Violet
After sacrificing years of my life on a cheating husband, I’d had enough. I set out to quench a thirst I had ignored for years. I gave myself one year to explore my sexuality—to delve into my deepest, darkest desires. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, I would have my sexual revolution. I would have my…awakening.
Diving into the world of both pleasure and pain, I was sure with Rhys I had found what I’d been missing…until he took it away.

Rhys
I was on my way out of the life when she came barging in with her new appetite and unrealistic expectations of what a Dom should be. All I had left to do to break free was sell the club and walk away. Now I found I had something to walk toward. And for the first time in my life, I hoped I’d be enough for a woman.
Caring for a woman was easy for me. I had always cared for different women for different reasons. Loving a woman had always been quite a bit harder.

Doms don’t have to say I love you.

***Guess who's owning her kinky side?***

It seems our beloved favourite author Kate Stewart kept a little secret from us. Kate Stewart is Angelica Chase...or is it Angelica Chase is Kate Stewart. What once was a pen name for her kinky side (Hello Angelica Chase...you naughty, naughty girl) Kate is now OWNING IT. She's giving us her sweet and her kinky sides.

Below is my original review. If you're interested you can get it for less than a dollar...BARGAIN!! -- http://amzn.to/2p1T9es --

From the beginning to the end, Mum knows best.

I started Sexual Awakenings with my arms folded across my chest and my face scrunched up in distaste. A book with cheating...I don't read THOSE types of books. I was sure a series that started with cheating couldn't hold my interest. It was a short read, the first instalment was free and I was a little curious to see whether THIS series could change my mind. I got sucked in. The Waltz taught me that not all cheating stories are the same. Yeppers...this year has been full of revelations.

What leads a woman to cheat? A disgusting, self-serving, cheating, b@stard of a husband might have something to do with it. Look, to be honest, I'm no convert. Cheating is still a big no-no for me. I'm happily married and don't necessarily get how people stay in toxic relationships as long as they do. In this case, I REALLY didn't get it. Violet knew she was divorcing Alex, was getting nothing from the relationship and knew she could financially support herself. But, I'm not in that position, so I can't say for certain what I would do.

Getting past the cheating, which was a smidgen of the story, this erotic tale is the journey Violet takes in exploring her sexuality and the dominant who forces her awakening. We get to see ALL of Rhys (the Dom) and how he came to own a sex club, hold a nine to five job and keep a secret that rules his life. Violet's awakening isn't just sexual, she also realises she has to be happy in her own skin again.

There were plenty of things this couple must face and overcome, but the author shows her skill by not making it all hearts and flowers, but based in reality. This couple can't fix their problems with a kiss or a bump and grind. They do get their feelings hurt and sulk about it. Secrets, lies and deception nearly cause this couple to call it quits a few times. Two things eventually help them...communication and Violet's Mum. Listen to your Mum kiddos, she's been around the block a time or two.

I ended up really enjoying this series. The author brings some reality and some seriously HOT kink to the pages. It was easy to read, intense and thoroughly riveting. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Sexual Awakenings by Kate Stewart (formally under pen name Angelica Chase)

This is a novella series where all 4 parts have been combined into one book. I gave all 4 parts of this series a 5 star rating when I read them a few years ago. They're THAT GOOD!

Part I

5 stars!

 photo 4bd4b82b-69d7-428e-95ce-d8e490b7041d_zps2a7e6260.jpg

Holy hell that was one hot read! I love sexy books and novellas. I can’t get enough of them. It’s so hard for me to rate them 5 stars, no matter how hot, because of lack of story. Thats the main thing I loved about this novella. It was insanely hot, but there was actually a story in there. A story I really liked and am looking forward to reading more of!

