Mr. Rook is book one in the brand new series, Rook’s Island, by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. I have read every one of Mimi Jean’s books and in every one, she finds a new way to surprise me, shock me, amaze me. And, she did it again!

Mr. Rook - Mimi Jean Pamfiloff:

Stephanie Fitzgerald is twenty six years old, She was studying for her graduate school finals when her older sister, Cici, announced she was going away for a weeks vacation to a fantasy island where every wish is made to come true. You can live out your wildest sexual fantasies, for a price, a very large price. But nothing will be spared to make your dreams come true. Stephanie remembers when her sister left to catch her plane. She barely took her eyes off her book she was studying to see her leave. That was the last time she ever saw her sister because she never came back.

Stephanie is determined to find out what happened to her sister. She can’t rest, she can’t let go, without finding out what happened to her. So she eventually finds the contact information for the island, and books herself under an assumed name. She will go to the island, confront the owner, Mr. Rook, and find out what happened to her sister. But how will Stephanie ever get the money to pay for her fantasy vacation? It ends up she has to sell her soul for the chance to find out what happened to her sister.

sexy man in the ocean:

James Rook owns the island that has brought countless women the fantasies of a lifetime. He takes his job very seriously and makes sure every woman gets her fantasy fulfilled. Rook doesn’t mingle with the guests and most definitely doesn’t sleep with them. He’s a little confused when he is told there is an irate customer demanding to see him.

Stephanie gets her wish and is finally face to face with the infamous Mr. Rook. But she never could have prepared herself for her reaction to him. One look into those eyes of his and she was lost.

“How was it possible to feel entranced and literally mortified of a man all at the same time.”

Stephanie wants answers, not to fall for the owner of the island. But her body reacts in a way it has never done before. She gets the feeling that Rook feels the same way. But she can’t allow herself to feel for this man.

“It’s like we’re tuned into the frequency of each other’s bodies. And he kept playing with my knobs, turning up the heat.”

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/a9/20/99/a92099e16aa635fed299a3b7bbb9c618.gif

Strange things begin to happen, though, on the island. Stephanie has strange dreams, or are they dreams, and loses time. She’s not sure of what is real and what isn’t. One thing she is sure of is that Rook is hiding something. And she is determined to find out what, no matter how his nearness seems to affect her.

“What was it about him that made me feel afraid? What was it about him that made it impossible to look away?”

Mr. Rook - Mimi Jean Pamfiloff:

This book was beyond amazing. I was in a constant state of, “What the heck?!!” I went back and forth between swooning for Rook and hating him. Of one thing I’m sure is that Stephanie doesn’t know her own strength. She thinks she is weak and broken. But she is anything but. In true Mimi Jean fashion, she builds and builds, then throws in a huge last minute zinger, and leaves us hanging. I simply cannot wait for the next book in this series, Pawn. Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, I love you, but I also might just hate you a little bit right now. Write fast, that’s all I can say!

“I’m sorry, Stephanie. But I am the one thing on this island you cannot have.”

That sounds like a challenge to me or a very well orchestrated set-up.

First of all, I wouldn’t really characterize the book as “romance”. It is more a mystery book - at least the first book of the trilogy, because I don’t know how this will end.
The romance aspects are barely touched and the relationship between Mr. Rook and Stephanie varies
from hatred,
to curiosity,
to forbidden and unexpressed lust,
to disgust and
to lust continually again.

And although everyone on this weird, mystical, mythical island is having sex in various ways,

Anyway the story starts as kind of “normal”, then becomes “paranormal”, then “normal” again and finally ends up as over the top “paranormal” with a cliffhanger.

So let me say a few things about the story. Stephanie’s sweet sister, Cici, has disappeared. Stephanie adores her sister. They grew up together and since they have lost their mother in a young age, she was a mother figure for little Stephanie. Their father has been an award-winning war correspondent and was almost never there for the girls.

