Aefre & Constantine

Rate this book
This book takes place in 1452. It shows Aefre and Constantine each growing in different ways and it is the starting point of Aefre finally taking back control of her life after her torment at the hands of her Vampire sibling, Lance, and we also see Constantine’s feelings grow ever deeper for his beloved and how he will go to any length necessary to keep her as just his.

There are characters that threaten to come between them, but after more than one deceptive compromise, Aefre seemingly gets what she wants from her sire. But is Aefre’s desire to fully embrace her Vampire nature coupled with Constantine’s past refusal to give her his whole heart the beginning of the end for them?

It is very interesting to see how Constantine's mind work. With this book you can see the dept of how he feels for Aefre. It is bordering obsession, but at the same time is so raw, that you just have to believe him. For me, he is a very complicated character, he kept too much and says nothing. He is so infuriating, and possessive, but intriguing and caring in his own way. He reminds me in a way of the men in the Romanticism literature, all or nothing.

If you haven't read the Forever series, this will be very insightful, to understand the relationship between Constantine and Aefre.

I enjoyed the flashbacks in the main series as much as the main storylines so this was fun & gave some more insight into Constantine & Aefre’s dynamic. I’d love to read some more from later on, how she came to leave him again & how it came to be the way it was at the beginning of the main series. Quick, easy, trashy read, I loved it.