Violet is married, but her marriage has been falling apart for the longest time. Her husband loved her once, but now he constantly carries on affairs and she’s lucky if he comes home at night before she’s in bed. Violet’s life is comfortable, but she’s had enough. She can’t stay in this life. She wants to start living, get out there and find herself. She wants to open up and figure out what she wants. She wants to explore her self and her sexuality.

 photo 55b189de-b7f6-4140-98e5-0d3d7d936af2_zpsc5d21e08.jpg

She finds a way to do that… going right down the rabbit hole. Violet has decided to take the next year and spend her life how she wants. She wants to be open to experience new things, to have her every desire fulfilled. She meets a man that just might be able to fulfill her every fantasy. Rhys.

Rhys and Violet together… that connection and the heat. It was just so damn sexy and intense.

 photo GIFY7_zps040e9017.gif

I don’t want to go into what happens between Violet and Rhys, but I will say it’s not what I expected to happen. I’m anxious to see where the story will go. There is a small cliffhanger at the end, but it’s a serial novella so that’s going to happen. It’s nothing so extreme it would deter people from reading.

Sexual Awakening is the perfect title for this novella. If you’re looking for a smoking hot read with a great story, interesting characters and captivating writing, I would recommend this one. It was a real winner for me!

Part II

5 HOT stars!

 photo da8b2552-b5d6-43b6-878a-68e9666a94cf_zps90dd9fc2.jpg

If you read the first volume of Sexual Awakenings, you know that it was a super steamy novella. If you thought book one was hot, the second installment took the heat to a whole different level.

Rhys is a dirty man with a filthy mouth and Violet is still looking to explore different things when it comes to her sexual experiences. Rhys is more than happy to help her with that.

 photo e08e9f04-de67-4272-a094-7fa78ae13a00_zpsa93ebf8a.jpg

The first half of the novella seemed like sex overload. Quite honestly, I was little nervous about that. As much as I love the sex, it was the combination of sex and story that really drew me in while reading the first one. I was so happy that towards the middle/end the story really picked up. Something big happened that really shook up both main characters. Then the bomb was dropped, secrets were revealed, trust was broken. It leaves you wondering what will happen between these two...
I was so blinded with lust and my own agenda, I hadn’t realized he had his own.

Sexual Awakenings: The Tango was another fantastic installment in this series. It was sexy, erotic, intense and emotional at times. The writing was fast paced and it left you with just enough of a cliffy that you’re dying for the next, but not so much that the wait is torturous! I’m so happy volume 3 will be out sooner rather than later!

 photo 7402b26b-5486-4c76-9ba8-eb4c6a3ed320_zps7e1accce.jpg

Part III

5 stars!

 photo be74c628-270f-4908-b6ff-21936fa91f5d_zps04e9cbeb.jpg

This wasn’t the end, it was just the beginning.

At the end of the last installment, we get a bomb dropped about Rhys. He’s not all who he appears to be. He is so much more. Violet has been through an intense few months. With Rhys, her attack, her pending divorce. It is just too much. She needs to get a way for a short while. So she does. And while she’s there, she gets to know Rhys better, without all the physical distractions. She gets to make her own choices with a clear head.
I would do this for me. I would allow myself to be happy. I would take a chance with Rhys.

I loved getting to see Rhys’s past. Why he is the way he is. We get introduced to a character I loathed even more than Violet’s ex. One of the best things about this installment is the dual pov. Getting in Rhys’s head was a real treat.

Even with Violet and Rhys’s relationship changing and evolving, they still have that magnetic attraction and that intense sexual relationship.

 photo 77e7c91d-196d-4199-ac23-618eaa68afad_zps34db7da8.jpg

Like I’ve said in my previous reviews, I love that this series is insanely hot, but there is also a great story. With each installment we get more and more. The writing is fantastic and I think both characters are so lovable. That ending... gah! I wouldn’t call it a cliffhanger, but another bomb was dropped and I didn’t see this coming. Not at all. I can’t wait until the final installment to watch all the pieces fall together and see how Violet and Rhys’s journey ends!

Part IV

5 stars!

 photo 0251de07-ebd1-46d8-b8c7-722a70d1af49_zps451f29cc.jpg

Emotional, sensual and captivating. The final installment of Sexual Awakenings did not disappoint!