When Cici wins a holiday to the “Fantasy Island” (yes, maybe the TV show was based on the story of this island), Stephanie couldn’t have imagine that Cici will never come back. Nobody could give her any information about what happened to her sister, but Stephanie does not easily give up. Thus, she decides to book a holiday for her at the same island. A very expensive holiday. A holiday that costs her 100000 dollars. Money that she did not have but she borrowed from notorious gangster Warner Price in exchange for information.

Finally, Stephanie lands on the island where every sexual fantasy becomes reality.
And she meets mysterious Mr. Rook.

Stephanie will be in a state of half dreaming, half kind of awake most of the time. She will see and hear things that she does not understand: Monks with dark hooded robes and lanterns, her sister swimming, voices outside her window, elderly women with butterfly pendant who seem to transform in a just a few days.

And Mr. Rook keeps giving her explanations which don’t have any sense whatsoever . He tells her his own version of what happened to her sister. He flirts with her and then runs away.

The book ends with a paranormal revelation and a new start for Stephanie. I am still not sure why Mr. Rook plays with Stephanie BUT it certainly feels like a cat and a mouse game. You know what I mean “You are free to leave, but only because I made you think that you are free to leave”.

Modern Day Fantasy Island with hot steamy fantasies!

I really enjoyed this book. It is basically a modern day “Fantasy Island” where all the island guests are women. Most fantasies are as you would expect, so there are a lot of handsome muscular men dressed as Tarzan, Pirates, Cowboys and so on. However there are also more therapeutic fantasies like getting closure with a dead loved one and more fantastical or magical ones.

Our protagonist, Stephanie, wants to find out what happened to her sister who came to the island and was never seen again. so she goes to the island with a fake last name and background, for a vacation with the fantasy of having a romance on a yacht with a nice gentleman, in order to get answers from the owner Mr. Roarke, oops - I meant Mr. Rook.

“Don’t worry. I’ll use a glass. And if you bring my drink in the next two minutes, there’ll be a smile in it for you. Possibly a foot massage, too.”
I leaned back. “Because, damn, my feet hurt and you look like you have strong hands.”

Welcome to the island that fulfills your most secret desires, ladies! It will come at a price, and you are sworn to secrecy, but it is guaranteed that for one glorious week you will be indulged, pampered and be treated like the queen, siren, or sex slave you want to be in your deepest fantasies. You will go home, and know that no matter what life has given you or will do so in the future, you have that exquisite memory to cherish always.

Who better to give us that dream island retreat than Mimi Jean Pamfiloff as she sets out on the maiden voyage of her latest series, Rook’s Island, a place unknown to the outside world? Meet MR. ROOK himself, a man who is secretive, controlling and very reclusive, and ask yourself, is there more to Mr. Rook than meets the eye? Like a vision just outside of your grasp, he will tease your senses, taunt your dreams and all while doing his best to remain in the background. At least that’s how it was for Stephanie, a woman on a mission of discovery, a woman determined to strip the façade of both the man and the island bare as she searches for the answers to what happened to her missing sister.

What our lovely skeptic finds is far from what she imagined and Mr. Rook is more than anything her wildest fantasies could conjure, even as he remains just out of reach, much like the mystery of what happened to her sister, whose last known whereabouts was Rook’s Island.

Mimi Jean Pamfiloff has gone over to the dark side of romance and suspense, but she has not left behind her unique characters, feisty women and moments of comic relief. Stephanie is my kind of woman, hellbent on getting answers, determined not to be impressed by what she finds and constantly cajoling herself into being the bitch she needs to be to gain an audience with the elusive Mr. Rook. And Mr. Rook, himself? Can you say “Mimi HOT?” Yet, there is just…something that doesn’t add up and I am sure this is another “Mimi twist” we are about to witness and fall for, hook, line and sinker.

Definitely zero in on this one, because as they say, “the plot thickens…” and with Mimi Jean Pamfiloff stirring up the action, this will be another fantasy to remember!

