But when the mysterious girl disappears without a trace, he vows to find her and make her his.
But he'll need to save her first... Camille Artiga had been preparing for a promising life as a doctor, when the person she should have been able to trust more than anyone forced her to give up her dreams. Now, Camille has somehow found herself pulled into the dark world of drugs and crime.
Left for dead, Camille manages to stumble into the Middleburg Police Station, and the arms of Chief Gallo. She doesn't know what to think of the myriad of feelings the strong man stirs in both her mind and body. Everything about him makes Camille feel safe, cherished. Something she hasn't felt in far too long.
The investigation into the drug epidemic plaguing Middleburg is heating up. No one is safe anymore, not even the Chief of Police.
**This is book three in the Blue Line Series, all featuring a different hot police officer at the Middleburg Police Station. Each book is safe with no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a HEA. There is an over arching story thread about the rising crime in Middleburg, but each book can be read as a stand alone.
Intoxication by Brandy Ayers an earth scorching five-star read. This is the third book in the Blue line series, and each book deals with the life of a different hot officer of the law in the Middleburg police station, so each book can be read as a stand-alone, but I have loved watching the story develop over the books and getting to know all of the characters better with each book revealing more details. This time it’s the turn of hot older Chief Jon Gallo, he has dedicated his life to protecting and serving and taking care of his niece Sophie after his brother sadly passed. No woman has ever been able to compare to his job, his sense of community and loyalty to his brothers and sisters in blue. He gave up on woman, never expecting one would fall across his desk after being arrested for attempting to evade officers. Especially one who is so young, a chance encounter is all they had but she is all Jon has been able to think about for a whole month. He vows to find her and make her his, but he doesn’t imagine the way she will come into his life a second time. Camille Artiga is mixed up in all the wrong things, and all due to circumstances beyond her control, just as she steps one step forward she is forced to take two back, she just wants a quiet life, in the house her family have left her. Sadly for Camille she has ended up wrapped in the drug chaos that is swamping Middleburg and it doesn’t look like she will manage to get herself out, without a little help at least. When she is left for dead, she makes it to a place she hopes will help her stay safe, little does she know there is a man there who has been waiting for the chance to keep her safe. This is a fun and romantic read, it’s nice seeing the characters we have met in previous books pop up and see how they are getting along, but most of all It was nice seeing some people get what they deserve in the end. But will the trouble in Middleburg ever be solved? And will everyone get their just deserts?
Chief Jon Gallo has dedicated his life to the force, his men, and the protection of the community, but with this came the complication of women not understanding the importance and complete focus of the he had on the job, so he gave up a long time ago causing him to spend his life alone.
Until a one chance passing completely changes his perspective on life. He shouldn’t want her, but his mind just cannot get off of her. But there are many things standing in the way such as she is far too young for him, and she is also somehow wrapped up in drug ring that is currently plaguing his hometown of Middleburg. But when this mysterious girl suddenly disappears, he vows to find her and make her his. But he will have to save her first.
Camille Artiga was preparing to start living her dreams and training to become a doctor, that is until the one person she should be able to trust makes her give up on them dreams, and finds him pulling her into the dangerous dark world of drugs and crime. Stumbling into Middleburg police station after being left for dead. Camille is brought into the arms of Chief Gallo in which bring feelings that Camille has never felt before, everything about the strong man makes her feel safe, and cherished something she hasn’t felt or had in a very long time. But with the drug epidemic gradually increasing no one is safe anymore, not even the Chief.
Intoxication is book 3 in the Blue Line Series by Brandy Ayers and my Third book from this author. This book can be read as a standalone, but also as part of a series with characters popping up in each other’s stories.
This book is a brilliant hot, sexy, action packed read that to top of the greatness of this book it’s has a hot policeman that makes you swoon. This book had me hooked from the first page and every page after. It was a quick read that has you connected to these characters’ and their stories. For this being a novella I always expect the storyline to be rushed and then suddenly come to an end and I’m so glad this book wasn’t like this. It wasn’t rushed, your questions got answered and it was packed full with goodness. I really would have liked if it was a full-length novel, and for Jon & Camilla’s story to carry on and develop more beyond the end of the book but I’m also so happy it ended on a HEA.
Another brilliant thing about this book to me was that it was written in dual POV. I love reading books this way as it gives you a better insight to the character’s thoughts and feelings rather than reading the story from just one person POV. I like that we get the characters from the previous stories included in the current book, and get to see their stories continue.
This book also gives an introduction to many other characters within this story in which could have possibilities for another story.
Jon Gallo has always believed he would never find that someone that understands the kind of job he has, and where he has to spend most of his time. He also has got used to the idea of never having children of his own. Until Camille. Being 45 he thinks its ridiculous that someone like her would even look his way. He may be older but he can keep up with the younger guys in the precinct just as good as the rest. But Camille brings out a side of Jon that he never expected to be or feel. He will do anything to be close to her and protect her even if it’s just friends. But he never expected it to be so hard to not want her after volunteering to watcher over her and protect her from the danger in her life.
Camille has high expectations for herself and her dreams. She is head-strong, intelligent gives it her all. But things take a turn for the worse when she is forced to give up on her dream, and pushed into the life of crime and drugs. Being arrested was the worse that Camille could ever feel, that is until she goes through things that someone should never have to go through. But she is determined to survive and fight back and get justice for the crimes they committed against her and the business that the people are running. Meeting Jon suddenly makes everything worthwhile. She doesn’t see his age, all she sees is the incredible man that will do anything to protect her, with a great personality and a body for days. She will stop at nothing to show her affections and feeling for him, but will events make everything break before it even begins.
