I am starting to like Thunder Point. It seems a swell place to live. I like the idea of small town living. So much sweetness.

I like the characters too. Peyton, even sometimes she is too dramatic, she has back bone. Scott is sweet and patient. His jealousy at the end stole my heart. The story as usuall is full of moral messages. Especially self worth and self respect.

I can relate to what Peyton feeling toward her ex. Sometimes I do feel under appreciated. Miss Carr done a good job with The Promise.

Quick Summary
Dr. Scott Grant is a widower with two small children who recently moved to Thunder Point to raise his family. He also wanted the experience and lifestyle of a small town general practitioner, offering personal rewards if not much money. Peyton Lacoumette, a Physician Assistant, was just passing through, on her way from a bitter breakup to...something else, when serendipity stepped in. She needed a job and Scott really needed help...in more ways than one.

Scott and Peyton
Scott's just the nicest man and a dedicated father to his 5-year old son Will and 4-year old daughter Jenny. In the short time he's been in town, Thunder Point has come to treasure him and want him happy. Peyton is a PA with an impressive résumé, in demand for a lot more money than Scott can pay. But she's intrigued by the other rewards the practice offers and wants to experience small town medical practice for a few months before she decides her next direction.

The romance
A misunderstanding at their initial meeting gave them both reason to believe they were off limits to each other so Scott and Peyton had a chance to get to know each other without pressure for awhile. I liked how their romance meandered a bit, slowly developing throughout the story. Scott's more than ready, just waiting for Peyton to catch up.

The heart of the story
I've waited impatiently for this story and liked that Scott's HEA was with someone like Peyton, someone who shared his passion for healing people and family (she comes from a BIG one). Her back story took a while to unfold and it was pretty extraordinary and interesting. I loved her big, crazy family as it gave me insight into the woman who'd suffered heartbreak recently and was more than this skittish person leery of love.

The bottom line
I really liked this return to Thunder Point and the long overdue romance for Dr. Scott. His efforts to permanently lure the PA gave me incredible insight into the demands of a small town medical practice, making me respect him even more (didn't think that was possible). While there are secondary storylines, Scott and Peyton's dominate and that's a really good thing. I liked her and who she was to Scott, both personally and professionally. Well done.

Robyn Carr's one of my all-time favorite authors and her "Virgin River" series I could read over and over again.
Small-town romance is this author's specialty and in the "Thunder Point" series she takes us to the coast of Oregon.
Scott Grant is the town doctor and also a widowed single father (of 2 small children) who works hard and is trying to get over the sudden loss of his wife 4 years earlier.
Broken-hearted Peyton Lacoumette breezes into town looking for a place to repair her shattered pride. She is a nurse practitioner and agrees to give Scott a 3 month trial assisting him at his clinic.
"The Promise" is an uplifting story about overcoming loss and finding unexpected love.
I love revisiting all of the characters that have come to mean so much to me and I look forward to, "The Homecoming", the next book in the "Thunder Point" series.

Ok this might be a by-product of beige reading a series…I thought our Heroine was protesting toooooooooo much.

I liked the storyline just fine don’t get me wrong, I am a fan of Doc Scott. And I enjoyed getting to know his story.

But I think Peyton just keep protesting to much you know that famous saying. “methinks the lady doth protest too much” Well this is what I was thinking the whole time with her.

I did like that Peyton stepped up when she was asked.

I lovvvvvvvved the narration! As you can probably guess from all my gushing about Therese Plummer she is just fantastic, what can I say I know what I like.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I am happy that Scott finally got his HEA but I kept alternating between liking Peyton and wanting to smack her on the back of her head. She claimed to be a good judge of character and great a reading people---WRONG on both counts. However, I gave her a pass because she geniunely meant well, had a good heart and was a hard worker. She wasn't looking for pity, she just wanted to be needed and wanted.

This series continues to be enjoyable for me and I think it's because of the narrator Therese Plummer who has great character voices! I am still holding out hope that Rawley will get love too!