I received an ARC edition from Mimi Jean Pamfiloff in exchange for my honest review.

Hmm, how this book made me feel... I’m confused. Intrigued. Scandalized? Ok, maybe not scandalized. It would take more than this to be scandalized, but it’s not for the faint of heart. This was one big ball of mysterious possibilities and Mimi Jean Pamfiloff has me very curious to where she is headed with this series. You will need to check reality at the door because what part one is hinting at is pretty out there and yet, I’m hooked. I’m a fan of this authors writing so despite all the crazy things going on, I can’t wait to see what happens next. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Say whaaaaat?!

First off, I was like a Cheshire cat smiling while reading the blurb of the Island, somewhere out of the government's radar, in the Bahamas area, that offers any and every fantasy you desire! It's a vacation of your dreams for a spicy price, of course...and it's Mr Rook's Island, and exclusive, secretive resort where everything goes, fulfilling your deepest need and desires...

I'm fuckin there...

And then, the story takes off when the main heroine Stephanie Brenna (actually Fitzgerald) sets out to find her sister, who went on such vacation and never came back from it. She's tormented by the "unknown" fate of her beloved sister, and that torment turned her into a person that has an aversion to the physical touch, she's desperate and obssessively compulsive to set her mind and crippling emotions to rest yet determined to take charge and cope with the potential discovery of her sister's fate. She makes a deal with a loan shark, in exchange for the financial support to pay the week in the Island resort, she needs to provide any information on the island and the mysterious Mr. Rook.

That seems easy enough BUT then things start to change, as she actually meets Mr. Rook in person, and what she starts to experience is more than just the final notion of her sister's fate, it starts to play with her mind, body and soul...the sounds, the closeness and alure of this man, that she can't figure out, the mysterious happenings on the island, but mostly the pent up attraction and chemistry between her and Mr. Rook...and the fact that he's full of restraints inspite the palpable spark and physical desire...
I'm sorry, Stephanie. But I am the one thing on this island you cannot have.

And the revelation of why, would stun Stephanie to the core, as it would also intrigue her to stay longer on the Island, to discover the true mystery that is Mr. Rook

This was intriguing, interesting and filled with a suspenseful haze of mystery, and with the touch of fantastical segments in the story placing it somewhere in between the undefined sphere on the verge of alternate reality and fantasy! And I am so fuckin eager to figure out this shit of a mind cluster fuck!!!

Fans of the old 1970’s television show will find the initial premise familiar, but with a sexy, buff, enigmatic man in charge of a high-tech island designed to fulfill a woman’s every fantasy, Mr. Roarke will need to step aside! Mr. Rook is a creeptastic take on the old Fantasy Island series, and it left me guessing and suspecting and panting for more.

The subject of the story is one which always fascinated me. If you could have your fantasies come true, would you? What would they be? What lengths would you go through to make it happen? And would it be a situation where you need to be careful what you wish for because it just might come true? This is the dilemma that faces Stephanie. Searching for answers regarding her sister’s disappearance on Mr. Rook’s Island, she plays a game in order to meet the elusive man that serves as the master of ceremonies and overseer of all in his exclusive domain. She needs to gain his trust to find out information, not only about her sister, but about the man himself. What she doesn’t count on is falling for the mysterious stranger. Or having odd hallucinations and feeling like she’s losing her mind on the island. Strange things are afoot but she’s determined to find out what is going on.

I have to admit, you read a description that says it’s a story about an island that fulfills a woman’s wildest fantasy, and my dirty mind went to one place. But that was just the tip of the iceberg on this island. And considering that this was a “Mimi book” I should have known that all was not what it seemed. Like the island itself, the story was sinister and sultry. The characters were mysterious and snarky and I found myself disappearing from reality and wandering the island alongside Stephanie in her quest to find out the truth.

Which, by the way, we don’t get in this book!