Seriously do not miss this hot, action packed read! That has you eagerly awaiting the next hot police officer to come along, and sweep you off your feet!
Intoxication: Blue Line Book Three by Brandy Ayers is the third book in the Blue Line Series. This book can be read as a stand alone but I would recommend you read the other two books also as you will see some of those characters in this book. One of the things I enjoy about a series is when you get to see what happens to the characters in previous books in other books in the series. This story is about a chance meeting that could change a persons life forever. This story is full of action, suspense and of course hot, steamy romance. These characters will have you sitting on the edge of your seat one minute and needing ice water the next. They will take you on a roller coaster ride of various emotions that will leave you wanting more. You will enjoy how this author has the ability to create a story and characters that really just pop off the page and pull you into their lives. Find out what happens when he has spent his life on the job and now when someone needs saving, will he know what to do.
Chief Jon Gallo has dedicated his life to the force. His sole purpose is to protect his community and his men. No woman has been able to handle this dedication so he gave up finding someone to be with a long time ago. Then she comes into his life. She is intoxicating, young and he knows that he shouldn't want her. When she disappears from his life, he is determined to find her and make her his. What happens when she just shows up at the office, bloody and beaten?
Camille Artiga had a promising future until she loses her parents then one person forces her to give up all her dreams. She has now found herself pulled into a world of drugs and crime. When she stumbles into the the police station, she doesn't realize that things from that point on will change for her. One look at him and she is attracted. She feels safe, secure, cherished something she hasn't felt in a long time. Is she safe from her world or will it become the death of her?
Jon and Camille's relationship is one where they see each other at a chance meeting and they seemed to be hooked to each other after that point. What will happen when feelings start to develop between them? Will they act on them? He is determined to protect her at all costs, but will he but himself in danger at the same time? You will enjoy these two characters together, they are great and really connected. Camille is a hurt, tour down female that just needs to heal and feel that she is worth something. It really is great to see her grow throughout this story and become the person she is at the end. Jon is a gentleman and tries really hard to deny his feelings for her. He is not use to being alone and women rejecting him pretty much because of his job. Will he finally figure out that feelings are okay and age doesn't matter? Together these two really do make this story flow and really do make this story. Their story will pull you in from the first word and keep you engaged until the end. Find out what happens with these two, will they find their HEA, are they safe?
This is my favorite of book of Brandy Ayers yet. I can't wait to see what she has next for us in this series. I enjoy that she can make the characters come alive for us. Brandy lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, son, daughter, their boxer and their cat. She has been writing in one form or another since she has been a child and has decided that her English/Irish heritage is boring. This is a story that you will lose track of time with and find that you can't put it down until the end. You will enjoy how the story flows for one situation to another. These characters will leave you wanting more for them. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to see what happens with this couple as much as I did.
“If you like a hot man in uniform doing naughty things to strong, smart women, this is the series for you!”
Intoxication is the third book in the captivating Blue Line Series by Brandy Ayers. This story can be read as a standalone, but the other two books are soooo very good, and the characters from the these books also make appearances in this book, as well as there being an investigation that is a common thread through all the three books. So I really recommend reading the other two first before starting this story. We met Police Chief of Middleburg Police Station, Jon Gallo, in the first book- as he is Sophie’s Uncle. And then again in book two- as he is Brian Coy’s mentor, who helped mentor Brian from a life of petty crime to being the exemplary police officer he is today. Even though he was a part of the first two books, and we knew a little bit about him, we didn’t really get to know him fully. So, with this book Jon gets his own story and we get to find out much more about this incredible man. Jon Gallo is a career police officer- he loves his job, protecting the community, upholding the law and the dedicated police men and women that he works with. He’s been on the force for twenty-five years now, working his way up the ranks and has been police chief for the past ten years. The forty-five year old has never had the time or inclination for a long term relationship. The demands of his job were usually enough to keep women from sticking around too long, which never really bothered him in the past. Then this latest investigation brought her through the station doors and his life hasn’t been the same since. He knows immediately that she is the one, and he must have her. He isn’t sure exactly how, but he will make it happen. Just because he hasn’t even spoken to her yet, or that he is twice her age, or that she is a person of interest in this latest investigation, - is all irrelevant, he doesn’t care about any of that, all he knows is she is his and is in danger, so he will do everything in his power to protect her. Camille Artiga (Cami) is a very lovely twenty-three year old woman who had a very bright future ahead of her, with a career in medicine in her sights. But fate dealt her a blow when the one person she should have been able to count on the most uses her, betrays her and then leaves her for dead. She eventually finds safety with Jon, and so begins their incredible tale. With her life in peril, it is up to Jon to keep her out of harm’s way. Something he is more than happy to do. As these two spend time together, they discover the other may just hold the key to their peace and happiness. But danger has a way of finding you, even when you think you’re prepared for it. Can Jon do as he vowed to do and protect Cami from this danger? Or will he be blindsided and outsmarted? Can they both come to terms with their age difference, or will it be what drives them apart? All these questions and so much more will be answered by reading this brilliant story. I have loved all three books in this series so far, but there is something about this one that captured my heart and made it stand out more, for me. I can’t say it was any one thing that made me love this story more. It was a combination of things from the beautifully written storyline, to the wonderful characters, as well as it being a very suspenseful, exciting, sexy and very romantic story. With these qualities, Ms. Ayers has ensured that with each instalment this series just keeps getting better and better. The story has a great pace and is a quick, easy read. I read it in an afternoon. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series, ‘Disturbing the Peace’.
