Beauty and the Beast

Bellamy Beaumont thought nothing could be worse than being broke and jobless. Then she found out her parents sold her to a mysterious company with its headquarters far from town. Inside the huge but plain concrete building, she finds a growling new boss who doesn't seem to want a new assistant. But who also refuses to let her leave. And what is his obsession with her scent?

Adrian Garrett's life is fine. Perfectly fine. He runs his pack and his company with efficiency and has no time for a mate. No matter how loud and how angry his wolf becomes, Garrett believes that a mate is unnecessary. That is until Bellamy is brought to his attention. One sniff and he's smitten.

The problem is that Bellamy is a human and Garrett's a wolf. Can one beauty save the beast?

“Let me go.” I plead. “I’ll take me and my smelly self away. Just let me go.”
His hand, the one he used to keep me from falling, tightens around my biceps. “I don’t think I can.”

I had two main issues with this book, which I have to say that I really enjoyed, because it is nicely smutty, funny and the sex is hot.

My first issue is that, although this is a series of four books based on the fairytale of Beauty and the Beast, I did not get the Beauty and the Beast myth in this second book. It is a nice shifters’ story: The big, bad, Alpha who sniffs his mate and straight away decides that she is his. And the girl who resists in the beginning and then she almost rapes the big, bad wolf because she cannot resist the mating heat.

I have to admit that the first part of the book, where Bellamy is thrown at the wolf and she realizes that she has just been sold to him by her ruthless parents is funny.

The second part of the book, where Garrett explains the situation to Bellamy is not to the same standards. It felt like the story had to be rushed to be finished. Especially when a fairy was put in the mix to save the day.

I think if it was 50 pages more, I would like it more. Because definitely it has many potential and kept me interested until the end. I wanted to learn more about Adrian Garrett's pack and their secret business.

My second issue is that I did not get the title of the book. What the “summer” has to do with the story? I understood the title “Beauty in Spring” for the first book in the series. There were gardens, flowers etc. A very springtime atmosphere. I did not get the summertime atmosphere in this book. Besides the title of the book, the word “summer” is nowhere in the book. And the only “Hot” thing in this book is Garrett, not the weather.

Summarizing, I loved it as a shifters’ story, but I don’t think it is suitable for this series.

This is the second "Beauty and the Beast " themed book of this four book series... In this series, each book is a different story but with the same theme... and each one is written by a different author.

This one I didn't care much for. Mostly I couldn't find a connection to the characters; nor did I have any emotional attachment to the story as a whole! These stories are quite short, and it makes it hard to feel invested in them if they aren't written in a way that can make the reader care about what is going on!

I will still read the next two.. mainly because I know the last book is written by Alexa Riley whose work I usually enjoy very much!!

The only thing I know about this book before reading this one is that there's no epilogue but I didn't expect it to end that way. I thought there's at least another page or two.

The story is about Adrian "Garrett" and Bellamy.

She needed a job and her mom gave her a letter that says she's been hired as an Administrative Assistant at BMI Enterprises. Her parents who haven't been in the same room for years dropped her off to her new workplace. She didn't know they sold her.

Garrett is the President and CEO of BMI Enterprises. He's also a wolf shifter and the Alpha of their pack. At first, he tried to deny she's his mate but he can't helped it.

Everything happened in just a day. The story is good but with that ending, I needed an epilogue more.

"Beauty in summer" is the second book in the beauty in the beast retelling.
Bellamy is broke, and to top it all her parents unknowingly sell her to a pack.
Blindly escorted by them to the cabin, she realizes she is trapped and their alpha Garrett keeps sniffing her. Then she comes to know she's his mate, sex and a HFN.
It was a short story, and pretty abrupt. I didn't feel the connection between the h and H- and some things confused me.
The sex was ok at the best, and their emotions were unconvincing.
I'd have liked to punch the parents though.

3* insta-wolf STARS!

My first read from Ella Goode from the Beauty series. A dirtier retelling from Beauty and The Beast with a touch of paranormal. Sounds great, huh? Well, it is. I found this one has way more interesting 'plot' from the previous book, Beauty in Spring. The story hold my interest until the half; not really into the ending. Kinda 'magical'.

Bellamy Beaumont totally has the shittiest luck in her life. With no job and crazy parents. When this 'shady' job came from her parents, she already sense something wrong but still think positive. Adrian Garrett is the boss also the alpha for his pack. But he couldn't function properly without being 'snap' around. Then came Bellamy that makes his inner wolf need to claim her.