Damn you Mimi and your cliff hanger!!! I am hooked and eagerly awaiting the release of the second and third books so I can find out what on earth is going on! Who exactly is Rook? What’s with the butterfly necklaces? Will Stephanie be indebted to the mobster who loaned her the money for her trip? How do I sign up for this island? There are so many questions here. I must have answers! And get some sleep. Because this is one book that you won’t put down until you are finished.

3 Mr. Rook Stars

Mr. Rook is an okay book. I bought it because it was on sale for 99 cents and I like duet books, call me crazy but I love a cliffy. I have purchase a few Mimi’s books because she knows how to advertise good books. She has great premises and covers.

The thing is, I usually start and not finish her books or I rate them an average rating. This is my honest opinion and I’ll say this, her writing isn’t for me. I tried I really did.

This wasn’t a bad book, but it was a book that just didn’t jive for me.

First off, I really hate tame books when the premise is hot! There’s an island that cater towards every woman’s fantasies and the best I got out of this book is some kissing?!!!!

Yes, my friend, KISSING.

Stephanie’s sister won a vacation to visit Mr. Rook’s island, where for a fee he caters towards woman’s fantasies, no he doesn’t provide it, but he hires people to. He’s the business owner.

Stephanie is on the hunt to find out what happens to her sister. Like I said I like the premise, but I didn’t care for the execution of it. I found Stephanie annoying annoying annoying. I didn’t like her “act” and I didn’t see any chemistry between her and Mr. Rook.

Mr. Rook is all that and more and what is Stephanie? She’s an average joe. I think it would have been better for me to get his POV so I could understand why he would ever be interested in her.

And when she finds out

I will give you this, the book is short and easy to read, I like those. I finished it easily in one sitting. But I will not be continuing the series, unless there’s some serious freaky sex. I’m just saying.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the beginning to another brilliant series by Mimi Jean.

Rook Island is not on the maps and very few actually know about it with people only telling close friends about it.

An island where only women's fantasy are made to come true and only women are eligible to become guests for a hefty price tag.

Stephanie is a strong woman set on a mission to find her missing sister and she will do anything to get information on her whereabouts. She does not count however on the dashing Mr Rook and the confusing set of events that happen on the island.

I actually read this book in just a day, sitting down and having a day indoors with my kids going nuts around me as i just could not put it down.

The book does not have a cliff hanger ending however there are so many loose ends that you will be tearing your hair out in anticipation for the next book to come out.

This is the first part of what promises to be a darkly sexy, fantastically clever, emotionally jarring and completely addicting island adventure with a side of mind twisting mystery I can't seem to get enough of thanks to this brilliant story teller.

Stephanie Fitzgerald is brilliant, sassy and fearlessly determined to find her sister or at the very least what happened to her on her island vacation. She goes undercover making a deal with the devil to get access to a top secret island getaway where her sister disappeared and nothing is what it seems to be. Boy oh boy does Mr. Rook deliver of every devious, decadent and sexy promise that is whispered about him. Waiting on the edge of my bed (where I read) for Pawn the next part of this adventure.

Mr. Rook by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff
Genres; I have a special shelf for books like this. One named 'Author Rejects'.
1 Star (Simply because I didn't find many editing errors)

Positives & Negatives
Started off good. Had a lot of promise. Had an interesting premise, played on the old series from t.v. 'Fantasy Island'. I read a lot of 5 star reviews before I downloaded it.
I would like to head slap every person who left a 5 star review! This thing is so bad it actually made me angry for wasting my time. I had to sleep on it before I could even think about writing a review.