This is the third book in the Blue Line series. It can be read as a stand alone but there are past characters in this story. The other books in the series is Reckless Conduct and Possession. This author always surprises me with her writing. You think you know what is coming but it is the total opposite of what you were thinking. This love story is also just as addicting as the others. It only took me a couple of hours to devour this quick read.
Chief Jon Gallo’s whole life is the men and women that is on his force. He has always put his men and community first. Jon has never been in love because his job always got in the way. One day he sees this very intoxicating woman and that moment he knew she would be his some day. The problem is she is much younger than him and she also might be involved in one of his very dangerous cases. When Jon hears that this woman went missing he has a new top mission finding her. Once he finds her he is going to make her his. Will the chief get his happy ending or will it be too deadly for him?
Camille Artiga has dedicated her whole life into becoming a doctor. When that dream is crushed by a person she loves she finds herself on the dark side. She was left for dead and all she could think about is to get to safety. That is when Camille stumbles into the Chief’s life. When she sees him she feels something for him that she has never felt before. Camille feels safe and cherished when she near Jon. Camille has not felt safe in a long time. She has deep feelings for the chief but does he feel the same about her? She is so much younger than him but age is just a number right? Will Camille get her fresh start with a new man by her side or will her past come back and destroy it all?
I love a good suspense with some hot romance in it. If you are like me you too will love this book. The book had me on the first page. The story maybe a Novella but it sure has a complete storyline. You will fall in love with the characters. Jon is so sweet and also very protective of Camille. He would do anything to protect his Camille. He is the perfect hero. Camille is very strong and also brave. She knew what she was doing was wrong but she could not do nothing about it. She has deep feelings for Jon that warmed my heart. This book is in dual POV. I love it when you can read on how the man feels throughout the book. This author puts the perfect amount of detail in her writing. When you are reading her books it feels like you are also there. I am anxiously waiting to see what this author will write next in this addictive series.
Intoxication is the third book in the Blue Line series and follows the story of Jon and Camille there story starts when Jon’s eyes meet the person he is supposed to be with but all of a sudden she vanishes before he can tell her how he feel and how will his heart survives if he can find her soon.
Chief Jon Gallo is stuck in his ways, the father figure within the station but always wanting the love and family his brother had but had never found that special person. The case regarding the drug dealing in his town is getting to him until they have a lead, a young girl is arrested and brought into the station. As the young girl is lead across the reception their eyes met and Jon instantly felt a connection to this precious woman.
Camille is frightened she hasn’t said a work to the police but upon release from the station her world is turned upside down. Hence why she is now crawling into the same station she left days ago beaten and bruised and wanting to be helped out of the life she has gotten herself in.
As the station is celebrating the marriage of one of their finest a loud crash happens in reception and as they all run in Jon recognises the beaten up girl as Camille and instantly has the urge to protect this fragile women. As they rush her to the hospital Jon is determined not to leave this women and shouts and growls at anyone who tries and tells him otherwise. As she starts to recover in hospital the details come out that she was tortured by the men who are running the drugs ring and this make Jon more determined to look out for her. As she regains more strength she is drawn to this wonderful man who when he is around she has a sense of calm and protection, until an attempt on her life is stopped, Jon gives his team an ultimatum that he either takes Camille away and hides with no one knowing where or he will not be responsible for his actions.
Over the course of the book you see the POV of Jon who is in his forties lusting after this twenty something young woman, but in Camille’s point of view she is an old soul who needs the love and protection from Jon but he will not give it to her out of properness. I enjoyed the internal arguments with each character and the fact that you cannot really choose who you love you just know when your soul mate appears. The new characters that were brought into the story where an add bonus and hoping in the next books you get to see these characters mature.
Intoxication: Blue Line Book Three By: Brandy Ayers 5 out of 5 stars
The story Intoxication: Blue Line Book Three by Brandy Ayers is a romantic suspense book. This is the story of Chief Jon Gallo and Camille Artiga. This is the third book in the Blue Line series and I loved it just as much as the first two. It has action, mystery, and steamy romance. These books have a storyline that continues with each book but can be read as a stand-alone. I personally suggest reading them in order as each of them has characters that you will fall in love with and root for them to get their HEA. In this story, you have Camille Artiga who has disappeared and the Chief of Police Jon Gallo who has vowed to find her. Camille is happy going to school, however, is made to give up her dreams. She is pulled into a world that she doesn’t want any part of however doesn’t feel she has a choice in the matter. Camille is a strong person to go through all that she has and survive. She is comforted by the presence of Chief Jon Gallo and her feelings for him only get more intense over time. She is not someone who has had a lot of experience with relationships and seems to wear her emotions on her sleeve. Now she finds herself being protected by Jon and does everything she knows how to get him to notice her. Will she be able to convince Jon to take the next step?
Chief Jon Gallo doesn’t understand how he could be having such intense feelings for Camille as he only saw her one time. He has vowed to find her after she disappears and that he will never let anything happen to her again. Jon is a man that knows that he is in trouble as Camille is making him want to cross lines that he knows he shouldn’t. He is a by the book police chief, however, finds that would give up everything for Camille. Jon is a gentleman and does what is expected of him, however with him protecting Camille his resolve is breaking down. Jon is quickly falling in love. Will he act on his feelings?