Rhys and Violet’s journey has not been an easy one. Things start out a little rocky for them at the beginning of this story.
Our relationship was so simple, yet our lives had made it seem so damn impossible. The only thing standing in our way now was... us.

Some rather large bombs have been dropped in the last few novellas and now Violet and Rhys are left with the aftermath. Violet has been burned too many times and she needs some space to figure how how to handle things with Rhys. She knows she loves him. She loves Bryce. She sees forever with them. But it’s hard. Her mom gives her some sound advice...
“I say take him with all his flaws and his baggage, Violet, because he has to take you the same way.”

Rhys wants Violet. All of her. Flaws, baggage, he wants it all. He has never felt this way about anyone in his entire life. I just love this man. Rhys is sexy, he can be sweet, he’s possessive and domineering. The only thing he asks for is all of Violet. He doesn’t want just pieces- he wants everything.

 photo eb0b2c58-1a4f-4fe2-b6eb-54cd54fc2233_zps27ab4439.jpg

Violet is one of those heroines you can’t help but love. You can’t help but root for. I just wanted to cheer for her while reading. The way she stood up for herself and her relationship made me proud. I really adore these two together and the way Bryce comes into the picture. That little tuxedo was the most adorable thing ever!

This has been one of my favorite serial novella series to date. I love how every book has worked for me. There hasn’t been one weak link. The writing is fantastic, the characters are great and the story line is strong. And I can’t forget to mention the crazy hot sex scenes! If you haven’t read these books, you’re really missing out!
“I will be your everything. I’ll be the man who fucks you, possesses you, and the man who loves and cares for you.”

4 'GOLD' Stars!
description

I had no idea that Angelica Chase was a pen name of one of my favorite authors this year (Kate Stewart) so when I discovered it, I instantly bought this! If you have read anything by Kate before, you know her sexy scenes are off-the-charts, well Angelica takes it to the next level! This is BDSM themed and holy crap, was it hot!

“Everything you have at home, throw it out. No books, no toys, no other partners. I become everything you need sexually. No exceptions.”

“Eyes on mine,” he commanded, “those fucking gasps belong to me, and you give them to me when I give them to you.”

The Sexual Awakenings series is the love story between Violet and Rhys and I assure you it's a roller coaster! Full of sexual tension, super-hot and kinky scenes, suspense and twists: this series got better and better with every volume! I have to say, my least favorite was the first one (I did not get Violet's behavior at the beginning..) but as I said, it got better and better. The last two volumes are amazing, you all know I love when feelings get in the mix!

Rhys didn’t just have the right set of skills, he was the right man.

I started out her master, but I had already become her slave.

So yeah, I rated the volumes with 3, 4, and two 4.5 ratings (since there are four of them) and my total one is 4 STARS for the whole Sexual Awakenings series. I definitely enjoyed the new side of this author that I love so much! This was definitely rougher than anything I read before by Kate, it belongs to the Erotica and BDSM genre but it was a great read! Be sure to check this out if you enjoy that, guys!

 photo Sexual Awakenings teaser_zpszhwnmzmh.jpg

There are two things I’ve come to expect from an Angelica Chase book: major plot twists and smoking hot sex. This series has both those things – on steroids. Sexual Awakenings is comprised of four novellas: The Waltz, The Tango, The Last Dance, and Curtains.

After years of being ignored by her cheating husband, Violet’s finally had it. She decides she’s gone without sex long enough and gives herself a year to explore her sexuality. It will basically be a year-long no-holds-barred f*ck fest that she will indulge in without any self recrimination. I’m all for sisters doing it for themselves, and I applauded her determination to finally find pleasure. However, Violet meets Rhys and then she goes from being a lonely housewife to an unrepressed nympho in a nanosecond. It’s a bit unrealistic but I went with it, and overall I’m glad I did.

