3.5 "Kinda Hot For Teacher" stars!!

I've read several student-teacher romances but none quite like this one. In ILLICIT, Ava Harrison introduces us to Carson and Lynn, both of whom were broken and alone. On a beautiful night, these two strangers found each other and found a connection that transcended time and space. Or maybe I'm being influenced by all of their talk about stars and astronomy. They share a night of untold passion and go their separate ways. That is until Monday, which is the start of school and Carson is Lynn's history teacher.

But wait, it's okay! Carson's really not a perv because Lynn is actually almost 19 years old. Phew! I have no idea how old he was (I don't remember it being mentioned), but he just finished college so I'm going to say around 22. Anyhoo, this didn't turn into the sex-filled story I was expecting. The author instead focused on the characters' feelings and injected drama and unexpected revelations to shake things up. This plot centered around pain, abandonment, lies, deceit, betrayals, and was full of so much heart. That's not to say that sex wasn't a factor here, because it was, but it wasn't descriptive or as exciting or as essential as the rest of the plot.

Honestly, I did suffer a huge disconnect with this story. I really enjoyed the beginning, but somewhere in the middle I lost the plot. The end was sort of okay for me and I think that was in large part due to the loose ends that were left dangling. I'm not a big fan of wrapping things up in a neat bow just to end the story without getting any subtext. Although ILLICIT wasn't a clear winner for me, I did appreciate the author's writing and I'll definitely be giving her work another shot.

Disclaimer: the author is a good friend of mine.

This is a layered, complex, thought-provoking piece of art that I've had the pleasure of beta-reading. Well-written and knots-in-your-stomach angsty. This is not a feel good book. This is a FEEL book, period. You'll get all the feels. Try it.

2.5 Stars

After catching her boyfriend cheating at a party, eighteen year old Gwendolyn “Lynn” Adams finds comfort in the company of a guy she meets on the beach where they share a look at the stars, a dip in the ocean, and a fling on the sand.

“He is an Adonis among men, like all the myths and tales he likes to weave.”

Turns out, he’s also her new prep school history teacher. And Carson Blake is kind of alluring till some unappealing OW drama gets inserted. Ugg! This is the ultimate mood killer in a romance, and honestly it served no purpose here other than to diminish what Lynn and Carson had going and to infuse unnecessary angst into a story that was soon to indulge in it to the hilt.

Told via their dual first person POV, I think the initial bones to the story have a lot of promise. I never read the previous novella version so I can’t compare the two, but I can’t help but feel as if this reads more like a working draft of a fleshed out version than a polished final product. To be sure, the plot relies way too much on angst and melodrama and not enough on romance. It falls prey to the typical ‘we can’t be together’ pitfalls that drag down some taboo romances while at the same time relies on avoidable misunderstandings that could be remedied with some basic communication. Add in a ton of family angst and some OM drama too and the whole thing just became too much. The story became too sensational and the writing suffered as a result. More time spent on developing certain scenes between Lynn and Carson as well as revising their early awkward or stilted dialogue would have been time better spent than lining up a slew of tumultuous obstacles.

I do give the story points for stressing the importance of seeking professional help. So often these type of angsty coming-of-age new adult reads never even give it a mention. But it plays an important and needed role here to the benefit of the characters.

Bottom line, neither Lynn nor Carson wowed me. Lynn’s a bit immature, though perhaps not unrealistic for her age. Carson had potential to be a more endearing romantic hero, but I couldn’t get past the OW drama to fall in love with him, even after Carson pulls his head out of his ass and sets it on his neck straight. Essentially, if you enjoy a lot of angst and melodrama, this might be the one for you. But if you are looking for a cute and sexy, swoonworthy forbidden romance, keep browsing. There’s nothing special or smoking hot about this teacher-student love affair.

2* unpopular, spoiler & bratty STARS!

It was my first read from Ava Harrison and feels horrible. Everything didn't meet my expectations about this book. The cover was drool worthy. The theme is absolutely one of my fave (Teacher/student). But the main characters really sucks. The story and plot... went straight to hell.

description

⇒ Lynn (18) just dump her cheated boyfriend when she walk out him with another girl. She feels empty. Alone in the beach and away from the party. Lynn met this gorgeous smart guy who is also avoided the party. They talk about astronomy, stars and everything' beautiful. She's insta-lust with him. Then, sex happened. (It supposed to be one night, right?)

