His current series with Skybound/Image Comics is EXTREMITY, a sci-fi/fantasy title he is writing and drawing, and continues to update his webcomic Space-Mullet in his spare time.

Продовження коміксу «Extremity» розкриває нові таємниці цього вигаданого світу. Головні герої знаходять нового друга ( і тут я одразу згадав дві речі: мангу “Appleseed” та фільм «Робот Чаппі» ), піддаються нападу диких тварин (мабуть сценаристи Мандалорця також читали цей комікс), втрачають корабель...
Також ми бачимо королеву злодіїв і дізнаємося про її наміри та мотиви...
З малюнком і коліром тут знову ж таки все гарно, сюжет закручується, стає більш цікавим.
Окремо хочеться виділити роботу художника зі звуком. BOOM! WHAM! ROARRR! - все це написано вручну і дуже органічно поєднано з малюнком, на відміну від багатьох інших коміксів, де ці букви доволі часто ліплять поверх малюнку аби-як. Саме звукові ефекти й привернули мою увагу до коміксу «Extremity», і вже потім я розгледів чудовий малюнок Даніеля Варрена Джонсона.

I appreciate how the world keeps building. The first issue had depth and character and gave us enough to see a rival family trope (being done well!) and now there's slightly more to feed that trope (the motivation/humanity of the enemy camp) as well as something wholly unexpected. The robot. I liked this. I may not be as sucked in as I was with the previous issue but I do like how instead of depth in characters, the new elements give added dimension to this world. I'm excited for the potential of this story.

I enjoyed this issue immensely. I liked seeing more of the history of the world and the Roto clan, and Shiloh is an instant new favorite for me. I was just thinking how hard it is to capture story and character well when you only have a few pages to do it, and Daniel Warren Johnson just did it again. I still think the story idea for it is brilliant, and I'm impressed by the nuance and tensions already being built into the character's relationships. I find all three of the main Roto clan members intriguing in their own way and it was nice to see more depth with Hobbie too. All in all a great read and what looks to be a great series. I'm excited to see where it goes!
