped foot onto the grounds of the M and M Ranch. Natalie was quite a different matter. It took most of the book for me to warm up to her. In fact, for the better part of the first half I really didn't like her at all and I couldn't see what it was that made the two of them a good partnership. But then she started grow into a woman she was proud to become, someone worthy of the friendships she had, and it all started to make sense. I loved watching Roland open himself up to and learn to trust that woman.

Set Up: Second Chance Series book 4

Natalie released from prison, starting over, at a ranch for 2nd chances started by her friend Mickey. Now learning not everything is about her, learning to trust others, do for others, be dependable, responsible, learn to love herself and others. Then she meets Roland, the ranch/ town vet, nice guy, yet they buck heads. The chemistry between them is unreal, sparks are so hot, now to see where this takes them? Great story! Beautiful!!❤️

It is all about what you Choo's

This is the fourth book in the series. This story is about Natalie, and how she landed in prison. She has a much different story than the other girls. This is a book that goes to show it does not matter if you're born with a silver spoon in your mouth. That does not make you above the law. You have to go through the punishment you deserve same as anyone else. It might actually be harder to get back because you are held at a higher standard.

Natalie Diamond is finally free from spending 3 years in prison for grand larceny & now living at Second Chance Ranch. Roland Mallow is "The Nice Guy" vet. An entertaining novel that is well developed with no plot holes. With realistic characters with real emotions and flaws. An engaging story with romance & humor. Natalie needs her second chance

Natalie was a rich pampered brat that ended up in prison for stealing a watch the felt was hers. This book is about her life after prison on Mickey's ranch, a friend made in prison. Roland is a down to earth guy, a vet, and a nice guy all around. Read this book to see the sparks between the all.

Roland

He finally gets the girl. Natalie gets out and before she went in, she was spoiled. Her mom tells her she has a month to prove herself. Between a dog, a job, volunteering, and Roland she finally figures out who Natalie really is. Second Chance Ranch does that to you.

Enjoyed the story. Glad Roland finally got his story. Natalie had to learn who she was and get her priorities straight. Some things aren't easy until you have a reason to change. Roland never thought he be so attracted to a women who put money before anything else.

Good book

I really liked this one, I guess you could say it's riches to rags with a happy ending. She has to find her self and learn to lover herself before she can love Roland.

If you can't love yourself, no one else can either

Natalie, beautiful, born rich and suddenly penniless and clueless about who she is and what she wants to be. Roland, a veterinarian that's part of the M&M ranch family and known as the nice guy. Although this can be read as a stand alone, it's best to start with the first in the series, Set Free. Overall quality of writing and proofreading are very good. Ms. Collins has done an amazing job with each story development as well as character development. Steamy intimacy scenes, lots of love, no cheating or cliffhanger and each had a promise of a happy beginning. As you progress through the series each couple develops more towards their happy ever after. Enjoy