⇒ Carson (mid 20s, I think) is in shock when he saw her in the classroom. His first day as a history teacher and Lynn is his student? What a joke! Carson always warn her about not to get to 'close' with him but he couldn't deny the attraction between them. Lynn feels the same. They're (literally) became horny teenager with cat and mouse game.

⇒ I couldn't like both of them. It is really hard. They're overly sweet talks. And the worst is, they happened to have on-off relationship. Sex-denial-sex-denial and so on. When Carson left Lynn because he's afraid of getting caught, she became a brat. Like everything has to revolved around her. Well, it's understandable since Lynn has no father and her mother didn't care about her. Lynn is too dependable to Carson until he dumped her. And BOOM!

description

⇒ Also I didn't like Lynn's best friend. She's no nosy and egoist. Ugh so much teenage hormones that didn't suit my taste. Then, there is OW and Carson (almost) get involved with her. It's his excuse to forget Lynn. Typical guy *rolleyes*. Suddenly he realize that Lynn is everything. What a revelation. *Pft!*

description

⇒ The drama only just begun. After they back again, another shit hit the fan. Multiple times. It's more personal. About Lynn's mother, Carson's dark past and jealous ex. And that makes the pages became too long and so boring. I skipped a lot because blah.. blah..

Overall: There is so much issues in this book that didn't work for me. Maybe my whole life didn't excited as Lynn is. The ending was a bit rushed and they're still fuck like rabbits. I also couldn't connect with the writing. Too flowery/poetical. This book is really close to reality show than romance itself.

Wow.

Just. Wow.

Like. WHOA.

This book. Ah, man. Seriously.

SO much happened and so much was necessary for them to go through and so much this and that. I loved the drama. I loved the angst. I loved the secrets, the denials. The scandals.

But mostly, I loved Lynn and Carson. I loved their LOVE and passion for each other. I loved their connection, which was TANGIBLE, people!! I adored how they were able to go through so much and still come out on top.

This has been one of the better books I've read this year. Simply amazing.

The teacher-student romance is one of my favorite tropes so I was excited to read it. Unfortunately, I don't like it so far, it's developing slowly and the story can't hold my interest. I don't want to spend my limited free time on a book I'm not enjoying

FULL REVIEW NOW POSTED

The forbidden romance between a student and teacher is one of my least favorite romance sub-genres. But the reviews suggested this new-to-me-author's formula was different and included far deeper personal matters than just the usual underage taboo sex-filled hookups. I took a chance and I’m glad I did – even though it will never be a favorite.

I've stopped wishing for extraordinary. I've stopped wishing for that one moment so profound it will change everything. I know it will never happen, so there's no point in dreaming. But like all things in life, extraordinary happens, when you least expect it, and in the blink of an eye, everything can change.

Plagued in their daily lives by abandonment issues, Carson Blake and Lynn Adams are both flawed and broken individuals.

Lynn, feeling rejected and unloved by her boyfriend, seeks solace on the beach away from a last hurrah of summer party. There she meets a gorgeous stranger. There's a magnetic attraction between them immediately. They share a little star gazing that ends in a night of passion. Early the next morning, while Blake sleeps, Lynn sees their hookup for what it is, and sneaks out putting it behind her. But come Monday morning, when the sound of the school bell rings welcoming students back for the start of Lynn's senior year, SURPRISE-SURPRISE -- the beach hookup is her first hour history teacher - Mr. Blake.

From there begins a complex and heart-wrenching entanglement that puts everything on the line. I was relieved early on when it was revealed to my satisfaction that both student and teacher were of age. No legal boundaries overstepped. But school rules and regs, moral values and reputations are not so easily thrown aside. And there’s also a new career and college applications on the chopping block as well. Both student and teacher are aware of the rules they are breaking, but as hard as they try to heed them, powerful feelings of attachment might just win out. For Carlson, he puts up walls and tries to divert himself from being alone with Lynn. But sometimes ignoring the situation is far too great -- especially when each day begins facing your greatest temptation eye-to-eye.

Lynn is younger and a bit of a tease, too. She often confronts her teacher with enticements that are simply too much to resist. When she overhears a female teacher with a speculative eye on Carson, inviting him to join her for a drink, jealousy raises its ugly head, and the situation becomes even riskier. Lynn doesn't handle the event well and chaos ensues -- perhaps this, too, can be attributed to her immaturity.