The Promise was a little better than The Chance, the previous book of the Thunder Point series, for me, but I still didn't feel like it was quite up to the caliber that I know Robyn Carr is capable of. The plot and characterizations were also a little too similar to The Chance. A heroine who is soul-searching after a major upheaval in her life...check. She's just passing through town and decides it might be a nice place to sojourn until she gets things worked out in her head...check. A hard-working hero with a heart of gold who almost instantly falls in love with her...check. A heroine who is reluctant to commit, because she'd be giving up a lucrative and fulfilling career...check. A heroine who leaves town for a while when unexpected things occur, leaving the hero to wonder if she really loves him and is coming back...check. It was like Ms. Carr was telling the same tired story all over again, only with different characters and slightly different situations. The only thing that really saved The Promise for me and made it a little better than The Chance is that I generally found the heroine to be a bit more relatable.

Peyton is a physician's assistant who fell for the doctor she worked with. He was a brilliant surgeon and a charismatic man who was easy to like in the workplace, but when she agreed to move in with him, all hell broke loose. His kids were completely out of control, and he left her to take care of them and clean up the mess while he was hardly ever at home. Needless to say, things went south between them pretty fast, and now that she's left him, Peyton is doing some soul-searching while looking for her next job. She wanders into Thunder Point to discover that the one and only doctor in town is looking for a PA. He can't offer her much salary wise, but realizing it's a place where she can find some peace and quiet to recover from her chaotic relationship debacle, she agrees to a three month commitment. After that, all bets are off. Peyton is from a traditional Basque family and was raised on the family farm with her seven siblings. They didn't have a lot, but they were brought up well and the family is very close, so ill-behaved kids like her ex's are a foreign concept to her. I really enjoy learning about new cultures, but sometimes the way Ms. Carr presented Peyton's Basque background seemed like a bit of an info dump. It was like she was trying to cram everything she learned about the Basque culture from her research into the story, without really taking the time and care to truly craft it into her characterizations. Sometimes, like when Peyton visits the family farm, we get to see that culture in action; other times, it was more like she was rattling off a bunch of facts. Peyton is a talented PA who cares very much about her patients and people in general. Despite her bad experience with a man who already had kids, she warms up fairly quickly to Scott's youngsters, although she still has a few misgivings about becoming more deeply involved with him. Overall, I think that Peyton was a likable and admirable heroine, but it seemed like her POV dominated the story a little too much. It got to the point that I was starting to notice Ms. Carr repeating things we already knew about Peyton or belaboring certain issues in her life.

Because the story was so heavily weighted toward Peyton and her problems, I felt like Scott really didn't get much of a foothold in the story. Many of Ms. Carr's heroes have been among some of my favorites, and I think Scott could have been too, if his characterization had gone a little deeper. We already knew from previous books of the series that Scott was a grieving widower with two young children, although by the time this story opens, he seems to be mostly past the pain of losing his wife and finally ready to have a serious relationship again. He's a very caring doctor who works hard to keep his practice afloat, while still finding time to be a devoted father. Overall, he's a great guy, but I didn't feel like we got to know him very well, at least not beyond the obvious surface stuff. He has a few insecurities that rise up when Peyton's ex comes to town in his fancy car, but I didn't feel like Scott's feelings were given the weight they deserved. Instead, they're essentially brushed off as him being silly and acting like an idiot (ie he's the one in the wrong), rather than using them as an opportunity to further define him.