Bellamy was bad-ass and didn't give fuck. Feisty and a bit crazy. I kinda adored her at first. The chemistry between them was nicely done but the execution a bit meh. Less passionate than the foreplay. They're too whipped with each other. Anyway, I liked the whole paranormal things between them. Human and wolf in modern era. Bellamy also believe in fantasy, so Adrian is totally acceptable for a wolf.

In the mood for a quick read and trying to clear my e-reader of my older books while on medical leave. I came across the Beauty series, and the cover jumped out at me, and I clicked to read it. I initially downloaded this whole series due to the covers but also the fact that one of the four authors was Alexa Riley. I haven't read anything of Ella Goode's previously but this particular book I loved so much. In Beauty in Summer, we meet Bellamy Beaumont who is not only jobless now after being let go, but she is the type of girl who has no attachments to the world as everyone she loves rejects her. I have to admit I felt so sorry for Bellamy and just wanted to give her a big hug. Her parents now rolling in money it turns out to have sold her and on her birthday nonetheless. She has been hired to hopefully become the mate for Adrian Garrett, who is a wolf. When she arrives, she is nervous at first, but soon she slowly eases herself into the environment. Beauty in Summer was a werewolf novel, and a quick romance read with a HEA. I found this one a sweet story, and I do think that heavily relies on the female lead Bellamy as in a way I connected with her.

Bellamy se encuentra con que sus padres, quienes nunca se han preocupado por ella de repente le han conseguido un trabajo. Ella sospecha de tanta amabilidad... Y no estaba equivocada.

Raritos tirando a espeluznantes.

While this wasn’t my favorite and I didn’t catch too many feels, I did enjoy some things about this Beauty & the Beast retelling. I liked the writing, I loved how growly he was, and his obsession with her scent was sometimes humorous.

A quick little epilogue to wrap up their story would’ve been a nice touch.

This was my first read from this author and I’ll definitely read more from her.

There’s a reason why I stopped reading novellas from these various authors. They have gotten so ridiculous it’s not even cute or funny.
Everyone and I mean everyone walked all over the heroine. It got to a point that even I wanted to walk all over her. The girl needed a slap in the face real bad and I was getting ready to give it to her.

A Fairytale Favourite with A Smutty Twist : Book 2

This series of books, all with a similar theme but are individual stand alone stories, had me in when I knew they were all going to take the theme of Beauty & The Beast & make it deliciously smuttastic.

I mean who doesn't love a naughty fairytale hot enough to make you swoon, blush & squeeze your thighs together?

I loved Bellamy & Garrett's story.
Bellamy was smart sassy & made me laugh out loud several times. I'd like to take her parents and slap them silly though...

Now, Garrett. Hello sexy growly alpha with an amazing heart. Every time that guy was on the page, I wanted to be Bellamy so bad!

I also loved that this story added other paranormal elements along with it being hot AF!

Short and smutty

Beauty In Summer is an erotic version of a popular fairy tale I love. I devoured this book in one gulp. It's exciting, engaging, super hot, and the perfect palate cleanser to read between lengthier novels. Loved this so much.

2 1/2 "Mine" Stars!

This went from 0 to 100 real quick! It was smutacular, but I didn't really get the Beauty and the Beast vibe. More just a "mine at first sniff" shifter vibe. It was something to read for an hour or so. Happy reading!

While I knew going into this it was a short story, it felt like there were things that needed more development. Some novellas feel like a complete story, this didn't, it had the potential to be a full length book, but maybe that's just me.

Bellamy is basically sold to a wolf pack by her parents. She thinks she's being taken to a job interview, it soon becomes obvious that that's not the case. Garrett the alpha is immediately smitten with Bellamy and knows she's his mate but she's a human.

This was my least favorite out of the four of them. The story was kind of ridiculous and the characters, mostly Bellamy, were a bit annoying. I just never warmed up to her. It fell flat for me.

This was a mess... Probably the worst shifter romance ever!
No logic to the story, to the character's motivations and reactions, no context, no plot, nothing!

Soft DNF...got about 30% in...wasn't super impressed with the writing or how the plot was unfolding...I'd say the weakest in the series...but it was okay. If I had more time, I'd have finished it. Perhaps I'll pick it back up later. 😃