On a scale from one to ten, the steam factor in this series is a twenty. Rhys and Violet have hot, wonderfully filthy sex constantly. It’s almost too much sex though, even for an erotic romance. Too much sex?! I know, I know. There’s no such thing, right? It’s just that the storyline is really strong, and at times the frequency of sex scenes detracts from it. I kind of grew tired of the phrases, “thick cock,” and “pretty pink pussy.” That said, I stand by my belief that there’s an art to writing a convincing and appealing sex scene, and Angelica Chase excels at it. This is an erotica lover’s wet dream.

I loved Violet and Rhys together, and I enjoyed their chemistry as well as the progression of their relationship. Violet is nobody’s pushover, and Rhys is incredibly likeable. Violet’s mother is a real shining star in the story.

The series seemed to get better and stronger with each subsequent book. There are so many startling revelations that I did not see coming at all. I’m glad I had all four novellas bundled into one collection because otherwise the cliffhangers would have killed me! The plot is intriguing and remarkably addictive. I recommend this one.

WOW......just WOW!!!!
I had no idea that Kate Stewart even wrote Erotica.
I couldn't put this down.... so very sexy....my favorite read hands down by far in this particular genre.

This book is divided into 4 parts and though l later came to find out it was published originally as an Erotic novella series, the story simply flows so well you wouldn't realize it was anything other than a complete novel.

Probably the reason that I loved it so much and I really did love it, is that this book is simply not only Erotica but there is in fact a story in there that really shines through and also resonates so strongly for me as a romance reader.

Violet and Rhys journey was so sexy, exciting and one helluva rollercoaster ride!!!!.......and Violet is one of those heroines that you can't help but fall in love with...... her sexual awakening was liberating and super hot....but it was her character and actions that truly got to me.❤🧡❤

An UNEXPECTED and AMAZING read from one of my favorite authors.
WRITING was FANTASTIC.
Sex scenes were SMOKIN HOT.

To be read again, still fanning myself!!!

3 mixed feeling stars....

Well... I kind of enjoyed this one.. it was hot. But that's mostly what it was... HOT. We never got to see Rhys and Violet together much in any other environment besides when they were banging it out. Now I'm all for lots of hot sexy times.. but for a couple to really connect on the pages for me I need a little more than just the hot stuff.... It did have serious potential though and I did like it.. I just didn't REALLY like it. I'll still try this author again though because I did enjoy her writing style and she can write some seriously intense sexy scenes.

3.5 stars. I expected BDSM erotica book with lots of good sex club scenes, but at the end book was (too) sweet, too casual. "It's me, not the book" problem, because I never read reviews before reading.

HO BOY! This series is hot, hot, hot! The is a 4 piece novella series. Violet is a soon to be divorcee leaving an adulterous and neglectful husband. She decides to take back her sexuality on a year long exploration by making all of her sexual fantasies come true....BDSM, menage, women....you name it, she's game. She doesn't have the perfect body, she doesn't have all her shit together and she has serious issues. I related immediately. In walks Rhys and FUCKING SPARKS....this book is so simple, not a lot of plot but the STEAM. A lot of sex scenes but they were not corny or overdone at all in my opinion, and I am picky about my kink. There's filthy and then there's lame. There is nothing lame in any of these sex scenes and a whole lot of filthy. Well ok, he does love to say "pretty pink pussy" which annoys me but from him it totally worked. I don't feel the Dom/Sub relationship here was overplayed or unrealistic. I couldn't stop reading it because I wanted to see what they were going to try next. Both of them were believable characters and I found myself fully involved in this and honestly....I may have had to change my panties a few times. There was this scene with a camera and well, I'll let you figure that out.

Great plot, wonderful characterization, scorching chemistry!!! I loved Violet & Rhys' journey so much. The third book is the best book in the series in my opinion. We get a lot of insight on Rhys' life and I absolutely adore Bryce. Our couple's relationship develops quite well throughout book and I can say with safety that the books are climbing dangerously high in my top BDSM book list. Great work and amazing writing style.