Much like with The Chance, I felt like the romance between Scott and Peyton was on the weak side. There wasn't much build-up in their relationship (ie not much in the way of truly romantic interludes) before they start dating a few times and fall into bed together. At this point, I felt like their emotions and attraction for one another was being told to me more than shown. While I suppose there's something to be said for two people communicating openly and honestly, having Scott and Peyton talk so frankly about having sex right before they do took some of the mystery and romanticism out of it for me. This was another area in which The Promise was identical to The Chance. It just felt like they were treating their sexual relationship in a matter of fact way, not really caring what the future held but instead living in the moment, which doesn't usually work well for me. I need a couple to either have casual sex that then builds into something much deeper or have a true relationship that includes sex as well as certain expectations for the future, rather than this odd amalgamation of the two that Ms. Carr seems to be leaning toward in many of her more recent books. I'm also not much of a fan of the commitment-phobe heroine. Scott declares his love for Peyton very early in their relationship, but she waits until the end, still thinking that she might leave town when her three months are up. She wasn't quite as bad as Laine in the previous book, but I still think Scott deserved more. I'll admit that there were a few moments when I felt the connection between Scott and Peyton, but I know that the author is capable of writing much better romanticism than she did in this book.

Throughout these two most recent books in the Thunder Point series, Robyn Carr seems to be getting away from the multiple POVs that have become her trademark. I'm not sure what or who is responsible for this change, whether Ms. Carr decided to pare them down herself or if it was an editorial decision or something else. I know some readers didn't care for the secondary storylines drawing the focus away from the “main” hero and heroine, but I've actually gotten used to them and kind of miss them. There were still a few of these scenes present, but most of them were over in the blink of an eye and didn't add a great deal to the character whose perspective was being presented. Spencer and Devon (The Hero) finally tie the knot, but I would have liked if the wedding had been written out in a little more detail. Cooper and Sarah (The Wanderer) experience a blessed event, again with few details. Carrie is injured, leading to a newly developing friendship with Rawley, which looks like it may become romantic down the line. And Mac is up for a promotion that will take him away from Thunder Point to a neighboring community for work. No worries though, because he's going to commute, leaving him, Gina, and the kids likely to remain background characters. There were no new characters introduced in this book, although Mac and Gina do discuss his replacement as the new sheriff's deputy, a guy named Seth. He's apparently a former resident of Thunder Point who's finally coming home as the hero of the next book, The Homecoming, due for release in August (2014).

Unfortunately, The Promise seemed to end a tad too abruptly. I would have liked for Peyton to have at least said “yes” to Scott's proposal. Instead, we're left hanging with the assumption that she accepted because of the things she said prior. Still, having that final pat answer would have been nice. Besides that and the other weaknesses I've mentioned, it was a decent story that I mostly enjoyed. I just wish that Robyn Carr would build up her heroes a little more so that we, as the readers, can truly fall in love with them like I almost always did with the Virgin River heroes. These last few heroes in the Thunder Point series have been great guys, but IMHO, they've been rather weak compared to the scrumptious heroes of Virgin River. I'm not sure if it's because Robyn Carr released a women's fiction novel earlier this year and has been so immersed in the female POV that she had difficulty getting away from it to write these last couple of Thunder Point books with a more balanced male/female perspective or what. In any case, it looks like Seth may have an intriguing story to tell, and since we don't know much anything about him yet, I'll keep my fingers crossed that he gets more page time in his upcoming book than the last couple of heroes have had.

Another very abrupt ending. This series isn’t quite as good as Carr’s Virgin River—though still worth reading if you like this kind of romance. Books 1 - 3 of Thunder Point are better than books 4 and 5.

The Promise is a tender, slow building romance that just gives you that feel good feeling.

Recently leaving an mentally abusive relationship Peyton Lacoumette, starts working for Dr. Scott Grant in a small practice in Thunder Point. Immediately drawn toward each other, Peyton's relationship scars have deep roots taking a lot of work on Scott's part to rip them loose.

I love coming home to Carr's writing. It is warm, with family, home and neighborhood at its core. The town of Thunder Point could be your local suburb with characters that you'd keep as close friends.

The Promise deals with difficult real life situations. I fell in love with Peyton's serenity and true willingness to help even the family that abused her for years. Don't miss The Promise a wonderful book vacation to Thunder Point.

