Sometimes, the worst scars are the ones that can't be seen ...

After fleeing her abusive father, Faith’s goal is to find a job, and earn enough to finally be able to live in safety. When she ends up stranded in the sleepy town of Silver, it’s not long before she meets Garrett. His willingness to help her one minute, and quickness to drop her the next, leaves her confused by the guarded, sexy man.

Although Garrett has left the military, the war has returned with him. The new girl in town captures his attention, but if he’s to keep his scars hidden, Faith is no-go. His heart is telling him to trust, but his mind is determined to get the better of him.

As the pair attempt to deal with their wounds, tragedy threatens to rip them apart. With the support of a host of new friends, and their own strength, Garrett and Faith wrestle with their pasts, and an unexpected love they fear won’t last.

These Simple Scars by Author Emma Wicker. It is a friends-to-lovers novel.

Faith and Garrett are two young, attractive people. Both running from past scars, both looking for something. Faith grew up in Philadelphia and has made her way to Silver. Garrett grew up in Silver and has fond memories of the small town. Neither are prepared for each other, their formidable feelings, or impending fall.

"I’m pretty sure there’s not a girl on earth that wouldn’t stare at his delectable rear."

These Simple Scars was a fast-paced novel filled with great friends and love in a small town. I had such strong hope for Faith and Garrett. They each had their own struggles to overcome, but were fighters and pushed for better things in life. I loved that fate brought them to each other, and in bringing them together brought an entire cast of great characters that I am thrilled to get more of.

“Where the hell did you come from, cause I’m thinkin’ you’re an angel sent straight from heaven.”

Of course no novel from Author Emma Wicker would be complete without some hot and sexy times. These moments ramped up the energy in the story and gave us a look at the connection of these two characters in a different light.

"These scars show it’s a survivor, and that’s pretty beautiful."

Through twists and turns, highs and lows These Simple Scars revealed a beautiful love and hope for the future.

Great Read

I love the characters in this book. It was so nice to read about characters that actually go through thing in their lives that actually are going on in the real world of today.
The book kept my interest all the way from the beginning to the end, and making me feel excited that there will be a book 2. The author, Emma Wicker has a real gift of keeping your interest in the characters , look forward to more of her books.

If you love a heartfelt romance, a bit of dirty thrown in, but with a strong underlying message, then this book is absolutely perfect for you. I loved it. It's fun and flirty but with passion and emotion. So many CRs are one dimensional, but not this book. The characters are real, the romance is raw, and the plot is strong. I highly recommend this!
