I did enjoy this short, sweet story. Low on angst, with instalove and no cheating. A great hero that was not a manwhore and a virgin heroine.

2.5 stars!! I'm not sure what it is but I just don't seem to connect with this author's books. I skimmed quite a bit. Oh well this will probably be the last for me.

This was a sweet & quick read that I really enjoyed.
At 17 Isabelle's been forced to be a responsible adult instead of a typical due to her father and his gambling. One day in the middle of the her dad tells her they have to leave to go stay with a friend, enter Wyatt.
Wyatt and Isabelle instantly click but, he's worried about a secret that only dad knows will destroy any future they have.
I really liked Isabelle and Wyatt together. They both got what they both so desperately needed from the other one.

4/5 a cute little novella

This novella was really good. I'm a sucker for guardian/ward romances and was so excited to find this one! It's sweet (the hero is such a sweetheart!), steamy, and forbidden. The heroine is 17 at the beginning of the book but nothing happens between them until she's 18.

This is short and sweet novella story that I liked. At 17 Isabelle has been forced to become the parent to her father, who has a severe gambling problem. She cooks, works to help with bills and groceries, while all her dad does is gamble. She is at her wits end and Isabella prays for the day that she can be the one cared for instead of the other way around.
Isabelle and her dad are forced to flee into the night because of her dad’s issues with gambling and owing money. They end up on her dad’s friend doorstep and that is when her life changes for the good. Wyatt didn’t expect to see Isabella’s dad on his doorstep but he is reminded of owing them a debt. Wyatt is 10 years older than Isabelle which isn’t a huge difference. At first he didn’t want them there but something about Isabella made him change his mind. He felt this draw towards her –thing is, she isn’t legal yet and he is resisting the urge to take her even though she isn’t legal. Isabella feels the draw towards Wyatt too.
This is such a great novella about taboo feelings, steamy scenes and sweet love. About 80 % of the book there wasn’t any sex scenes but the rest of the book after that, was HOT! I loved Wyatt and Isabella together. They were good together. I do wish I saw how they were months or at least 1 year or so down the road. I like knowing how they were working out. Otherwise, great read.

Isabelle has had a tough life. Losing her mom at a young age and her father never really being there for her when she needs him. She is use to doing things for herself and moving around a lot and that is how she meets Wyatt. Handsome, rich, tall and mysterious, Isabelle is immediately drawn to Wyatt but she knows that he would never look at her the same way. Isabelle doesn't know how to act when someone else wants to care and protect her for a change. Very, very hot!! Great job Ms. Younger, you have done it again!!

Another hit from Lila Younger who is proving to be a very talented author with an incredible imagination. Wyatt was such a sweetheart in this book and I absolutely loved him. Isabelle got dealt a shitty hand in life and had to grow up way to fast thanks to her gambling addict father. Her mother was killed by a drunk driver in a car accident when Isabelle was just five years old. Because of his addiction they lost the house Isabelle grew up in and were forced to move to a crappy apartment. They are now five months behind on their rent and her dad wakes her up and tells her to pack her stuff. He tells her they're going to stay with a friend of his for a while but won't tell her why. Wyatt is surprised when Jerry and his daughter show up at his door late at night but he cannot say no to him. Isabelle is shocked when she sees the beautiful house she'll be living in and even more so when she meets Wyatt. Isabelle hasn't really been interested in boys but the more time she spends with Wyatt the more she wants him. Wyatt is 29 years old, he has his own company developing APPS and video games. He tried fighting his attraction to Isabelle but the more time he spends with her the more he wants her so he's counting down till she turns eighteen. Wyatt has a secret and he carries a ton of guilt but he's afraid if he tells Isabelle she won't want him anymore.

Likes: Heroine was strong and overcame many adversities. Hero was kind and caring individual.
Dislikes: The confusion about their age difference. If she is 17 and he's 29 that means that there is a 12 year difference and not 10 or less in which the author wrongly stated several times.
Plus the romance between the two seemed rushed and they begin saying, "I love you," before they really got to know one another.
Would I recommend this book? I suppose if you are looking for a quick read without any meat and potatoes then, yes.

"His V¡rgin Ward" is a 62-page novella. Wyatt opens his home and wealth up to his friend and his friend's soon-to-be 18-year-old daughter. He provides Isabelle with everything she could ever want, but his connection to her family is a secret he holds. He is unsure how she would feel about him after she learns the truth.
Some readers will appreciate that nothing happens to Isabelle until she turns 18––not even subtle touches or kisses. Wyatt waits. The spice is good.

He's Not a Jerk, But the Plot, Does
The setup is a bit unconventional for modern times, and that might account for the jerkiness of the exposition. It's as if the author wanted to write this trope and set in in the present, but wasn't quite sure how to go about making it believable. The characters are mostly likeable, and that's plenty to get through to the end.

Actually 3.5 stars.
Really nice read. Not much drama, thankfully. A few really hot moments. Lovable main characters. Wyatt was sexy and sweet.
I'm probably a weirdo, but the fact that initially Isabelle is only 17 (18 in a few months) when he started having feelings and lusty thoughts about her, added to the hotness. I'll probably go to Hell, but...oh well, I'll be in good company I'm sure.

Sweet Romance story.
I loved how this was a quick story but managed to build a good solid background. I didn't feel like I missed out. I loved how they were together and so happy they got together in the end.

It was short sweet with the right amount of sexy I loved Isabelle and Wyatt I loved the story even when I wanted to smack her dad, I kind of thought the issue with her dad was unresolved though, another excellent story Lila can't wait to read more!

Lila has become one of my top favorite authors. She really knows how to draw her reader in and keep them glued to the end. The tenderness, the love, the exquisite passionate steamy sex scenes melt you into goo. Each book of hers, I read is better than the last, yet every one is excellent.

I was caught totally off guard by ” His Virgin Ward” and the depth of emotion felt toward both main characters. I absolutely adored this new novel from Lila younger, I love these short books that pack a punch and really get into the story straight away.
I really liked Isabelle and for what she had to deal with, with her father and living to just to survive. Once her father puts them in danger he takes them to the place to where he thinks best.
Wyatt lives alone and because of his past he believes that he doesn't deserve happiness and it was actually sad to read that a man would feel that way.
I really loved this story, if your looking for some Insta love, a really great story and of course some hot sexy times then you won't be disappointed at all, this one pulled at your heart strings and was a beautiful read.
