This is an alternate cover edition for ASIN B01KVYMM2I.

Take a trip back in time with these two beautiful novellas about love strong enough to bind for eternity.*

INSTINCT

Werewolf Sean Holloway treats the village marketplace like a sexual buffet, though his charm does little to win over his latest entrée of choice. Whether because of Jem Stonehouse’s unique scent, her headstrong nonchalance, or the fact he is forbidden to see her by his pack’s rules, Sean wants her.

When Jem is nothing but flippant toward his advances, he pursues her with vigour, stealing moments alone with her without a libido-driven agenda.

The new and heady experience for him drives their relationship beyond romantic interest, and straight toward love.

That is, until Jem learns the truth about Sean’s heritage. Because knowledge of the existence of werewolves leads to only one outcome: death.

Will Sean defy his own pack to save the woman he loves?

ETERNAL

An unmarried woman living in a house of men breeds hearsay and lore.

If only the villagers knew the truth.

It’s not Jem Stonehouse’s marital status that brings unwanted strangers to town, however. It’s that she is the only female werewolf in existence — a prize to any pack.

Sean Holloway, the love of Jem’s life, has gone to great lengths to protect her. As a new attack becomes imminent, Sean realizes he must take greater measures with Jem’s safety, or risk losing her forever.

His first task must be to marry her, but a force greater than the largest werewolf stands in his way.

Her mother.

Two novellas, one very complicated love story, and enough werewolf drama to keep things interesting. 🐺

Beginnings takes us back to the early days of Sean and Jem's relationship, and I really enjoyed getting to see how their story started. Instinct introduces us to Sean, a charming but rather persistent werewolf who finds himself completely thrown by Jem because, naturally, she doesn't fall at his feet the second he turns on the charm.

Honestly, good for her. 😂

Jem has plenty of attitude and isn't afraid to stand her ground, which made the developing relationship between them much more entertaining. Watching Sean go from pursuing her for all the wrong reasons to genuinely falling for her gave the story a nice emotional progression.

Then comes Eternal, which raises the stakes considerably. Jem's situation becomes far more dangerous once her true significance is revealed, and Sean's determination to protect her puts him in some difficult positions.

And then there's her mother.

Because apparently protecting your one true love from rival packs wasn't stressful enough. Let's add the mother in law boss battle to the list. 😂

I enjoyed both novellas and especially liked seeing the foundations of the Holloway Pack story being laid. The romance has plenty of emotion, the characters have strong personalities, and there are enough twists and complications to keep things moving.

That said, I did find myself wanting a little more depth in places. With the stories being novellas, some developments felt quite quick, and I occasionally wanted more time with the characters and their relationships before everything moved on to the next crisis.

Still, Beginnings is an enjoyable introduction to Sean and Jem's story and a great way to get some background on the Holloway Pack.

Four stars from me.

Romance, danger, stubborn characters, protective werewolves, family drama, and one mother who clearly did not receive the memo about giving her daughter some peace. 🐺😂

Well written and engaging shifter fated mates novella. The world building, character development, and plot make this a page turner I won’t soon forget. I look forward to the next book in the series.