Cannot wait to read more books from this author.

4 stars!

Holy. Freaking. Hotness. Kate Stewart has delivered a blisteringly sexy read with an emotional and heartfelt love story. This book was originally published as a four-part serial under Kate Stewart’s saucy pen name, Angelica Chase (published as The Waltz, The Tango, The Last Dance and Curtains). It’s now all together in one collection as one continuous story, and it’s a fantastic read!

Violet has been living in an unhappy, unfulfilling marriage, and she’s decided it’s finally time to leave her cheating husband and go out and experience all of the things she’s been missing. She’s sexually curious and desperate to explore her wilder wide, which is how she ends up at a secretive club to meet Rhys.

“And you are so sure you can fill my every need?”
He raised his brow as if to say “Are you kidding?”

Rhys is not your average guy. He’s a Dominant, but not in a completely overwhelming way. He wants Violet from the moment he lays eyes on her and, more than just the opportunity to indulge in all of her fantasies, he promises to give her everything she’s been looking for.

“Everything you have at home, throw it out. No books, no toys, no other partners. I become everything you need sexually. No exceptions.”

“This is not a scenario where you are fucking a man with no heart. Again with the books. I have feelings, emotions. I’m not made of steel, I bleed and I like to get to know the women I fuck. It’s a matter of feeling them out, seeing what they prefer, their wants and needs. Sex is just as psychological as it is physical, Violet. I date. I have relationships. Not all people into kink have some sort of demon to battle. It’s a sexual preference.”

And so, Rhys introduces Violet to his world, opening her eyes to everything she has been dreaming of. She revels in it, they revel in it together, and they are so damn hot together! This book is seriously sexy, there is graphic sex and kink, and plenty of it, and it shows the wild connection that these two share. Feelings soon become involved, and they eagerly dive on in, all too willing to explore their mad chemistry in all the ways.

“This is something we both know is worth taking the risk for.”

Considering that this was originally four novellas, there are plenty of ups and downs for these two, with surprises and secrets along the way that they have to deal with. It’s an emotional ride for them, I loved watching their relationship shift and change, and oh, how these two had my heart.

“When I look at you and my chest hurts, my body aches, and you say those fucking words to me, I need you to mean them.”

I loved Rhys, I thought he was such an incredible character; dirty but with a huge heart, and he’s just perfect for Violet. I enjoyed Violet’s journey to discover herself, but I thought some of the drama towards the end was a bit forced, with Violet blaming Rhys for things way out of his control. It probably would have been ok as a storyline in a separate novella, but all together in one story, I just wanted them to get their happy ending already! But they do get it, effortlessly combining their wild sexy time with a beautiful, heartfelt love story.

“I will be your everything. I’ll be the man who fucks you, possesses you, and the man who loves and cares for you.”

I really enjoyed this book. It’s steamy and emotional, with characters that I loved, and a gorgeous romance.

Such a great read. 4 stars!

DNF- no rating

Actually, I did finish this book, but I skimmed to the end so I could could see what happened. This book was not what I was expecting. I have read and enjoyed Ms. Stewart's books before. This book is a compilation of an erotic serial she wrote under a pen name ( Angelica Chase ) and re-worked it a bit to re-release it under Kate Stewart. I was expecting it to be similar to her other books, with a bit of humor, good characters and lots of emotion, only spicier and sexier. But this book, while it does have bdsm elements, was not really sexier to me. It was just eye-rollingly over-dramatic and soap opera-esque.

I didn't really like Rhys or Violet. They both were rather immature and impulsive. Violet begins the story married to a man that is obviously in-her-face cheating on her. Instead of divorcing him first, she goes trolling for sex on the internet. She meets Rhys and they begin a relationship in which she tells him she's no longer married. He finds out she lied and there is a big blow up. Then she finds out he lied to her, etc. Fights through the whole book. Lots of drama with Rhy's ex and Violet's ex. It was all pretty ridiculous. Maybe if I had read the book in a serial form, it wouldn't have felt like too much drama, when split into numerous books. But in one book together, it was just too much back and forth, fighting, breaking up, etc. I don't enjoy books where drama is just written in for drama's sake. So I didn't really enjoy this book, but I will still read more books from Ms. Stewart in the future, because I do like her contemporary romance books.