I love when a series has characters that overlap as you get to catch up on what is happening in everyone’s lives. This is a book that drew me in from the very beginning and I read in one sitting. This is a series that has me anxiously waiting for the next installment. This book does include violence and adult situations. It would be for those 18 years of age or older.
Intoxication (Blue Line Book Three) by Brandy Ayers
5 Stars
Camille Artiga was at one time almost top of her class in pre-med at The University of Pittsburgh, but she was left no choice by the one person she should have always been able to trust, but to drop out and take a job at a pharmacy stocking shelves. She, not by her own choice has since found herself involved in drugs and illegal dealings and had even been brought in for questioning by an officer and then quickly released and then spent way too much time locked up in a basement, being forced to endure awful abuse.
Jon Gallo, chief of police at the Middleburg Police Station, had spent his life dedicated to his job, his men, and his community. He made up his mind long ago that no woman would ever be able to handle his first priority being his job so he gave up wanting any kind of relationship years ago, until one day a young girl was brought in for questioning and then released….Even knowing that she was somehow connected to the ever growing crimes in his community, and also knowing he had to be twice her age it didn't stop him from wanting her, but she disappeared without a trace.
When her captors no longer had any use for her she was finally able to make her escape and made her way to the police station, where she could go no further and collapsed. She wakes up in a hospital, where Jon has been right next to her every second since she was brought in. She has no idea what to think about this man who has become her protector except that it's the first time in a very long time she feels safe. Finding out that she holds information that could help in the investigation of all the drug crimes happening in Middleburg, Chief Jon Gallo risks everything including his job and his life to keep her safe.
Of the three books in this series so far, I think this one is my favorite, although I loved the first two as well. I love the build up of the underlying story of the drug epidemic building in the town, and the characters from previous books still being very much involved. The author handled the May-December romance in this story beautifully and I am very much looking forward to the next story to see what happens next.
Chief Jon Gallo has never had a relationship, he is married to his job. He has dedicated his life to the Police force force and he would never expect a woman to understand that. His men are his family and he will stop at nothing to stop the crime moving into his community, he is about protecting what is his. He has spent his life alone but he has been content with that. That was until she walked into his station. It was only a chance sighting but it was enough for her to get into his head. He is too old for her and should not be having thoughts about her like he was but he couldn’t stop himself. She has disappeared without a trace, it has been months and no one knew where she is. The only thing he knows about her is that she is somehow involved with the drug ring that is taking over his town. If he finds her he has vowed to himself he will protect her.
Camille Artiga was in pre-med studying to be a doctor but had to leave that behind. She had lost her parents and she was supposed to be looked after, supported and cared for by family but when that family demanded she give up her studying, give up her lifelong dreams she had to take what she could get. had been preparing for a promising life as a doctor, when the person she should have been able to trust more than anyone forced her to give up her dreams for their own selfishness. Camille soon found herself thrown into a world of drugs and crime. A dark world with no compromises, a world that may very well kill her. That is until she manages to escape the horror she has had to endure and finds her way literally stumbling into the Middleburg Police Station.
Can Chief Gallo keep Camille safe? Will he take on more than he thought? Will Camille find her safe haven? Will she be able to escape the terror stalking her?
This is the third book in this series and I have enjoyed each and every one. What more could you want in a story? It is fun, sexy, and a quick read. Trust me you will enjoy this book to the very end.
Intoxication is the third installment in the Blue Line Series by Brandy Ayers, and it is time for Police Chief Jon Gallo to find his “one”. Jon is a 25 year veteran of the police force in the small town of Middleburg. For years he has put his officers at the forefront of his life, but recently he’s begun to feel lonely and there is only one woman whom he can’t stop thinking about, Camille Artiga. A suspect in an ongoing investigation of the drug problem in Middleburg, Camille disappeared from the police station after being questioned weeks before, leaving Jon searching for and unable to find her. One afternoon there is a disruption at the station, a badly beaten and nearly unrecognizable woman is found in the vestibule. Jon recognizes her immediately as Camille, a Camille who has been apparently tortured. Camille is a twenty something young woman who has had a tough few years, once a star medical student the loss of her parents and subsequent bad relationship with a drug dealing family member has led her to do things that she normally wouldn’t. After being taken hostage and beaten within an inch of her life Camille escapes and runs to the only place she has felt safe in several years and to the only man she has been fantasizing about since that one glance across the room, Middleburg police station and Jon Gallo. After a brief hospitalization, Jon takes Camille to a safe house where he is bound and determined to protect her until they find the people responsible for both her injuries and the rampant drug problem in Middleburg. Will Jon be able to protect her? I love this series!! While Intoxication can be read as a standalone there is so much that would be missed without reading the previous two books in this series. My only issue with the series is that each book is far too short! I get to the end and can’t help but say “that’s it?” Thank you Ms. Ayers for the great stories but please write faster.
