From bestselling author, Heather Hiestand, comes a stand-alone prequel to her Charisma series
Blond, bubbly, and single-minded Kasee Kean is a reality TV star, holding onto her celebrity status by the tips of her manicured fingers. Dion Hamilton is a professional photographer in search of a subject. When the two meet outside of Pat’s Irish Pub one sultry spring night, sparks fly and careers are re-ignited.
Losing her mind on camera during her divorce cost Kasee her featured spot on the Ladies of Baltimore television show, but she has a plan to regain her post. A romance manufactured for the tabloids will put her back on top. But what happens when she wants her made-for-television romance with sexy Dion to be real?
Dion isn’t sure what kind of person Kasee is underneath her perfect exterior, and all parts of his life aren’t camera-ready. Still, he can see her vulnerability, and she does have a way of punching excitement into his life. Is this a relationship he should keep turning into cash, or is there a chance she’s the one?
Heather Hiestand was born in Illinois, but her family migrated west before she started school. Since then she has claimed Washington State as home, except for a few years in California. She wrote her first story at age seven and went on to major in creative writing at the University of Washington. Her first published fiction was a mystery short story, but since then it has been all about the many flavors of romance. Heather’s first published romance short story was set in the Victorian period and she continues to return, fascinated by the rapid changes of the nineteenth century. The author of many novels, novellas, and short stories, she is a bestseller at both Amazon and Barnes and Noble. With her husband and son, she makes her home in a small town and supposedly works out of her tiny office, though she mostly writes in her easy chair in the living room. She also writes as Anh Leod.

Throw one paparazzi and one desperate ex housewife together and you get this interesting tale.
This is a fun story, with characters that are so complexed that I'm not sure the novella length allowed them to really shine. I loved what was written and wanted to go further with the characters as there was so many levels there. I will totally be reading more by Heather if this is the type of characters she creates.
Sorry for my 2star rating, but in my opinion this story felt "cheap". Both protagonists deserved each other, because they were willing to sell their life for money.
Wild Image by Heather Hiestand ties her Charisma series to Mari Carr's Wild Irish universe. The heroine, Kasee Kean, is in word, desperate. A reality TV star barely clinging to her celebrity status, she knows she needs to make her own opportunities to get back on the up-escalator. The hero, Dion Hamilton, photographs celebrities for a living. While he has no fondness for those he captures on film, it pays his bills, and he has more of those than he'd care to reveal to the public.
When they meet outside Pat's Pub, Kasee sees the handsome Dion and proposes that they join forces, at least for the public, to help her reclaim a leading role on the Ladies of Baltimore television show. Dion really prefers being behind the camera, but agrees when Kasee agrees to reimburse him for his time. Time spent together gives them peeks beneath the sparkling exteriors they present for public consumption, and their intense physical chemistry is nearly impossible for them to resist.
This the first I've read of Ms. Hiestand's writing--her characters are complex and not easily set aside. Wild Image is not a lightweight story, despite the novella length. While I had a hard time personally relating to Kasee, that doesn't lessen the impact her story leaves.
Wild Image is a contemporary romance novel that is a standalone prequel to Charisma series. Kasey Kean is a reality TV star on Ladies of Baltimore television show. Dion Hamilton is a professional photographer (Paparazzi). The story begins with a interesting hook. The friendly banter between Kasey & Dion is so funny. Kasey's character is witty, stubborn & won't accept no for an answer. Dion character is strong, kind, & confident. Supporting characters add a appealing touch. I am looking forward to reading the Charisma series. I volunteerly reviewed an advanced reading copy of this novel.
