I really liked these companions to the Revolution storyline. There are 5 stories set around the main storyline.

Rom. This Rom's first encounter with the Wraith experiment on earth, and a bit of Intel. A good story.

M.A.S.K. The origin of M.A.S.K, their training and how they they were set up. One of the better issues if that series.

The Micronauts. On their journey into the unknown, great space adventure, and hints at revelations.

G.I. JOE. The JOE's realise an unknown enemy has infiltrated Earth. In on mission where they can trust no one.

Action man. The British get involved in the Rovolution. A rescue and a couple of splits in other teams.

All round good stories. Well linked into the main storyline, though this volume can be enjoyed on it's own.

This IDW Revolution event has been really good. The way all the titles came together into an actual cohesive story was impressive. I hadn’t read several of them so I’m glad for the introduction.

The Heroes collection specifically included some great one shot stories and only a few stinkers. You really do need to read these to understand the main Revolution story line, so don’t skimp and try to do that, it’s just confusing.

This one collects all of the various one shot comics that tie into the big Revolution crossover event from IDW. This is supposed to combine all of the various "Hasbro" comic universes into one cohesive universe.

In this case, the crossover tie ins were more entertaining than the main series. The main series was very confusing, and in most cases these tie ins were at least a little easier to follow. I'm still not sure how I feel about Transformers, GI Joe, Rom, Micronauts, MASK and Action Man all sharing one universe, but these stories at least showed it can work when it's not overdone.

Five non-Transformers tie-ins to the Revolution event:
- Rom: Fills in the backstory of a character who made a minor appearance in the event. Probably the best in the collection.
- MASK: The origin of MASK in this shared universe. This is fine for the most part, though I'm fuzzy on why Trakker and the others would stay with the team after that last test...
- Micronauts: Had a bit of a MCU Guardians of the Galaxy feel, but less compelling. Probably works better if you read the Micronauts ongoing first, but definitely the weakest of the five.
- G.I. Joe: Picks up from an unfortunate revelation about Joe leadership in Revolution, but otherwise kind of by-the-numbers (until the very end, anyway).
- Action Man: The only tie-in that fills in a gap in Revolution's plot, explaining how Kup was able to escape. It's fine, mostly about the title character having to deal with the craziness of the other franchises.

Although none are really bad, readers of Revolution looking for more depth to the storyline will likely find these pretty skippable. (B)

I liked this, but it seemed to be mostly just setup for the main story.
