About the author

Charles Grandison Finney was a leader in the Second Great Awakening. He has been called The Father of Modern Revivalism. Finney was best known as an innovative revivalist, an opponent of Old School Presbyterian theology, an advocate of Christian perfectionism, a pioneer in social reforms in favor of women and blacks, a religious writer, and president at Oberlin College.

He is not to be mistaken for his great-grandson, Charles G. Finney (1905-1984).

Reading authors outside your "tribe" from time to time is important. This book had many encouragements, but was poorly organized (being mostly a hodgepodge collection from sermons) and contained some very bewildering concepts.

i thought this book would be about how to conduct a revival; i. e. the nuts and bolts. instead i learned revival must start with self before anyone else will experience revival through your ministry

Great book on how to experience revival. I am praying for revival and spiritual awakening for America, but you can experience personal revival anytime you want