5 stars Intoxication is the third book in the Blue Line series by Brandy Ayers and I can’t get enough of these sexy boys in blue!! Although the books could be read as a standalone I would definitely recommend reading the previous two just to get more background knowledge of some of the characters. I’m pretty sure that these men are getting sexier ad the series progresses! In the story we read about Jon and Camille. Jon has appeared in all of the previous stories as a secondary character so I was really looking forward to reading his story and what a sexy, steamy one it was! Jon was just amazing!!! I liked that he was an older character – he had that sexy silver fox thing going on which I kind of loved! I already knew he was a kind and caring character after reading scenes between him and his niece Sophie so what takes place between him and Camille was kind of expected! The chemistry between him and Camille was super-hot but also I loved the sweet tender moments that they shared. Jon really wanted to take care of Camille especially considering her past. I really liked Camille’s character, she was strong and she had to be considering what she had been through. I liked how she looked up to Jon and knew that he would protect her at all costs. I have to admit though that I didn’t see the ending coming and certainly had my heart in my mouth! As with the other books in this series there was a great suspense theme running through it that made it an exciting read. I think the author has a great writing style. Her books are easy to read and the characters are fantastic! You can’t help but fall in love with their stories. Although the books are fairly short they don’t have anything missing from them and don’t feel rushed. There is background information from the other books too that help build a bigger picture of what has been going on in the town. I really hope there is more to come from this series as I am really enjoying these sexy police officers!!
Intoxication by Brandy Ayers is the third book in the Blue Line Series and it's amazing! This is one of those series that just keeps getting better and better! I would definitely recommend reading the first two books in the series before starting this one. It's not necessary but it helps to give a background and we also see previous characters in it as well. Another amazing 5 stars!
Chief Jon Gallo thinks he has everything, he thinks life is great, until he meets Camille Artiga. She was being questioned in his police station, and he thought he'd never see her again, and he honestly isn't sure he wants to see her again. But when she finds her way into his police station again, bruised and beaten within an inch of her life, he knows something is terribly wrong, and he'll do anything to protect her. He can't help but blame himself for her being hurt and he will do anything and stop at nothing to make sure she never experiences this type of pain again.
Camille Artiga had once been on top of the world, she was excelling in college and majoring in pre-med, all until her brother (who is a p.o.s) gave her an ultimatum. She didn't know what else to do except to drop out and fall in line with her brothers orders. But now it's gotten to the point of no return, her brother is involved in dealing drugs and he has some terrible men working for him. They beat Camille and leave her for dead, and now that she made her way to the police station, she can help catch him and his minions. Camille is starting to feel things for Jon but can't imagine him feeling anything back for her. So what happens when Camille needs to disappear for awhile, and Jon volunteers to take her away? Will Camille and Jon finally give in to their feelings?
Brandy Ayers does an amazing job and I love this series! It's short and sweet series and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
Intoxication, by Brandy Ayers, is the third book of the Blue Line series. This book is contemporary romantic suspense. Intoxication could certainly be read as a stand alone, but as the author notes, there is a continuing story that overlaps each of the books of the series. I personally highly recommend reading the books in this series in order. This will allow you to follow the rising crime story that is shared among each book, as well as, getting to read about each of the characters and how they develop story to story whether the are the main character or a second character.
Let's talk about Intoxication!! Chief Jon Gallo was an ever present participant in the previous two book in the series and I was excited to read his story in Intoxication. Not only is he the Chief of the Middleburg Police Station, but he was also a single father who raised his daughter. He has a strong caring nature which we experienced in the previous books and we feel that in his story as well – maybe even more so! He's a protector hands down! All I thought previously of Jon was a solid father figure, however, after reading Intoxication, my eyes have a totally different view on him – one of an attractive and desirable older man that is difficult to resist.
Camille Artiga enters the story in a trouble of sorts – barely alive, left for dead. There's a whole story waiting to burst open. This woman may appear broken, but there is something deeper within her that is desperately seeking the light needed in her life and Jon Gallo may be that light. This is a strong character, even if it may not seem that way, but it is there.
Brandy Ayers has sucked me into her Blue Lines world, with its attractive men in uniform and their desire to service AND protect. Irresistible. Addictive. Sign me up for more!!
Intoxication by Brandy Ayers is book 3 in her Blue Line series. The books in this series are the perfect read, they are short and sweet and they have the right amount of sexy scenes. Each book follows a police officer from the Middleburg police station. We are introduced to officers in every book, which will leave you wanting to know their story too. The women in this series all have incredible stories to tell and with hot men on their arms you’ll definitely enjoy them.
Book 3 follows Chief Jon Gallo and Camille Artiga. Jon has served for most of his life and has never settled down. His career has always come first, then one day he meets Camille who manages to totally throw him off. He’s completely captured by her, the only problem being that he’s twice her age. Jon has been trying to find her since their first encounter with no luck. Then she shows up at the station in need of some serious help, to which Jon offers up. They try to keep their relationship platonic but as they get to know each other it becomes a much harder feat. Will they finally give in to temptation before their time runs out or will her past catch up with them ending it all?
I have really enjoyed this series and would highly recommend it. These stories can definitely be read as a standalone but I would suggest reading them in order so nothing is left out. I normally find that novellas don’t have enough of a storyline but that’s not the case with this series. These books have great storylines with real substance. At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about Jon and Camille due to the age gap but I quickly forgot about it as I continued to read it. They deserved the happiness they were able to share together. I look forward to reading Disturbing the Peace – Book 4 once released!