I liked this one a lot.

I know most people are big on the cheating thing but it doesn't bother me that much. I swear the majority of people have cheated at least once. It's super relate able and super forbidden and I like reading about what makes people do it. So, I tend to pick up books that include the cheating factor.

I enjoyed reading about finding who you are sexually. When people choose to explore who they are, they tend to explore other types of things and not specifically sex.

It was short and awesome and I really love this series.

The author has a well-documented history of: ableism (window licker, helmet special,  special bus driver), Hitler jokes and fingerstache, ICE jokes, racial slurs, bad rep of latinas, having a white woman dress up as Madea (a black woman) and do an exaggerated blaccent, fetishizing gay men (Reverse), slut-shaming, and internalized misogyny.

Sexual Awakenings (Sexual Awakenings 1 – 4) by Kate Stewart
4.5 stars!!!

“Can’t start a relationship based on a lie…”

Sexual Awakenings was originally penned under Kate Stewarts pen name Angelica Chase, a pen name that the author used for her “erotic” stories. This is definitely a different side to Kate Stewart and I must say…I LOVED IT A LOT!!

Violet Harvell-Hale is an extremely bored housewife and part time realtor. Her husband has been playing away for years and she has had to endure listening to his late-night proclamations of love to his many lovers every night for years. Tired of being the doormat and being ignored, Violet decides that what is good for the goose is good for the gander and it is finally time to ask for that divorce and for her to begin a voyage of sexual self-discovery, a side to her sexual nature that has never been quenched, never been explored only in her imagination and through her beloved books.

“This wasn’t the end. It was just the beginning.”

Rhys Volz is the owner of a sex club and when he sees the newest wannabe member his curiosity is instantly piqued. Rhys is a man who hasn’t participated in “the scene” for quite a while, but just seeing Violet has him wanting to come out of retirement. I adored Rhys, Kate Stewart really delivered a well-rounded hero, one that plays his cards extremely close to his chest for very good reason. Rhys is an enigma at first, he is incredibly intriguing, mysterious and commanding and no woman who has a beating heart would be immune to his charms. Rhys is charismatic, yet sincere and it is this emotional side to him that really enabled that character connection that I desperately crave.

“And for the first time in my life, I hoped I’d be enough for a woman. I started out her master, but I had already become her slave.”

Violet was a fantastic heroine, albeit I wanted to slap her for putting up with her husband’s shenanigans for so long. Violet’s husband has battered her self-confidence and self-esteem and the broken Violet is in desperate need to feel wanted, to feel loved and she craves that human, emotional interaction more than anything. This is Violet’s journey to “Sexual Awakening” and what a journey it was.

“Get your head out of your ass, Violet. Stop worrying about the man who left you and start paying attention to the man who loves you.”

This book is insanely hot, the chemistry between Rhys and Violet is powerful and all-consuming and you cannot help but be dragged wantonly into their story. The sex scenes are intense, yet emotional and it is this that shows the reader how invested these two are in each other, not just as sex club members. Both characters lack the propensity to trust and while they explicitly trust each other with their bodies, their hearts and minds are not so easily handed over. It is this journey that really made this book for me. Two broken souls, both hurt and both determined not to put themselves in that situation again. This was more than just erotica and I am glad that the trademark Kate Stewart was ever present despite her Angelica Chase alter-ego.

“…whatever he practiced on you, I can assure you he perfected on me.”

I loved the revelations throughout this book, this was so much more than what I initially thought it would be about. This story has meat and bones, not just gratuitous sex and while that side was more than welcome it wasn’t the core. Kate Stewart has once again blown me away and I cannot wait to read more from her sexy, filthy side.

