The Warrior We Call Mom: An Awakening for the Women Who Shape and Launch the Next Generation

Rate this book
See the connection between spiritual warfare and your role as a mother in order for your kids to experience an awakening of their own. There is a spiritual war raging against the next generation. This book is a passionate call for moms to break out of the box of “normal” and dare to be led by the Spirit in their day-to-day parenting. Deven Wallace looks at biblical examples, including the mothers of Jesus, John the Baptist, Samuel, Moses, and Samson to empower mothers today. The heart of a mother is to see her child serve God with passion, and this book will be the catalyst to that revival.

It took my longer than expected to finish this book, as I did enjoy it and it’s message I found myself getting lost in all the ways that I wasn’t leading my family which caused the devil to take advantage of me and my pride. My eyes are now open to what my true duty is of a mother and I am ready to take a stand against the enemy. Would recommend to a mother who is in need of a good direction for herself and her family.

Wow! This book was powerful. What a gift from the Heavenly Father to have found it. My husband and I were searching for spiritual food at a Feast of Tabernacles event we were attending when he came across this book. I had decided to go with another book at the time but Yah, with his perfect timing and gentle prodding, compelled me to go back for this one as well. Lo and behold, after praying for guidance with my very lively four-year-old, this was definitely an answer to my continued prayers. This book is exactly what I needed to hear. One thing I was surprised about was that Wallace didn't mention the virgins who let their lanterns go out and the virgins who had enough oil to keep their lanterns lit and so were prepared when the messiah came. Nevertheless that was just a personal thought and a story that I felt was very relevant.
So insightful. I will be recommending this to every kingdom-minded mother I know! I keep trying to relay ideas to my husband but there is so much, he will have to go through and read all of the highlighted areas!

This book has a strong message, and I think it is a good call to action for mothers.

Perhaps my favorite part was when she gave practical ways grandmothers in the church and community could help young mothers, but I gave the book a 3 star rating because that was the only place I saw practical advice. The rest seems to be more of a testimony given by a female preacher.

The author is clearly strong in her beliefs and carries a burden for mothers. I just wish there were more moments where she tells moms how to accomplish the challenge rather than so much of why they need to. If mothers are reading the book, they know the why.

Still, reading the book was time well spent.

This book is a wake up call for all the mothers that are raising children in this wicked world. The book offers great tips on how to use Gods Word in the process of raising children for heaven. The author offers courage and hope through God to live the life we were created for and not let fear overwhelm us! I wish that this book could be translated in as many languages as possible so that godly mothers would raise children that would impact the next generation.