Lynn's life is filled with family drama and devastating secrets, and at one point causes Lynn to be self-destructive. Her mother and father are divorced. Mom is completely unavailable and unbelievably disgusting and selfish. Dad keeps his distance, too. His reasoning has some basis that you'll find out when the time is right. Carson is fresh out of college and starting his first teaching job. He's had his own version of harsh reality growing up, too. He's dedicated, smart and witty -- but a dark shadow of anger and bitterness stemming from his past has left him with anger management issues.

My attention was captured from the beginning by well-developed characterization, along with how well the story moved forward. The profound range of emotions dealt with is mindboggling. Dealing with the number of topics surrounding family issues and friendship, can sometimes feel insurmountable. There was never any doubt in my mind that these two shared a deep commitment and an intense desire for each other though.

The book started off on a great run, then became a little slow, and finally ended on a rushed effect. I had issues with a few minor incidents, as well as a couple of unresolved questions that should have been answered, but my interest never wavered. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, heartache and all! Because of the nature of the beast, adding a glimpse of Carson and Lynn five years or so down the road might give their story a more solid ending. On the whole, it's well-written, and one I think fans of drama and angst filled teacher/student romances would find a step above most.

***ARC READ***

I loved this novella as a part of the Hot for Teachers Anthology and I love that it got its own full length release. There were still parts of the novella in this and while the end is completely different, I felt like this book dragged out towards the end, it progressed really slow for me and I struggled to make a connection with the characters and the emotions throughout the book. While this book had amazing potential and I loved the storyline and the characters, I felt like there was something missing.

Okay so one of my FAVE book tropes has to be student/teacher books. Why? Well because they are so forbidden and filled with angst and tension and just ALL THE FEELS. IF, they are done correctly. Illicit by Ava Harrison was done PERFECTLY!

Ava initially swept me off my feet with the simmering connection and downright swoon worthy first meeting between Lynn and Carson. Then Ava pulled me deep into her words and her story. ILLICIT got under my skin and burned trails of heat and intensity through my veins.

Lynn & Carson’s relationship is a rollercoaster of highs and lows.. as I rode this emotional rollercoaster I felt every bump, every dip and twist. I rode out every slow rise to the top with breath held and my heart in my throat. I crashed down to the very lows with a broken heart and tears in my eyes. And when I reached the end, all I wanted to do was go back to the start and ride again.

4.5 brilliant, breathtaking stars.

Really good book I've not read a teacher and pupil book in ages so I really enjoyed this. I've only started reading this author this year but her books and characters are becoming my favourite. I luv her writing I get sucked into the book from start to finish. I was looking forward to getting to know Lynn and Carson after getting to know them and a bit of there story through Bridget and Olivia's books. Lynn is a great character and so is Carson there story is easy and there lives aren't either but they bring out the good in each other.

Mehhh

This story had good ingredients for an angsty sexy story, too bad I felt none of it. I don't know how to explain it ... but everything felt so cliche and ... dry. For example, the tropes used I don't mind when used well. For example, he ends things so he won't hold her back. Thing is, I felt so cold at his break up. I felt everything that happened in this story was a trope after trope. It was superficial and I did NOT feel their passion. While yes, they were talking about how connected they are, there were no interactions between the MCs that showed me their deep connections. It starts off with ONS then trope for angst following the next and the next. So I never fell for their love at all. I had no butterflies. I felt more connected to Lynn and her insecurities and her family issues and as a character more than Carson. He was just so one dimensional! Everything he said and did I felt was so cliche. It's like okay, the tropes add good angst but too bad I didn't feel anything in this book. I need more than a gorgeous perfect specimen of a male to make me fall for the H.

There was no relationship development, no character development with Carson I felt.

I was also annoyed that Lynn didn't give him a harder time about Lauren. She did see him kissing her and knows he went out with her. Yes, I would've forgiven him, but when he went to hers after the date ... for once I wanted an h to be like "no way in hell youre staying with me after being with another woman all night".

Now I understand 100% completely that he felt nothing for Lauren, but actions are still enough for me.

Anyways, the way I can explain why I didn't love this book is simply I felt nothing. The storyline has interesting tropes, but they're not multi layered or strong or used well. Instead they're chucked in there for the sake of adding angst. And there's a huge difference between tropes being used in a smart, multi-layered, deep way where you can feel the pain of the characters, where you can understand the actions and relate to them, and angst which is present in many YA/NA books where I feel tropes are used without being fleshed out. It felt superficial to me.

I think the fact that it went from ONS to the drama ... we had NO interactions or time to actually feel the connection between the MCs. We were just expected to believe they were connected. Then after the ONS there's angst cause he's a teacher (of course) but then again, there's no fall into the relationship. I never felt anything. The author never gave us the time to fall for them together. To feel their connections and fall for their love.