I'm so glad I read this series as a collection rather than individually, because the cliffhangers would have driven me insane. It wasn't until about the 3rd part of the series I realized we were suddenly getting Rhys's point of view. I'm 90% sure it had only been from Violet's up until that point. I always like books more when I know what each character is thinking or motivating them (especially when they do or say stupid things).

This book was really great and definitely provoked several reactions and emotions from me. If you've already read this series, please let me vent to you as my husband tuned me out. Several times the phrase, "oh no he didn't" came to mind for Rhys. As much as I liked him, his outrage, pride and indignant reactions made me want to kick him in the shins. There's something the heroine finds out in the 4th part of the series that would naturally produce a strong reaction. Somehow Ryhs turns it around so that he's the injured party from the whole confrontation. Given his treatment of Violet from the beginning of the series... well, his "white lies" or "omissions" as he called them were a lot more serious.

Rant over. Again, loved this series and glad I was able to read them as a collection.

Started really well.

As a rule I'm not a fan of short serial books, although I have been know to make exceptions, while this falls into that category the whole series was available and available on kindle unlimited because if I'm being honest I would never have paid the price of the last two books, it was, in my opinion way too much for way too little.

The Waltz:
Even after all the great reviews this book still surprised me, it was hot, yes but it was so much more, in only 67 pages it managed to do what a lot of longer books can't, it developed real characters and made me care...and yes it's hot.
Violet has been married to Alex for 3 years and in that time she's shared him with countless women, he's made little effort to hide them, he just doesn't care enough or respect her enough to even try to cover his tracks, she entered the marriage for all the right reasons but I've no idea why he thought he would be a good idea to get married.
Anyway she's finally had enough, she's only thirty-two and she wants to start living, but where does a married but soon to be divorced woman find what she's looking for. Violet starts with the Internet and finds a site which looks interesting, she soon finds herself heading to meet her mystery man. The mystery man turns out to be Rhys and wow...I mean is he perfect or what, I need more and quickly luckily for me all the books are out.

The Tango:
Violet is human, she made a mistake but she's done everything she could to put it right, Rhys has been hard on her and I want to say too hard but we don't know his story I suspect there's something in his past that he's reacting to, only time and hopefully the next book will tell.
Again this book is hot and again it's so much more than that, I just can't read these fast enough and then I'm annoyed because it's over so quickly, bring on the next one....

The Last Dance:
I won't put a summary in case you've not read the previous books but this is where it started to go wrong for me, as we discovered more about Rhys and his past we see a different side to him but it was Violet that started to annoy me.

Curtains:
The previous book ended on a huge cliffhanger, of course but this one didn't pick up from there first we get some of Rhys's backstory and it's 23% in before we start where the previous one finished.
I finished this book last night and I've been trying to work out what exactly went wrong, well for me anyway and it comes down to Violet, don't get me wrong Rhys is not without blame but it was Violet that really annoyed me, I can't give examples without spoiling the story for you and I wouldn't do that.
This is not a bad book it has some good parts and maybe a surprise or maybe not depending if you guessed the way it was going.

"I will be your everything. I'll be the man who...possesses you, and the man who loves and cares for you. You have to know I love you, Violet.."

"I can't take it, Violet. With you, I ll always be selfish. I want all of you, not just what you' 're willing to risk. All of you. "

"She had moved me, weakened me, and was now breaking me."

The story of Rhys and Violet. Needed more depth in the beginning. As the story progressed, they both started to fall for each other.

I read the first novella in this series a while ago as a freebie and really liked it. The story of Violet - a woman scorned, ready to explore different facets of her sexuality was intriguing and believable. She wanders into a chatroom and the story starts! Boy did Vi hit the jackpot with Rhys when she wandered into that chatroom!
Hot - Check
Dominant - Double Check
Thick Cock - Oh Yes!!

I loved the box set and the continuation of the story. I will say I had a little problem with the fact that

With the second novella, The Tango we got Hot, Angry Dom sex. Let me just say that Ryhs is magnificent when he’s RED!