Robyn Carr never misses with me, and I completely loved this addition to her Thunder Point Series. I was already attached to Scott Grant after his appearances in the previous books, and was thrilled to read his story. He is a great hero, and Payton Lacoumette made a great counterpart for him. These two were great characters, and their romance was tender and endearing. Thunder Point was once again a great setting for the story, and I loved the appearances by other familiar characters.

Peyton Lacoumette has been badly burned in the romance department by a man who expected her to mother his child from a previous marriage. When she takes a temporary job in Thunder Point, she is a bit worried to find that the doctor, Scott Grant, has two young motherless children. As she begins to know and care for Scott, she has to protect herself and make sure she is never again in the position where she was in her previous relationship. Scott Grant has been widowed for a time, and knows that he can't let Peyton get away. He has to show her that he is not the sort of man as her ex, and that he takes all of his responsibilities seriously.

This was a very sweet romance with wonderful characters. No one writes small town America like Robyn Carr. Her settings and characters come alive and make you want to live in her stories.

Nothing special, but reads up quite quickly. However, it's impossible to understand all those strange relations in the town without some kind of a "town tree" :D

Peyton Lacoumette is an out of work PA. She came to thunder Point to relax and get over her Ex Boyfriend and boss. Scott Grant is the local Doctor and has been looking for a PA for awhile. Peyton decides to take the job and the sparks fly between Scott and Peyton right a way. She doesn't want to date but Scott is drawn to her and she is to him as well.
A good story line although I had a hard time connecting with Peyton. To me she just didn't seem to fit in Thunder Point.

I loved this story - I have been waiting for Scott to get his his own happy ever after. I love Robyn Carr's Virgin River, and have found that Thunder Point is just as great a place to visit. The people are friendly and welcoming and watch out for each other. That is just what Scott had been looking for when he moved to Thunder Point.

Scott's wife had died four years earlier when his daughter was born. For awhile he was just barely making it from day to day. Then he realized that he needed to make some changes. There were a couple things driving his decision. First, his mother and mother-in-law were driving him crazy. They were so competitive for the children's attention that he had no peace. Second, he wanted to be able to spend more time with his kids, which meant that a busy city practice wasn't a good fit. When he discovered that Thunder Point needed a doctor for its clinic, it was a perfect fit. The only thing it didn't really have was much scope for dating.

Peyton was looking for a temporary job while she decides what to do with her future. She is a physician's assistant who had just ended a three year relationship with a man who was a doctor and her boss. She was in love with him, but as much as she had tried to connect with his children, it just didn't happen. Then she found out he was also cheating on her. She sees Scott's ad for a PA and decides to check it out. It's like nothing she's ever done before, but she's willing to give it a try.

I loved how quickly Peyton became an important part of the town. She discovers that she has missed the small town atmosphere like the one she grew up in, now that she's been away from it for awhile. The values are much more like what she was used to, and the further away she was from her former relationship, the more she realized how wrong it had been for her. She's still not planning to get involved with Scott, not matter how appealing she finds him. But he and his family are so different that she quickly finds herself getting attached.

I liked the way that she and Scott became friends first. Scott was attracted to her from the first, but a rather funny misunderstanding made him think she was out of reach. Once that was straightened out, I enjoyed seeing them get to know each other and learn just how much they had in common. That's not to say they didn't each have their issues. Peyton was still very wary of risking her heart with a man who had children. She also has a very caring heart that makes it hard to refuse to help someone in need, and this causes some trouble when one of her ex's kids comes to her with a crisis. Scott has some problems believing that Peyton would be willing to pass up a much better job in order to stay in Thunder Point. He also has a little bit of an inferiority complex when he tries to compare himself to her ex.

I loved seeing the two of them keep getting closer, but got a bit frustrated when neither seemed to actually be talking to the other. A little bit better communication would have gone a long way toward reducing their problems. Scott makes some pretty big assumptions that get him into trouble.