Intoxication Blue Line Book Three Written By Brandy Ayers 4 stars
Each book in this series is a stand alone, but I love that we get a little update on Sophie in this book. How could she not be mentioned...she's such a huge, meddling part in Jon’s life. Jon has always put his personal and police family before himself...he finally finds someone who he wants that to change for, but she is the last person he should make this accommodation for. She is young and allegedly tied to the biggest drug operation his town has tried to bring down.
“Jon quickly realized he had his own addiction, and he did nothing but feed it. Only his came in the form of a tiny, tough as nails woman, not pills or injections. He couldn’t get enough of her.”
Camille finds herself under the protection of the most unlikely person. Not only does she feel protected, but it stirs feelings in her that she's never felt. Camille knows it's not hero worship, because she is strong, has saved herself and has lived through horrific circumstances by someone she should have been able to trust above everyone.
“It dawned on her that this might be the first time someone had touched her without the intention of administering pain since she was a teenager. It felt good. Better than good. Essential.”
Camille feared once Jon knew how deep into the organization she truly was, he’d never want to see her again. Telling the story of how she had become involved in her brothers rising empire of drugs may be the end of any fantasy she has about being with Jon. How could the chief of police get involved with a known criminal? Would he see past her forced involvement and see the good in her? Will she be able to win him over and finally experience what's she's dreamed of since she first laid eyes on him?
Intoxication by Brandy Ayers is book three in the Blue Line series. I absolutely love this series and can’t wait until a new novel comes out in this series. I fell in love this series and the characters of the Blue Line series. The character that caught my attention was Chief Gallo and this book is all his. In the first few books she Brandy Ayers describes Chief Jon Gallo as a wonderful guy and father figure. I am happy that he finally found his happy ever after with his sweetheart Camille or Cami for short. This novel shows that age doesn’t matter and that true love can prevail no matter what the obstacles are for a person. For Jon, his was his age and how he spent half his life alone. Camille was forced to do things for her brother that she didn’t want to do and was in fear of her life. When she first saw Chief Jon Gallo, she was being arrested and then the second time was when she came crashing in the police department a month after she vanished. This is a story of how two people can fall in love no matter what and can and do find a way to make things work for them despite the circumstances that they are dealt. Brandy Ayers is a very talented author who can write a true love story with all the ups and downs that go with it. Not only will you fall in love with the characters, but the author as well. When you pick up a novel by Ayers you know that you will be getting a wonderful read that you would want to keep reading no matter that you finished it. Ayers has a true talent for writing romance stores but ones that are filled with suspense and a little intrigue as well. Any novel by Brandy Ayers is a recommend read to friends or family members that like to read romance novels.
A 5 star read for Intoxication, Blue Line Book Three, by Brandy Ayers. This is the 3rd book in the Blue Line Series, and also the 3rd book that I have read by this author. Finally we get Chief John Gallo’s story….
John Gallo has lived his life for one purpose and one purpose only…. the police force. He committed his life to the force, any of his previous relationships could never accept that the force came first in his life. Then one day, he saw her… he knew she was too young, not to mention, she was in his police station after being arrested. The first time he saw Camille Artiga, he knew that he wanted her in his life.
Camille Artiga’s life was good until her parents died. She went from college student on her way to becoming a doctor to being arrested due to her brothers criminal activities. After being put through hell by her brother and his associates, she makes it to the police station, barely, where she collapses.
When John sees the woman that he can't get out of his thoughts, in a bloody mess on the floor of his station, he knows that he will do whatever he has to do to protect her. Even if that means putting her first and his life with the force second. All he has to do is get over the age difference between them and everything would be perfect. Will Camille be able to show him that age is truly just a number and what they feel for each other is for real or will John keep his walls up and try to do the right thing?
I enjoyed this book immensely and I was so glad that John finally got his HEA, outside of the police force. It was also nice to see past characters make an appearance. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have!!
Intoxication is Book 3 in the Blue Line series by Brandy Ayers. I am consistently impressed with this author. Each story gets better and better, with more twists and crazy moments than ever. Continuously astounding me with each book release, I am becoming more and more addicted.
Brandy Ayers introduces us, in full, to Jon and Camille. We met them briefly in Possession. Camille suffers unimaginable horrors and Jon is there to protect her and put all the broken bits back together. The attraction is instant between them, but Jon worries that the age difference is too large to overcome. We learn of the incredible strength that Camille has, and her unwavering determination that she will not be beaten down any longer. She intends to live her life free from fear.
Despite there being a lot of dark, confronting content in Intoxication, there were also many delightfully light moments. The author maintained the balance perfectly. I felt that, despite the age difference, they connected beautifully as a couple. Camille had this vibrant innocence about her, while also seeming mature beyond her years. She brought out every single one of Jon’s protective instincts. He fell for her fast and hard. He was prepared to fight for her as there was no other for him. He needed her to complete him.
This series is incredibly addictive and Brandy Ayers just blew my mind with another sizzling short story. I never want these books to end, which is a true testament to this author’s talent. 5 stars for Intoxication. I am holding my breath in anticipation of the next release. I am excited to find out what is next. I am not sure what it will be, but I know it will be better than ever.
Intoxication by Brandy Ayers Stars: 4 This is the third book in the Blue Line series. This story follows Chief Jon Gallo. He has spent his life dedicated to his men and the police department. He has never had time for relationship and never really wanted them. When he sees Camille Artiga, he suddenly wants things that he never really wanted before her. However, she is half his age and a witness. Camille’s life is not going the way she had originally planned. She is unwillingly pulled in the world of drugs. She manages to escape and makes it to the Middleburg Police Department. She falls into the arms of Chief Gallo. He makes her feel safe and loved. However, Camille’s past is coming for her.