In the third novella, The Last Dance we get more hot sex but really feel the development of the relationship.
"I'll date you, Violet. I'll do whatever it takes to get you back on my porch, because next time you are there, I won't let you leave."

Finally in Curtains we get them struggling through making their lives work together and trusting each other.

This is a great series with a couple that goes through a lot but comes out strong. I really enjoyed Angelica Chase's writing and look forward to more from her in the future!

I originally read Sexual Awakenings in the serial format and authored by the pen name Angelica Chase – besides being a fantastic story that I loved – it led me to discovering Kate Stewart who I love and is an automatic one-click author for me.

Violet is coming to terms with the failure of her marriage. While her husband has slipped further away, lost in his own sexual affairs, Violet is wanting to explore her own sexuality.

She doesn’t quite know what she wants, but she knows she wants to try it all. When she discovers an online ad, it brings her to the Rabbit Hole, and to Rhys. A man that offers to give her everything she wants as long as she’s willing to adhere to the rules. His rules.

As the story develops, these two share perfect chemistry and Kate Stewart does a fantastic job showcasing that chemistry and tension as she creates this story. Rhys was a hard character to nail down at first, his brash behavior didn’t really allow you to get a feel for his vulnerability that starts to show up as the story plays out. And for Violet, I do admit that I struggled with wanting to slap her a bit at the start but I started to come around to her – reminding myself that this world is new to her and she’s battling with the insecurities of a failed marriage.

Violet grew a lot as a character as the story progresses and although that sassy mouth got her a few punishments along the way, I loved the ease at which she had around Rhys. It was something that you never saw when she interacted with Alex. And Rhys... I loved seeing him have to shed his thick skin and show vulnerability.

It was a real treat to watch these two characters come together and overcome the obstacles in their way. And just as the author started this story off with some serious heat, she ends it on the same note. A great story that I could not put down.

Beyond the erotic nature of this story – Kate Stewart starts to unload the suspense and this erotic romance goes a little dark. If you’ve never seen her dark side, it is a sight to behold! As much as I love her angsty romance, her rom-com... I will always remember her for this story – it’s where it all started for me.

I think Rhys is every womans dream!

Violet is stuck in a loveless marriage. With her husband never home and divorce eminent, she decides to broaden her sexual experiences. Stumbling into The Rabbit Hole, Vi is introduced to what she never knew she always wanted, Rhys.
Rhys is an experienced Dom who is more than willing to show Vi that the lifestyle is so much more than what she's read in her novels. He is the best of both worlds, being both dominant and strong yet compassionate and sweet.
Although still in the marriage for the time being, she jumps head first into this experience.
What happens next are many events that try to prove to Violet that she is stronger than she ever knew...boardering on almost too strong for her own good.
I loved every single second of this book, feeling like I'm living thru them. With that also brings times when you want to reach thru the book and slap everyone upside the back of the head!

One of the best series in erotica! The first book "The Waltz" captivated me and left me wanting more. The second book "The Tango" left me HOT and Bothered and towards the end I was gasping for air! The third book "The Last Dance" left me smiling, heart breaking and then the biggest bomb shell went off that I did not see coming!! The final and forth book "Curtains" was absolutely the best! Just when I think I couldn't love Rhys anymore than I already did, he goes and just makes me MELT!! Lay down your other books ladies and pick this series up because you will not be disappointed! This is not your ordinary Hot, Dominant, Alpha man story. This is about love lost, lust found, lives shattered, people deceived, truth and justice and love found like no other!!

I feel like there is a theme with this author- the main woman is “strong and independent” until she allows herself to be walked over by the man. Like pick which kind of woman you are going to write and stick with that.

DNF. I can’t believe this is the same author of the Ravenhood trilogy because this book is SO BAD. Aside from the extremely minimal plot and terrible characters, the writing is just bad. Bad bad bad. I’m going to try to forget I ever read any of this so I that I can still enjoy her other books.