I loved the secondary characters. Peyton's family was especially great. It was easy to see that her values came from her big family and the way that they believed in hard work and accountability. It was also fun to see Scott and his kids get swept up in the whole group when everyone came together for the harvest. I also enjoyed seeing more of other residents of Thunder Point. No big info dumps, just the day to day exposure to others, such as Cooper and Sarah, who have their baby, and Gina and Mac and the job change he is going through. That also brings the return of a character who will likely have his own book soon. Gina's mom Carrie has a crisis that has help coming from an unexpected direction. I'm looking forward to seeing what might come from that wrinkle.

The Promise is book 5 in Robyn Carr’s Thunder Point series, and let me say, I have fallen more in love with this series with each book.
One thing that I love about Robyn Carr is that her books deal with real life situations. Her characters are so well written that you truly feel for them, you root for them and you get mad at them. You feel all the emotions from these characters and stories jumping off the pages. You not only fall in love with the main characters, but the secondary characters and the small town of Thunder Point too.
Dr. Scott Grant came to Thunder Point after the death of his wife with his two small children. Scott wanted a slower life and the ability as a doctor to help people and make a true difference. Peyton Lacoumette is a Physician Assistant left a very successful practice after ending a bad relationship and has come to Thunder Point to figure out her next move. Peyton has no interest in dating any man, let alone another man with kids.
Scott is interested in Peyton from the moment he meets her. Scott is finally ready to move on from the loss of his wife. He wants to share his and his children’s life with someone. After their initial meeting, Scott and Peyton believe that neither is interested in the other for various reasons and they begin to form a wonderful friendship. Through this friendship they are able to grow close to one another. Their love story is one that I truly love to read. The kind that slowly builds over time. They are there for one another when needed and help each other through tough spots.
I am sure like other fans of this series, it was great to finally get Scott’s HEA. I have enjoyed him and his children from previous books. He is just one of those romance characters that you cannot help but fall in love with. He has been through so much, but still has this huge heart for his friends and the people of Thunder Point. I loved that Peyton was from this huge crazy family and grew up on a farm. For Scott and his children to be able to have the love and support that came with Peyton’s family was wonderful.
Scott and Peyton complement each other so well. They both have amazing hearts.
I loved this trip to Thunder Point. I enjoyed seeing into the lives of past character from previous books. I am hopeful that our sweet lovable Rawley has found a potential love interest in good hearted Carrie.
Thank you Robyn Carr for another wonderful trip to Thunder Point.
Happy Reading!

Even though Peyton isn't the usual type Scott goes for (blonde), he's immediately attracted to her, even when he's under the impression that men aren't her thing. With Scott believing this to be true, it gives them the opportunity to become good friends before anything else.

Peyton, having just gotten out of a relationship with a doctor with kids, would never have taken the job with Scott had she known he was a single father. With how all the townspeople love to talk, all they divulged to her was that Scott was a dedicated family man.

When Scott gets called away on an emergency with no babysitter in sight, Peyton wonders if she's finding herself falling back into the pattern of her previous relationship. It turns out not to be the case, because unlike her previous relationship, his kids adore Peyton. Both the kids and Peyton take an immediate like to one another. Not only do Scott's kids like Peyton, but the whole town of Thunder Point. The locals easily welcomed her into the fold, and treated her as a longtime friend.

Her relationship with Scott was not without its bumps. Of course her ex has to show to cause trouble. He wants Peyton back but feels he's justified in his behavior and treatment of her. Of course to the ex, everything he did was Peyton's fault and never his. This then causes the conflict between Peyton and Scott that every romance must have to keep the story interesting. Otherwise their journey would have been a little too perfect.

I enjoyed both characters together as well as on their own. I felt like I got to know Scott a whole lot more in this one than any of the previous installments. I got to see a brand new side of him other than the widower with two small children. Peyton was the perfect match for him; someone who is his equal and adores children. She was a woman of strong moral character; she stepped in and helped out a family when they needed her, even though they were just outright cruel to her for years. I would like to see what becomes of that family in Ms. Carr's future installments.

