In the compelling third book of the Goode-Grace Mysteries, Deputy Bobby Grace is just days away from his wedding to Goth-chick farmer, Trinity Goode. But dark reminders of the young girl Bobby failed to save more than a decade ago threaten their happiness. When another girl goes missing, it starts to look as if a predator has struck again, from beyond the grave. Bobby and Trinity race against the clock to unravel the mystery before another innocent life is lost.

She lives in Ohio with her husband, her cats, and the cast of characters in her head.
In the same vein as the previous 2 books in this series, this book sucked me in and wouldn't let me go. I read it almost in its entirety in one day because I couldn't put it down. The mystery plot was edgier and more captivating than the last two, which I didn't know was possible.
I'm so in love with Trinity and Bobby and all their friends. To spend another adventure with them brought some familiarity and a comfort I can only describe as coming home again. I LOVED that I got more Kirby and Nola Rae in this book, even if it wasn't always under the best of circumstances. I was LIVING for Kirby at Bobby's bachelor party.
This book was comforting and disturbing, it was as delicious and warm as you want a Goode-Grace mystery to be, it pulled the light out of a dark situation. It was beautiful, well thought out, gripping, and sometimes laugh out loud funny. It left me crying tears of joy for our heroes.
At the end of the day I'm grateful for books like this and I'm grateful to the author for writing them.
Trinity Grace and Deputy Bobby Goode are about to be married when he is asked by the woman that he saved as a fifteen year old from a sadist, rapist kidnapper to attend the man's execution. Hipsher, the prisoner, refuses to say anything to apologize for his crimes but at the last moment says that his work is not over; he has followers to carry on his work.
Bobby is almost convinced that Hipsher was just taking one last poke at his victim and the police when he is called by one of his friends calls and tells him that his daughter has been abducted. The entire town gets involved to try and find the missing girl.
This book was much more intense than the other two. I was happy with the ending. I like the relationship between Bobby and Trinity. I thought that the wedding and reception should have received more attention in the book.
The characters in these books are definitely memorable,--even the hateful ol' gossip! The artistry, the methodical procedural police work, the contrasts between rural and the more cosmopolitan, the extremes in family relationships--all of these things make the characters seem as realistic as if we can know the folks personally. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
Book 3 in the series will absolutely grab at your heart. While the big wedding day is fast approaching Bobby gets involved with a kidnapping victum that he rescued years before. He agrees to go with her to witness the execution of her tormentor. An emotional outburst by the prisoner leads Bobby to believe that there might be an accomplice. Bobby never ignores his gut. Breath holding finish.
This series is truly special for the dignity and respect the characters show in their dialogues. I am so thankful to have accidentally found Cyn Mackley these first three books. Love the wit and tenderness.
This is a beautiful love story with some bad things happening. Cruel people are everywhere and you just have to stand up to them. Bobby and Trinity knew that they belong to each other. I want to read more. Perhaps about their first child?
This book continues the story of Bobby and Trinity. You get a closer look at the Wainwrights as the kidnapping of their daughter takes place. Once again Cyn Mackley gives the reader an interesting plot and a happy ending.
I have been waiting for Bobby and Trinity to get married for what feels like years!! Great story and detailed writing made me feel like I was there. Can’t wait for the next one!
Must, must read if you enjoy light romance and mystery together.
This was the third book of the series. I read all.....after the first, I had to keep reading. Well written, suspense, good characters... Just totally enjoyable.
Great read. Suggest you start with book 1 and read the books in order. This is a stand alone book but you get more out of the book if you read them in order. 4 stars