Okay. Time for some harsh truth.
And yes, I know all your 'Street team' is going to attack my review once I put it on Amazon. But I am still going to tell the truth about this book.
This is an Honest Review!
Stilted language and dialogue.
Way to wordy. HIGHLY repetitive.
No real action. Everything is words and thoughts and a lot of running around in the angsty circles of Stephanie's mind.
At 50% nothing has changed from the 1st chapter.
To much innuendo and alluding without any real story. No real world build. No character builds. Nothing makes sense. In fact, there is one 'scene' where Stephanie calls her father to tell him her sister, his daughter Cici is dead. For me that was the final straw of stupidity. Why?
Because apparently her father knew all this time Cici was dead and never told Stephanie. He let her run around like a fool, become indebted to a loan shark and run off to this mysterious island looking for her sister who disappeared without a trace months ago and NEVER told her anything. That really got me steaming. And speaking of 'Steam"...
There is None. At one point they get close, but nope! Once again in this book, it is a whole lot of 'Nothing Happens'. The closest this book gets to Adult is Stephanie's fondness of the 'F' word.
I was beginning to wonder if this was a young adult book. After finishing it I realized that would be an insult to 'YA' books and authors.
It is excruciatingly boring.
Had promise but failed Massively to deliver.
A total and complete waste of time.

Happy face, i loved it!!!

Welcome to “Fantasy Island.” Where you pay fifty K and they make your wildest fantasies come true. One week in Heaven.....

And not everyone comes home from vacation.

."My name is Stephanie Fitzgerald. I am twenty-six years old, London born, New York raised.
My special feature was my tenacity. Once I set out to do something, I achieved my goal no matter how difficult."

Stephanie

The man’s face and powerful-looking body flipped a switch deep inside, triggering a lust that shamed me, given why I was here.
Then, I noticed his stunning eyes. Predatory and coldblooded, they appeared nearly translucent with a tinge of steel gray or a pale, pale blue.
Regardless, no man should be so attractive. Or so emotionless.

"I think you should add smug and insensitive to your list of sins, Mr. Rook."
Huh... I just got blindsided by this book - in the best possible way!

When her sister doesn't return from a dream vacation on a mysterious island, Stephanie goes in search of her. She finds herself going head-to-head with the owner of the island, Mr. Rook, as she tries to puzzle out just what happened to her beloved sister.

So, the best word for this story is ENTERTAINING! It sure kept me turning the pages, because I HAD to know what the hell was going on with this freaky island! There were some great twists and turns in the plot, plus the push-and-pull between Rook and Stephanie was...yep, you guessed it...ENTERTAINING.

It's been quite a while since I read a book by Ms. Pamfiloff; I'd forgotten how much I love her crisp, direct writing style. It pulls you in and doesn't let you go. Couple that with the creepy/sexy vibe of the island and its owner, and we've got a winner! 4 SOLID STARS! I'm off to read the sequel.

Rook is an Island not too many people know about and you need a lot of cash to go there, that is if you've been excepted and the owner Mr Rook is a mystery unto him-self, not to much is known about him. The Island offers fantasy vacations for women and any thing thats desire is catered for making every woman's wish come true.
Stephanie's sister had won a trip to this island but had never returned, Stephanie intends to find out what happened which means she'll have to visit the island and get on the good side of this Mr Rook, he's got to know the truth: but first she needs money, lots of it. Stephanie's determined to find her sister and her meagre cash flow is not going to stop her, she'll get there. And when she does, the arrogant Mr Rook is not on the menu...right! he can't hide away from her for ever, she plans to complain about every thing, he's got to show up eventually.
He does, but she doesn't also expect hallucinations and strange happenings that freak her out.
This story had me in tears...of laughter and the mysteries had me mystified, intrigued and guessing. Wonderful writing!
I couldn't put it down once it started it was such a fun read, I can't wait for more in this series. I highly recommend it!

A beautiful island with a deadly secret...

Mr. Rook's island is the exclusive fantasy getaway known only by word of mouth that women are DYING to visit. Imagine if you will, a place like the old T.V. show Fantasy Island with the handsome and mysterious James Rook acting as our host, every person there is to cater to your every whim but something is amiss...