THE PROMISE is home-run hit from Ms. Carr. Whenever I'm in a reading slump, I know I can pick up a Robyn Carr novel and climb into a town of friends and family that I never tire of visiting.

Book five in this series and I really enjoyed it!! 3.5 🌟 as well.

The characters were so like-able and sweet, I was rooting for them! I liked that our main characters got to know one another and laugh together and just be friends for a bit before the romance kicked in, it felt so genuine.

Their backstories were so good too, Scott's was heartbreaking and Peyton's was hard but it just worked.

Overall, really enjoyable!

Peyton has just gone through the kind of breakup that just keeps on giving. She's a physician's assistant and, needing a new job, she applies at a small town clinic. The doctor, Scott, is dubious that she will stay since she's clearly overqualified, but is happy to have her while he can.

Peyton spends most of the book trying to figure out all the same things everyone does after a major breakup. Did she see what she wanted to see in her ex? What was he really like? Why did she stay in a bad situation for so long? She's not angsty at all; she just wants to understand what happened. This is Peyton - she's calm, intelligent, thorough, and articulate.

Scott is much less emotionally sophisticated than Peyton. He was very happily married to his high school sweetheart until four years ago when she died after childbirth. In his mind relationships are very simple. You meet someone you really like, you fall in love, and then you get married. He falls hard for Peyton very quickly.

I liked this book because of the way Peyton took her time to figure out what happened in her past relationship and why she let it happen. It was a search for understanding rather than the more common complaining about being damaged. I also loved that while Scott was handsome and smart, he was a really sweet guy. The dialog was well written in a very spare style that I enjoyed.

My biggest complaint is that since I haven't read any of the other books in this series, I was half way through before I could keep track of all the relationships. The other complaint is that while there is a HEA, the book just stops. I got the impression that I am supposed to buy the next book to find out what happens to these characters. It really needed about ten more pages.

Part of the Thunder Point series, one of my favorites, THE PROMISE explores how Scott Grant, widower with two small children, is working his busy family practice. He needs help--with the kids during emergencies, and his practice as it continues to grow. He's advertised, but has yet to find the right person until Peyton Lacoumette wanders into town and makes application. She's a very experienced PA, coming of a bad break-up with the cardiologist she'd previously worked with. That man had three hellions for kids who have broken Peyton's spirit, leaving her questioning herself. With 7 younger brothers and sisters, she'd always assumed she knew what kids needed and how to love them. But not those three. And a new man, particularly a man with kids, is NOT at all what she's looking for or even wants.

But Scott falls hard and begins a slow, careful attempt to get Peyton to trust him. She has her doubts and it takes both emergencies requiring that she stay with his kids, and yet another emergency with Hellion #1(15 yrs old, pregnant, and threatened by her father with an abortion) to impress on Peyton have different Scott is from fancy-car-driving Ted, for whom life is all about him.

But does Peyton want to stay in a small town, paid less than half or even a third what she can earn elsewhere? Will she take that fabulous job with the woman surgeon from Seattle who seeks her out? I'll never tell!

Scott and Peyton meet when she signs on to work with him at his small clinic. The position was supposed to be a temporary solution while she gets her life together, but the town and the doctor prove to be much more than she ever anticipated.

Scott and Peyton both believed they were off limits to each other so they were able to grow close without any pressure. Scott and Peyton both believed in the importance of family and it helped to cement their connection. Their romance took it's time and evolved in a very organic way. Thunder Point and it's citizens really helped to sell Peyton on small town life and on Scott.

The conflict came when Peyton's ex Doctor Ted pops up to stir the pot. He makes Scott feel like he has less to offer Peyton than a Doctor with money living in a big city. But those things aren't as important to Peyton as family and a meaningful relationship.

This book is a great window back into the world of Thunder Point. The scenery is so full of life and warmth that gives everything a depth and feeling. The cast of characters we have already gotten to know so well continue to evolve and become more endearing. I can't wait to go back to Thunder Point again.

