The Secret of the Sands Trilogy is an archaeology adventure series that combines alternate historical fiction & speculative sci-fi to explore ancient Egyptian history & the mysterious Great Sphinx of Giza in a time before the Pharaohs. The novel has a double storyline where the past & present intertwine, as each sheds more light on the other...Secret of the Sands is a little bit like mixing INDIANA JONES + THE MUMMY + NATIONAL TREASURE & is suitable for young adult to adult readers :)

As King Mesah lies dying in 10,000 BC, Zazmaria confronts him, demanding to know the details of the great secret project he’s been working on. Her desperation knows no bounds. If the king doesn’t quickly tell her what he knows, Mesah may carry the knowledge to his grave! The furious Zazmaria is forced to leave, returning to her chambers in a fit of anger.
Upon the Pharaoh’s death, Prince Traeus, Mesah’s eldest son, assumes the throne of the land called Egypt. His brother, Prince Alaj, is beguiled by the crafty, yet beautiful Zazmaria, who yearns for the power and prestige accorded the royal house. Traeus is saddened by his father’s death and is also a little uncertain how to proceed, unfortunately allowing doubts to surface about his ability to rule wisely.
As resistance mounts against his rule, Traeus realizes that he must find a way to lead more effectively and unite his people in a common goal. Descending into the depths of the earth, Traeus finds his inspiration in a dangerous and powerful secret, a secret which is capable of reaching thousands of years into the future.
Alexandra Logan and Mitch Carver, two present day graduate students, feel compelled to journey to Egypt, to determine whether their surprising theories might be true. However, even in modern times, treachery and the thirst for power compel adversaries to thwart their plans. This is the exciting prequel to the book, Secret of the Sands, a marvelous mystery which will draw the reader into the very depths of the desert, where secrets lie hidden beneath a massive monument, a huge lion of stone, with powers beyond imagining. The short story was over much too quickly and the reader is left thirsting for more!