For example: at one point after they're together, Carson texts her "are you okay?" She says yes (she's going through a hard time). Then he says if she needs him, he'll make it happen , and she thinks " I know Carson, and if I really need him he will move heaven, earth and all the stars in the sky to make it happen".

Super beautiful right? Too bad my reaction was 'really though?' From what I've read so far ... yeah he's a good boyfriend he'll probz find a way to see her later at night when he can ... but I don't think what they have is so crazy to describe it like that ^ everything I've read so far would not warrant words like that ^ which is essentially where the problems lies. I didn't feel for their relationship

That being said, I did enjoy the story somewhat and I did read it. It's not long but I think the reason I did finish it is because of that. I felt for Lynn for her parents and her journey. I liked the story, but that's it, it was averagely good but not great. After they're officially together I felt more, it was a lot cuter. For the first time I saw interactions that made me feel, but too bad the first 60% or so I didn't feel much.

4 angsty teacher student romance stars!

This story starts off with Lynn catching her douchey ex boyfriend cheating on her at a party. This then leads to her having an unforgettable night with a perfect stranger named Carson. Their night is one for the books, Carson is totally swoony, but she knows one night is all it will ever be. So she sneaks off before he wakes up, assuming she will never see him again. You know what happens when you assume, right? School starts and low and behold who is in Lynn's first period class? CARSON! But wait, he's THE TEACHER!!! What are the odds?

Nothing about the rollercoaster romance that these two go on is simple. Not at all. There are hills, loopty loops, and sharp turns. Their ride even gets stuck a couple of times, but no matter how wild the ride... you can tell these two are meant for each other. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll be pretty vague. What I will say is yes this is taboo, but all the characters are of age. What I enjoyed is even though each of these characters were extremely flawed, they all seemed to grow at least a bit by the end. I liked that everything wasn't peachy by the end, some things were like real life. The naughty bits were pretty hot, I have one that is probably my favorite and it is a stand out IMO.

If you like angst filled student teacher romances, then this is the book for you. Ava Harrison does an amazing job writing two characters who want to be together so badly, but can't... and all the angst that comes along with that scenario. Such a good read!

This book started off so strong and unfortunately by the middle, I was bored more than anything.

It was written really well and I loved the dual perspective. I also love the forbidden romance thing especially when it is a student/teacher thing. The second he mentions that teaching wasn't his passion, I already had the book pegged and guessed every single thing that was going to happen.

Their initial meeting was super romantic and I felt the connection between H and h. I never felt that again.

I could go on and on with the things I wished would have happened but I feel like it would be lengthy.

I will give Ava another shot. I really did enjoy her writing, this one was just a miss for me.

5 OUR FUTURE IS INFINITE STARS!!!

Get ready to be schooled by Mr. Blake. Oh hell yes. I loved Lynn and Carson's story! It was the perfect forbidden romance and I couldn't put it down!

Mr. Blake makes me want to stay for detention! RAWR! He's kind, caring and authoritative when he needs to be. Super broody. Super protective. Super HOT. He made me crazy. In a good way. Seriously I felt like a horny teenager reading this book.

I am a well known cover whore and let me tell you, when my eyes came upon this deliciousness, I. HAD. TO. HAVE. IT. It was LUST at first sight. Now. It's one thing to LUST a cover, but to read the story and fall hard for it, even better! And I truly loved this book.

The forbidden aspect of this story kept me on the edge of my desk. Bent over it. Oh. Yes. That is where I spent my time with Mr. Blake, in my dreams of course. No complaints here. These two broken souls brought together by destiny had my heart doing all of the things. ALL. OF. THEM. The stolen moments, the slight touches. Oh jesus. Yes. The push and pull. Ah! I adored Lynn and Carson so much. Their chemistry was off the charts. The angst wasn't over done for the sake of drama, yet I found myself a hot mess over it! Fack. It was perfect. But in the end everything worked out how it should. THANK CHRIST!

This is the first book I've read from Ava Harrison, and I can guarantee you it will not be the last. If you are wanting a forbidden hot for teacher romance that will give you all the tingles (everywhere) and all the feely feels, then you need to one click ILLICIT!

