I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Southern belle Julie is a newly created succubus. Having traded her eternal soul for a life of passion and glamour, Julie is still learning to navigate the complex dynamics of her new reality. In this second installment, Julie is given a covert assignment to uncover details of a brewing coup among the ranks of incubi and succubi. As a succubus turned spy, Julie is continually forced to compromise her relationships and very existence to deliver intel to Abby, hell’s second in command. Amidst her attempts to please her boss, Julie is also desperately trying to forge a unique identity for herself. As the sister of a heavenly heavy hitter, and the lover of a hellish heavyweight, Julie struggles for autonomy and self-preservation.
I am loving this series. I like Julie as the main character, an anti-hero of sorts. Julie isn’t perfect, not even close, and I like that. I get to lose myself in a character who makes the bad choices and the fallout is oh so entertaining. Julie’s southern charm and manners contrast humorously with her wild sexual abandon. She becomes something of a walking contradiction, but instead of inciting frustration, her follies create intrigue. Because Julie is such a wild card, I really have no clue where all this is leading and I find that refreshing.
This book is full of sex. Like, full. And it’s descriptive. And, at times, unconventional. Surprisingly, though, it works and, for the most part, an integral part of the story. So, if liberal sex isn’t your thing, steer clear.
Book one ends in a cliff-hanger, a technique I don’t care for. With this installment, while there are some major question marks, the transition to book three, Ruin, has been more interestingly set. I can’t wait.

Well, this was one crazy book. It’s the second one in a series, and when it starts, the main character, Julie, is already dead. But that’s quickly remedied, and before she knows it, she’s in a very tough situation, way over her head. I found this novel very easy to read, and the story moved incredibly fast. It’s more than a little steamy. I really felt for Julie, as she’s almost literally between a rock and a hard place. I’m intrigued by Cam and Joanne, both of whom care for Julie but have very different goals for her. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Addictiveness: This just keep getting better!
Character:  heroine 4.5/5, secondary characters 4/5, growth 4.5/5, real 4/5  Julie is a great character. Totally different from the usual. Now she is a succubus and has an assignment. Her growth as a character is amazing and the way she fights for her self-journey made her the best character. As I mentioned in the previous book, this is about her flaws.
Cover: art 4/5, title 5/5, subtitle 5/5, color/font 4/5, buy 4/5  I would buy this book without reading the blurb. The art work is great and the title/subtitle adds to the appeal.
Freshness: One-of-a-kind!
Plot: believable 4/5, conflict 4/5, dialogue 4/5, ending 3/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 4/5, pace 4.5/5, setting 4/5, subplots 4/5, twists 3/5  Great conflict and good dialogue. Ok beginning and ending. There is a cliffhanger, and I guess I have to point that out. The author is so creative and she weaves a tale that grabs the reader's attention and permeate his mind. Great plot, with a lot of room for the other books.
Romance: believable 2/5, chemistry 4.5/5, description 4/5, development 2/5, steam4.5/5 This is not a romance. This is hot and steamy!
Writing Style: Her writing just keeps getting better. I love it.

The end. Still with cliffhanger.

Overall

Action 3/5
Angst 3/5
Darkness 0/5
Humor 2/5
Romance 3.5/5