Stephanie Fitzgerald's older sister Cici won a $50,000 trip to Mr. Rook's island and never returned home. Believing her older sister to be dead, and receiving no help from the Bahamian authorities in an investigation to her disappearance, Stephanie borrows $100,000 from mobster Warner Price to take a "vacation" there to perhaps discover the fate of her sister. The money wasn't given from the goodness of mr Price's heart it was given with promise that she'll return with the location of the mysterious island and information on it's enigmatic owner and work for Mr. Price for the rest of her life.

For Stephanie, EVERYTHING is riding on her ability to get close to Rook and find out what happened to Cici.

ARC REVIEW

Mr. Rook is the first part of Mimi Jean Pamfiloff's newest series Mr. Rook's Island. Yes I said PART meaning there is a cliffhanger, frankly when it comes to Mimi it only surprises me when there isn't a cliffhanger. Mr. Rook's Island is a Fantasy Island-esk place, (rumor has it the tv show was based on the real life Mr. Rook's Island, or so says the book) Here woman granted a fantasy, something they have always wished to do, and for a pretty penny Mr. Rook grants that wish. The publicity is non-existent it is spread by word of mouth and vetted extremely well, the private island lives well off radar.

Stephanie Fitzgerald has plans of her own and they don't include giving into any fantasy. Stephanie managed to lie her way through the vetting and get a spot on the plane going out to Mr. Rook's Island. All this because her sister went missing and the last place she was was Mr. Rook's Island. The chances that Stephanie will get to met Mr. Rook are slim to none but she manages to lie, whine, and manipulate her way to Mr. Rook. Rook knows something is up with Stephanie and he has made it his duty to fulfill her fantasy personally, but it is way more than anything Rook expected and far more dangerous than Stephanie anticipated.

Overall, this was fantastic! The writing is dark and humourous, what Mimi does best. Mimi has raised the bar on this Dark Romance. The mystery and romance found on Mr. Rook's Island is a well thought out tease for what's to come.

Well this delightful offering from this author kind of reminded me of a cross between the old Fantasy Island tv show and Lost ! Gorgeous, sinful and mysterious Mr Rook owns an island where if you can pay the price your wildest fantasy can come true . Sounds too good to be true doesn't it ? Well maybe that's because it is and there's something at work here that goes way beyond the norm and trust me there's never been a theme park quite like this.
Stephanie knows her sister visited Rooks island but she never came back. Now Stephanie is undercover trying to find out exactly what happened but she's got a pretty scary backer at home who like Stephanie wants answers. Ok then blend in and discover what happened but there's a slight problem when things don't quite go to plan and even worse Stephanie starts to find James Rook to be pretty irresistible. Yet the mystery deepens with strange dreams, apparent hallucinations oh and clients who are anything but ordinary!
This held my attention until the last page when I realised that as much as I think I've unraveled some secrets the author isn't quite ready to reveal everything. Yes there are sexy shenanigans to be had for a price here and I'm pretty sure this scenario could fuel many a woman's fantasies but it's the darker tones shrouded in mystery that really entertain. Rook you will both love and hate at times but Stephanie I think will appeal to most readers as she's tenacious and most definitely not about to go quietly! I really enjoyed this and look forward to discovering just what happens next.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

I'm so bummed it's over. Yes, there's a cliffhanger, but that's typical Mimi and I expected it, however, I just wanted to keep reading. I'm hooked!! So many unexplained things left to uncover and I'm excited to see how everything is explained. But mostly it's a great read and I want more! Definitely recommended!!

What can I say?? Not much, I am in the dark as to where this is going, but I am intrigued enough to continue. I need to get to know Mr Rook that’s for sure.

Stick another feather in your cap Mimi, this book has me hooked and I wait patiently (not really, I need to know what happens next ASAP…please) to see where that last chapter of revelations leads us to in the next book.

Stephanie is driven by the grief of not knowing what happened to her sister and her take no crap attitude will let nothing stand in the way of finding out the truth, not even the devastatingly handsome and mysterious Mr. Rook.