My very first read from Ava Harrison and she not only blew me away with ILLICIT, she has created a true fan, and addict if you will, in me. She had me hook, line, and sinker with this blurb and the forbidden storyline. There was no turning back once I dove in. Lynn and Carson's sensual forbidden journey had my skin tingling and my heart racing ever step of the way. A sexy, angsty tale of two lost souls finding solace in each other's arms. Beautiful, Illicit, passionate, and emotional, Harrison's latest romance took me to the edge and back and put my heart through the ringer.

"Are we written in the stars?"

"In the stars and beyond, to whatever is past infinity."

Taboo, forbidden, banned...no matter what word you put to it, it won't change the fact that behind the unthinkable, there is a beautiful and heart wrenching love story behind it. A love story that will wash away the ugly, and bring forth the light and the tenderness. Don't run away from this book because you see the word forbidden. I urge you to take a chance on Lynn and Carson's story. If you are worried about the age thing, don't be. That's not the issue. It's strictly a student/teacher thing.

The lines are so easy to cross when the love is so powerful. That is exactly what happens here. Lynn and Carson's journey was hard-fought, angsty, and just beautiful. Every step of the way, I cheered these two on. I laughed, cried, and swooned through every turn of the page. I absolutely ADORED their story and I just know YOU will too!

I have to admit, if you want a hot teacher/student novel, then Illicit by Ava Harrison isn't that sort of reading. I had gone into this book thinking more along the lines of a hot sizzling Taboo teacher/student relationship but got a book that was more along the lines of the level that we read in the Slammed series by Colleen Hoover or the Ezria relationship from Pretty Little Liars. The book starts with the main female lead discovering her college boyfriend in a compromising position with another girl. Lynn rushes to the beach to get some fresh air and away from the whispers. It is while sitting on the beach; she meets Carson - he has just finished college and hanging out at the party with some of his school buddies. The pair hit it off and spend an amazing night together with the impression that they will never see one another ever again. Come Monday though, Lynn is back to High school, and her new teacher happens to be none other than Carson. The pair has this on/off I can't, but I must type relationship as of course it is illegal for Carson to date one of his students even if she is legal and considered an adult as she is 18. Of course, readers can imagine all the obstacles that will come up in the book from nosy teachers, worrisome parents, and friends. If you want a New Adult Teacher/Student romance with a sweeter than sizzling storyline, then check out Ava Harrison's new title "Illicit."

Forbidden romance can be a lot of fun when it is done right, and this one was. Lynn is a high school student, Carson is her teacher. They have one night, they don't exchange info, and then he shows up in her life again...as her history teacher.

This is the 2nd book I have read about Ava Harrison, and the idea of the taboo, the forbidden, is definitely a theme.

Lynn and Carson are both really young. Usually, this bothers me, the idea that she is 18 and he is 22. But, you forget this quickly. And, I am glad about that as I am not always the biggest fan of books with really young characters. If this is a concern for you, there is nothing to be worried about.

The chemistry is wonderful, the pull for them to be together, the attraction, is hot and you can feel it coming off the pages of your Kindle. The pacing is strong, and you don't get bogged down in the push and pull, rather it is allowed to flow smoothly and seamlessly.

I didn't like some of the extras with her mom. I think the book would have been better without it, with more of a focus on the main characters. It wasn't bad, and the other characters didn't necessarily pull me out of the story, but especially at the end when there were a lot of changes and revelations, I would have liked it to be little more about the central characters.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, and I do recommend it.

Ava Harrison has done it again- blown me away with the elegantly complex and emotionally forbidden storyline. This is a tale of two lost souls who found their way in each other’s arms in this angsty , forbidden student/teacher story.
Gwendolyn “Lynn” Adams has just found out her boyfriend has been cheating on her and she goes and sits on a beach to find some solace from her pain. While there she meets this dark and handsome guy she meets while on the beach. His name is Carson and it was one night that Lynn will remember forever..they had a night that was so beautiful and swoon worthy. Star gazing and a fling in the sand. Only Lynn left Carson asleep on the sand and ran away, never thinking she would see her handsome hunk again…oh but she does, as Lynn's first period TEACHER!!!

Oh the words to describe this story…Taboo, Forbidden, Illicit..but it wont matter what words I put to this story, it is so hot and so complex and so emotional and filled with so many ups and downs, twists and turns. A love story that is to take away the ugly and fill it with all the good life has to offer. Its about two lost souls who were about to give up when they had a chance meeting and ended up finding their reasons for living…each other. Lynn and Carson's journey was hard-fought, hard-won, angsty, and so perfect. I cried, I laughed, I yelled at my kindled..I adored Carson and how he was there for Lynn and I wanted to hug Lynn and cherish everything good she did for Carson. This is such a beautiful story . If I had to say one thing that could have been improved if I had to nitpick, then I wish the epilogue showed the MC 2-4 years down the line and how the lives were then. I do hope the author writes Lynn’s BF book for I would like to see her story after everything that has been written in this book and see if her life is impacted since this book has been written.. other than that, I loved it and I know you will adore it too!!