Camille is a strong heroine. She loves even though she has not had the best life. Though a damsel in distress, she is not reliant on men to fix her problems. She shows that she is a capable woman, who is smart and determined. Chief Gallo is hard working, dedicated, and loyal. He helps Camille become even stronger instead of just trying to fix everything for her. They complement each other well.
This story is a love at first sight story. Both Camille and Chief Gallo felt their connection to each other the moment they laid eyes on each other. This was a great addition to the Blue Line Series and I enjoyed this story. I also loved that this story gave us glimpses of the other characters in the two previous stories. This is a series that I enjoy reading and cannot wait for the next one!

Book Review: Intoxication (Blue Line book 3) Author: Brandy Ayers FIVE STARS Brandy Ayers is a writer of romantic erotica. Book 3 in the Blue Line series is Intoxication and just as the first two books it does not disappoint. There is nothing hotter in this world than a man in uniform and Brandy proves that with this series. Hot alpha male characters and the women they fall in love with. Intoxication is a mix of suspense and romance. Jon is 45 and the Chief of police and has had to step down for the time being as he has developed romantic intentions concerning a victim. Bound and determined to protect Camille at all costs, will Jon lose his job? Will he lose his life? Is protecting her going to cost him everything? Camille is only 22 and she is on the run from her brother, a drug lord. Can Jon keep her safe? Will her brother and his goons find her anyway? Will Jon ever look at her as more than a victim? Very quick read. Brandy Ayers pulls you in with every book and keeps you engrossed in her words down to the last page. These books can all be stand alones or read in sequence. You don't really miss much but some of the plot line might get a bit skewed if you read out of order. I was excited to see that Brandy Ayers does have a fourth book in the works, this is a series that I can read forever. Kelli Harper
Intoxication by Brandy Ayers is the third book in her hot cop Blue Line series! It is a romantic suspense story that blows your mind away with the level of heat in it! I think you can read it as a standalone but there is a story line that carries through the books and I think you would get so much more out if them if you read them in order! The story is about Chief Jon Gallo and Camille Artiga. The Chief was a secondary character in the first two books and by the end of the second one, after seeing how he was with his niece Sophie, I knew that his book would be a fantastic one and Brandy did not fail me! The Chief thinks he is old and his work is his life and the force and his niece Sophie are his family. He is drawn to Camille from the first moment he sees her in the passing but he thinks he does not deserve her BUT he will give his life to protect her! Camille is an old soul in a young body and whose life has been destroyed by the person who should be protecting and loving her. She has had to give up her dreams and is drowning in the dark world of drugs and crime. She is feeling safe and cherished first time in the longest time and it is in the presence of the Chief Gallo. I strongly suggest that you put couple of hours aside and hide yourself away with a glass of wine or a cup of hot chocolate and lose yourself in the action packed hot read!
Intoxication: Blue Line Book 3 By Brandy Ayers 5 Star Review
Intoxication: Blue Line Series: Book #3 by Brandy Ayers is another hot, sexy quick read. I loved it, even though it is a novella, it is another well written story by this author. I felt the characters were well developed and I truly liked them. It was really nice to have an “older” man as the alpha character.
Chief Jon Gallo has always put his community, his police force and those he care about first. He has never put himself first, so relationships had a tendency to be nonexistence. But, he sees Camilla Artiga and the attraction to her is intense and he knows it shouldn’t be.
Camilla Artiga is mixed up a family nightmare. She goes from attending school to become a doctor to having deal with her family business. She is somehow involved in the current drug ring that is affecting Chief Jon Gallo’s town.
Camilla stumbles into the police department after escaping and being left for dead. Chief Gallo feels very protective and is willing to step back and give up a lot to protect her. The growing danger in his town makes it impossible for them to stay there so he makes the choice to whisk her away.
I have loved every single one of the books in this series. This is just another well written story by this author.
Intoxication by Brandy Ayers is the third book in the Blue Line Series. This is a standalone book but in my opinion is better enjoyed if the rest of the series is read. The story is about Police Chief Jon Gallo and Camille Artiga. Chief Gallo has dedicated his life to serving and protecting Middleburg. Now he is combating an ever-growing drug ring that has made its way into his town. Upon meeting Camille Artiga, Gallo realizes his life is going to change. She has been pulled into a life of crime and drugs and forced to give up her dream of medical school. Gallo helps her when she is left for dead. Can the two overcome all the odds against them? I have enjoyed this series and certainly was happy to see a book about Chief Gallo. He is kind, compassionate but knows how to take care of business. He cares about his family, his officers, and the town he protects. Has he finally found his someone special? Camille is tough and innocent all at the same time. She has been used by those she has trusted and finds it hard to trust. Somehow she feels a security with Gallo that she hasn’t felt in a long time. This has a HEA but is well worth it. I always enjoy Ayers books and this one as well. She has great characters and good story lines. The books are fun to read and are a nice break away from some of the seriousness of the world. We all need more happy endings.
