The Forever Manny: Gay Romance

Rate this book
Marshall Bowen is more comfortable sitting in a boardroom, but now he has his baby niece, Tessa, to take care of. Until very recently, Marshall didn't even know he had a sister, and the baby is a complete shock to him. He's out of his comfort zone and doesn't know the first thing about taking care of a baby. But he'll have to learn fast. He does have some help. Cody is his late sister's best friend, and he has become incredibly attached to the baby. After he and Cody meet, Marshall is determined to keep the young man around. It's only for Tessa's sake, of course. He would never indulge in his budding attraction to the baby's manny. Cody is glad to help Marshall take care of Tessa, but it's only a temporary arrangement. Once Marshall gets the hang of parenting, Cody will go back to his old life. He can't stay Tessa's manny forever, can he? But what will happen when Cody wants more? Will Marshall want a future with him?

Sigh.... I love Manny stories and hello... do you see how hot this cover is?
In this one, we have Marshall... workoholic, bajillionaire who can't be bothered with relationships or people other than his work and bestie Hugh....Who I really wanted to call Hughie Lewis, because remarkably... that was his name! But, anyway...

Marshall finds out through his assistant that he had a half-sister and she's recently passed away, leaving her infant daughter. He's worried, but brings the baby and the man currently caring for her, out to him so he can get to know this little baby... What he didn't plan on, was falling for his half-sister's best friend/carer of his niece; Cody.
Now, I'll agree with some of these reviews... it is your typical Manny story.. it's a bit predictable and of course they fall in love, but come on, that's why we love them!

Cody was a little closed off and his attitude was a little too much at times. I mean, I guess he had reason for it.... kind of, but it was obnoxious at times for me... Luckily, Marshall seemed to find it endearing. He fell in love with Tessa (the baby) and Cody so quickly and done a complete 180 with his wanting to work all the time and play around. He locked into family mode and it was incredibly cute. They almost had to fight who got to hold the baby and who got to change her and spend time with her. It was cute.

Overall, this was a very cute read with kind of an abrupt ending... also there was a guy causing trouble with that nothing really happened about and that was kind of irritating, but other than that; very sweet read.

An unexpected twist.

The two MCs in this book are opposite but they have one person binding them together, Tessa. Tessa is Marshall's niece from a half-sister, Kayla, whom he knew of but was never in contact with. Cody and his mom cared for Kayla's baby after she passed. Marshall never expected to fall for someone like Cody, but he did. Cody has some insecurities because of being bullied but after meeting Marshall, they fall away.

Another book that had a fun story, great characters but was missing a little somethin' somethin'. I'm not even sure what it was. It was a bit insta-love with the sappy shit that goes along with it. I say that but they didn't jump into to bed until very late in the book. Still, the relationship felt underdeveloped. I have 2 kids and I don't remember anyone fighting over who was going to get to hold their cranky asses. Also, Marshall's supposed to be this serious, badass CEO and he felt more like a puppy waiting for approval to me. Not someone I'd want running my company. Anyways, not bad but a little off.

What a great way to spend your time with this type of book..!

It was very enjoyable read with little angst and drama. I love how their relationship is slowly build, how they taking care of Tessa and them being lovey dovey to each other and the ending sweeten the deal..!

I tried loving this book, but it just wasn't for me mostly. I liked Marshall and Cody and Tessa, but I didn't like the nanny. I didn't think there should have been two. Cody should been the only one helping take care of Tessa. The title was miss leading in that because it wasn't until part way through did Cody start being the Manny either.

The sex and scenes with the three them I loved. I wish hadn't taken so long for them to be together either. I am glad they ended up engaged at end.

I liked this book and I finished the whole thing. But, it really is a lesson in how to make sex scenes as uninspired as possible. I don't know what went wrong, but the word perfunctory came to mind. Perhaps, it is because the actions are stated without any explanation of feeling from the POV character.

One of the better manny books out there. I like this genre. Especially if there is not too much drama. This fit the bill perfectly. Nice MC's, cute baby and no real drama. I enjoyed this very much. Sometimes I'm just all about nice and easy.