My rating: 4.8 stars ****

Ava Harrison takes a twist on the student/teacher romance with her story Illicit, which captures the taboo love affair of Lynne and Carson. Now if you’re new to Harrison’s writing you should know that she isn’t a fluffy and cutesy romance kind of girl. There is this shadow of melancholy surrounding her books and as a reader, I really can’t get enough. For me, it makes the journey to a HEA that much better when the path to get there is a struggle.

With the start of school just days away, Lynne finds herself at the last summer bash and stumbles in on her boyfriend cheating – leaving her to escape and get lost on a beach just watching the waves rolling in. As Carson escapes the party, a last sort of hurrah before he transitions from man-boy to full-fledged adult, he spots the silhouette of woman on the beach and decides that he and his bottle should join her. But imagine their surprise a few days later when they are face to face in the classroom. That shared night under the stars a not so distant memory that isn’t that easy to shake.

I think what I loved the most about this book is that it’s not about the taboo relationship and sex. Ava Harrison writes with depth and I think I really had an advantage going into this book, knowing that it was not going to be a typical trip to trope town.

There is a revolving door of drama that unfolds for these two as the story goes on, but not of it felt over the top or overdone. The story also hit some emotional notes that I think were mostly because the way the author structures her writing.

Illicit is all about the forbidden romance, but know going in that you’re not going to get a seedy-angst romance when you dive in. And that cover. Gorgeous.

Ok... once I started to read this book I started to recognize it right away. It was so familiar to me. As I read on... I knew that I had definitely read this book before.

When I signed up for this book I had no idea it was part of the Hot For Teachers Anthology. I was on that blog tour. Or maybe I did and forgot. So I went back to my notes right away to refresh my memory on why I didn't review this book with the others in the anthology.

Well... right away my issues for this book popped up. And I started to remember. The whole prep school atmosphere didn't do it for me. The parties. Carson's hot and cold act got to me. And some of their reckless behavior at school was kind of a turn off. Like grabbing Lynn in the hallway and kissing her. Where anyone could see.

Then we have Lynn. She was super immature.
I loved the beginning of the book. But that's pretty much it. I'm a sucker for teacher/ student books. But this book just didn't do it for me.

There are authors out there that as soon as they release a book, you stop everything. Everything. Ava Harrison is one of those authors. I didn’t even know she had a book coming out and as soon as I saw the release blitz for “Illicit,” I rearranged my schedule. She did not disappoint. Ms. Harrison’s take on the student-teacher romance is without a doubt, amazing. This forbidden romance was filled with angst and so many highs and lows. There were times when I felt an ache in my belly. This was more than a story about a student and a teacher falling in love. It is about family, friendship, forgiveness and true to being who you are. I love Ms. Harrison’s way with words and “Illicit” was a great reason to spend my Sunday with my kindle.

Dün TBR yaparken şunlar yazmışım:
Bögggh! aşırı klişe
Ama neden olmasın asjdhdhf
But he’s not a stranger.
He’s my history teacher.

İlk cümlemi olduğu gibi tekrar ediyorum;

Bögggh! aşırı klişe

Ama ikinci cümlemin arkasında değilim; olmamış. Atlata zıplaya okumam bile zaman kaybıydı.

Okay, I hate to do this but it's 2.5 stars for me. Gah, I hate this feeling. I want to take that rating back but I can't. Here's how I felt throughout the book in gifs:

But when I learned that Carson was fresh out of college; 22 years old, I hit a wall and it was really hard to push past it. I'm sorry but I LOVE student/teacher romances and I NEED the teacher to be in their 30's for this to feel forbidden! *hides*

I kept going though because age is just a number...

Damn all the extra drama didn't help either.

Man, I really tried to love this one! I knew beforehand that the immaturity between the characters was a big one here but I pushed through it because THIS IS MY FAVORITE TROPE!!

I loved the writing in the beginning of this book. And I have all the other books by this author so I'll still give those a chance. But I wasn't a big fan of Illicit. Hopefully the next one is a hit!