A secret island where all a woman’s deepest fantasy can come true, for a price, Stephanie Fitzgerald is searching for who disappeared on this island.

Plots and machinations that only could come from Pamfiloff’s imaginings will boggle your mind and keep you glued to the pages.

And What FREAKIN' a cliffhanger!

If words could become heat, Pamfiloff Mr. Rook would have started an inferno...it is that HOT HOT HOT!

Mimi Jean Pamfiloff never ceases to amaze me with her writing skills, and MR. ROOK is no exception. I was drawn in from the first sentence and couldn’t put the book down. The characters were simply amazing, the details of the island drew a vivid picture in my imagination. I really felt like I was there with Stephanie, the main character that is trying to find out what happened to her sister Cici when she visited Rook’s Island.

The first in a 3-book series, Mr. Rook introduces us to Rook’s Island, which some may think is very like Fantasy Island. The love/hate relationship that Rook and Stephanie have for each other plays out well throughout the entire book. And the mystery behind Stephanie’s sister’s disappearance keeps building throughout the book. The mystery of Rook and his island will also draw you in; and with the huge cliffhanger that Mimi leaves us with she leaves you craving more and begging her to hurry up and release PAWN, the 2nd of the 3-book series.

Mr Rook, what can I say a say about this book?  OMG, Mimi does it again! She pulls you into the story and you feel like you are right there. Stephanie's sister wins a week long vacation at a very secretive island that can make your fantasy come true. Only problem is she never returned. Stephanie has to find the truth and finds a way to get on the island, which isn't easy. It's not advertised, only whispers of a "fantasy island" can be found. It takes month's of digging but she finally finds a way in. Once there she complains about the service  and demands to meet the owner, Mr Rook. He's so much more than she planned on. He georgeous, arrogant, wealthy and a prick. But he has to know what happened to her sister. The attraction she feels for him is unplanned, the " hallucinations" she seems to be having about her sister are driving her crazy. There is something strange going on this island but what? I just can't come up with the right words to explain how good, crazy, wanting for more, this book make you feel. You will just need to read it yourself to find out.  I  received a REVIEW copy in exchange for an honest review.

There are no brochures, no advertising, no website and no government acknowledges its existence. But somewhere West of the Bermuda Triangle in Bahamian waters is an island, spoken about only in whispers where women go to have their wildest romantic fantasies fulfilled for the bargain price of $50k. The island is rife with secrets and not all is what it appears to be. But what happens when guests don’t return home after their week of bliss?

There is nothing Mr Rook’s staff can’t deliver. His eyes are blue ice, his looks are straight out of a wet dream, he’s off limits, but he has made it his mission to make your wildest fantasies come true. And he will protect his island and its secrets at any cost.

When Stephanie’s sister disappears after winning a vacation to the mysterious Rook’s Island, unable to accept never knowing the truth she must find a way to get herself an invite to the elusive island to try and find answers. Stephanie must fight against her instant attraction to Rook and to hold onto her mistrust, because there is so much more at risk for her than not knowing the truth of her sister’s disappearance.

Full of twists and turns Mimi Jean does an amazing job keeping her readers guessing. You find yourself rooting not only for the heroine but for the enigmatic anti-hero. Another page-turner, that was impossible to put down. As I curse the cliffhanger, I wait with baited breath for the next installment “Pawn”.

I was given an Advanced reading copy for an honest review.

Just finished reading Mr. Rook by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff! Lucky for me I got an advance copy to read and review. This book is amazing!! Without giving away too much, the main character puts herself into a deal with a very bad man in order to go to an exclusive island where her older sister disappeared. It's a fantasy island for women only!! What Stephanie finds on this island is way more than she bargains for. This is book one of a three book set and the cliffhanger at the end will leave you begging for book two! If you dream of hot men fulfilling your every fantasy in paradise, this is a must read!