Can't really decide how to rate this book. I think that 3.5 -4 promising stars it is.

Dr. Scott Grant moved to Thunder Point awhile back to escape the Grandmothers and because his wife Serena died during childbirth and he wanted a fresh start a place to help people. He is hot, honest, charming and good looking.

Peyton Laucomette has just come out of a shitty relationship where she was taken for granted. Her partner and boss used her for his practice and to look after his three extremely spoilt children. She annoyed me and I can't really say why. She wanted to move forward but was actually pretty stuck in her past. I'm not cold hearted but I don't know if I would have helped my ex's daughter. Tough choice but I think I would have.

Ms. Carr's Virgin River Series is the longest series that I have continued to read there is just something about her writing style that appeals to me. I hope that there will be many more books to come for this series as well.

I love this series just as much as Virgin River!!

I love reading Robyn's books and Thunder Point is now one of my favorite series. Each time I read her books Robyn pulls me right in and makes me fall in love with the town and it's people. It is like going home to visit old friends. THE PROMISE was exactly like that for me. As soon as I started reading, I couldn't stop. I was flipping the pages like a mad woman, dying to know what was going to happen. The town and the people make Peyton fall in love with it all, how can she resist the pull she feels there? Her family, who we get to meet in THE PROMISE is awesome and I hope we will learn more about them in this series. In each book, Robyn brings you up to date on couples that have been introduced in the other books in the series. It makes for a nice sense of community.

This book helped me think about wealth in a different way. Wealth where it's not evident by luxurious consumer goods, wealthy people who rise at dawn and work til dark, often in the dirt or with animals. And even more than the material wealth in their lives is the richness of personal relationships.

After reading The Hero (book 3--Devon McAllister/Spencer Lawson) and The Chance (book 4--Eric Gentry/Laine Carrington), I was ready to catch up with the characters of Thunder Point. In Robyn Carr's, The Promise (book 5), she tells Scott Grant and Peyton Lacoumette's story. This is my favorite book in the series so far. Peyton is a thirty-five year old single physician's assistant who recently ended a 3 year relationship with her boss, cardiologist Ted Ramsdale. Ted was a divorced father of three unruly kids who shared custody with his ex wife. Peyton happens upon Thunder Point and applies for a job with Dr. Scott Grant. The salary she is offered is much lower than what she was making. Peyton is told that Scott is a devoted family man. She tells him she is not interested in taking on child care duties as part of her job. She decides to take the job because it's only three hours from her parents' farm and she likes the friendly people. But she only commits to a three month trial period. A lot can happen in three months! I enjoyed the characters-- Scott and Peyton. The pages just flew once I stared reading their story! I will definitely be reading more books in this series!

So dumb. So predictable. Woman was a PA and paramour and babysitter for famous cardiologist. He replaced her literally. Then, she takes a job for a family Dr, widowed with two little kids. She's got a huge six figure job offer, but instead wants small town guy. Blows away her career and expensive training. Plus all the driving the characters do from Oregon to California seems absurd. She'll now be all of above for way less money. Once she's ensconced in her role, he'll get equally as tired if her as the first guy. I was hoping, she'd take the job. The second guy has annoying parent and mother in law situation as well. The side romance of PTSD vet, Rawley and the sandwich gal makes no sense either.

Another great book in Robyn's Thunder Point series. Once again serious social issues are faced head on. I will not spoil anything for you but I strongly recommend you read the series through, or you will miss the back stories of all of the core characters as well as being introduced to this books new ones. Enjoy!

Loving this series! Believable characters that make you fall in love with them. They make you laugh, cry, and feel sorry for them. It’s about family & wonderful friends that become family, and everyone looking out for one another. From stories told by my family, this series is the way our grandparents grew up, helping a fellow neighbor out & being there for each other!

At this point I almost feel like I live in Thunder Point, because I feel like I know so many of the residents! 😂 I’m happy to see Peyton and Scott happy together - and now I want to visit the Lacoumette farm, too!