Intoxication is book 3 in the Blue line series by Brandy Ayers. In this book we read the story of Jon and Camille. This is a May December type story. Always putting his job before anything in his life Jon is thrown for a loop when he meets Camille. Jon is the police chief in his forties and had given up on having a family and kids. Camille is in her early twenties and is just beginning to experience life. She was stuck in a horrible situation that she couldn't see getting out of. Jon knew from the moment he laid eyes on Camille that she was "it" for him. He couldn't forget her. Camille was just trying to survive living with a psychotic brother. When she does show up at the police station needing help Jon has no problem to put his job on hold and help her anyway he can. Hiding out in a secluded cabin in the woods helps them get to know each other. Jon fights his attraction towards her because he feels he's too old for her. Camille is worried that the obvious attraction she sees in Jon is just him wanting to be a hero. When danger comes back around he will stop at nothing to keep her safe. Will Jon and Camille finally give in to the obvious attraction they feel towards each other? Can he keep her safe? I give this book a 5 star rating. I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.
I give Intoxication by Brandy Ayers four stars. This is book three of the Blue Line series, it says you can read them as standalone books but I wouldn't recommend it. The main story starts in book one and continues through out all four books. In the end of book two you will meet the main female in this book. This is the story of Chief Jon Gallo and Camille Artiga.
Camille was in school to become a doctor because it was what she had always dream of until someone one that she should have been able to depend on and trust forces her to give up her dreams. Now, because of this same person, Camille has somehow found herself pulled into the dark world of drugs and crime. After being beaten almost to death she manages to stumble into the Middleburg Police Station, and the arms of Chief Gallo.
Chief Gallo has a strong overwhelming need to protect Camille and refuses to leave her side even for a minute. Camille doesn't know much about the Chief but she knows he makes her feel safe, cherished which is something she hasn't felt in far too long.
Will the Chief give into his feelings and let himself finally fall for a woman or will he just do his job and protect Camille? You have to read to find out! I recommend this whole series!
The investigation into the drug epidemic plaguing Middleburg is heating up. No one is safe anymore, not even the Chief of Police.
0LOVED!!! This was a great book to read. It was a little different but man oh man was it good. This is the third book in the series and I have thoroughly enjoyed them all so far. Chief Jon Gallo is older than most of the men at the precinct. He has been around for a while and does everything by the book. He is good at his job and he is looked up to by his fellow employees. He has never let a woman come between him and his job because he is married to his job first. Camille Artiga is young and was going to college to become a doctor until she was forced to drop out a few years ago and has not been able to go back yet. Camille has been put into the middle of a drug and crime world that she is not happy about but all she can do is do what she can to survive each day. Camille finally gets away and decides the best place to go is the police station and has no idea that she will be treated like a queen by the Chief. He is always there for her and won’t leave her side and when she is near him she feels safe and protected and knows that nothing or no one will be able to get to her again. Loved this book and I loved how truly sweet and caring the Chief was. I look forward to more books by Brandy.
This short story by Brandy Ayers is the third in her Blue Line Series. Who doesn’t love an alpha, hunk of a man in uniform!?! Chief Jon Gallo has been a minor character in the first two books but now he gets his own turn! Other characters, from book one, Reckless Conduct and book two, Possession, are referenced in this story but each story really is a standalone. Ayers’ writing style makes each story easy to read and follow without having to read every book in the series. But after reading one you really want to read everything written by her…at least I do!!
Chief Jon Gallo is an “older” man, 45…far from old. However, while he works with much younger officers he feels older than he is. When his eyes land on a young girl leaving his police station he is enchanted, spell bound, even bewitched. Never has he felt this type of feeling just by looking at someone. Camille is a young woman trapped in a drug and crime ring with no way out. Until she meets Jon. These two will stop at nothing to be together, but then neither does the drug lord chasing Camille.
Great adventure, great characters that are easy to love all around great story. Already looking to read more from Brandy Ayers!
Intoxication is the third book in the Blue Line series and thankfully not the last. This book has some hot moments, but there is the case they are working on that adds the suspense to it. There were some moments it was all I could do not the sit there with my mouth hanging open.
Jon Gallo and police chief has been obsessed with the drug ring that has invaded his small town. He wants them gone and his town safe, but there is more than that. Camille Artiga caught his eye when she was brought in for questioning and he hasn’t been able to forget her since the moment he saw her a month earlier. He has been concerned about her since she hasn’t been seen since that day and she didn’t show up for court date. Imagine his surprise when she shows up at the police station.
Camille Artiga has had a lot of ups and downs in her life. She was in college studying pre-med when she suddenly decides to drop out and work in the pharmacy and is now stuck in a situation and isn’t sure how to get out.
This series has me waiting for the next almost as soon as I have finished the current book. I cannot wait to read the next one.
Intoxication is the third book in the Blue Line Series by Brandy Ayers. I think the books in this series keep getting better and better. This romance is full of suspense and mystery. Ms. Ayers really brings her characters to life. The witty banter and the emotional roller coaster had me hooked from the first page to the last.
Chief Jon Gallo is a strong steady man who has devoted his life to the Middleburg police force and his men. He always figured a relationship was not in his future. He was content in life until an unexpected meeting, and an unknown woman that had his heart racing and unable to get her out of his mind.
Camille Artiga was forced into a life she never wanted. She knew she needed to get out from under the fist of her older brother. Left for dead, she managed to escape and found her way to the police station.
Jon couldn't believe the woman he has been searching for since their chance encounter ended up near death in the lobby of the police station. What ensues is a terrific roller coaster of mystery, suspense and hot romance. I loved this story. I can't wait to see what is coming next from Ms. Ayers!
