Undisclosed Desire #2

The Sheriff's Heart

Rate this book
Sheriff Blake Powers has more secrets than any man of the law should. The most important one is his deputy and lover, Astrid Daniels, who's disappeared. The only thing standing between him bringing her back into his arms is the rest of his secrets and his family. The extremely wealthy Powers have run an empire for four generations and don't consider beautiful women who aren't Italian-born and blue-blooded as marriage material. They don't consider them as anything, and they're tired of waiting for Blake to take his place amongst them as a tycoon who'll carry on the Powers' prestige and privileged way of life into the next generation. Astrid carries her own secret that will rock all of the connected families' worlds; the Owens, Nordic-Ford's, and the Powers the most. But just when all the secrets are exposed, Blake and Astrid will suffer a monumental setback that will give the Powers exactly what they want—access to Blake's loyalty again that may tear him and Astrid apart... forever. How far will the Powers go to convince Blake that he's always been one of them? And to push Astrid out his life for good?

My Thoughts...

Good story that deals with Blake's and Astrid's story. The characters were simply off the chart well done...developed, portrayed giving this story one that you will not want to put down and at the end wanting more. Truly this was a family...'The Owens' [this hilarious group] that you will not want to mess with as they excepted Astrid into their fold because of their love for Blake. After the amnesia story line and the Power's entering back into the picture along with Cameron [a cousin], now how will this play out for Blake and Astrid? Will their be a change in the way Blake sees his birth parents? "How far will the Powers go to convince Blake that he's always been one of them? And to push Astrid out his life for good?" To get these questions answered and so much more the reader will just have to pick up this good read to see how it will turn out. Be ready to expect from a humorous to a heartwarming family read.

It's All About Family!!!

Blake and Astrid story was downright hilarious and very entertaining to read. I love the way the Owens excepted Astrid into their fold because of Blake. I'm glad that Blake is trying to rebuild his relationship with his mom and dad. I hope this story is continued with Cameron, I would love to see if he can win over Amari.

Families of choice are just as valuable!

To his heart and soul, Blake's family of choice was more of a family to him than his dysfunctional birth family whose values were skewed towards money and power. The same money and power that neglected him and caused the Owen's family to adopt and raise him when his own mother and father were too busy traveling the world and running their family business, the same business they wanted Blake to drop his life and run. Afterall, he was their heir.

Blake was so embarrassed by his mother and father that he hid them from the love of his life Astrid. His not opening up to her caused her to retreat and run because she thought she was not worthy of him or he did not care for her the way she loved him. But, when she showed up 6 months later in the family way, he was determined to do what was necessary to keep her and their child.

This was an enjoyable love story to read. It started off a little slow and did not keep my attention until Blake was hurt. Uncle Tommy was a trip and funny as hell. Blake's mother really had the perfect nickname. It will be interesting to read how Camron will win his lady love. He has a lot to learn.

The Sheriff's Heart!

"Something unfurls in the pit of my stomach. It doesn’t take long to recognize it’s a ball of stress unwinding slowly. I no longer have to wait to go to her. She’s come to me. The situation could have happened under better settings though, and she didn’t have to leave because she’s pregnant. It’s just more incentive to get my shit together. “So Astrid’s her first name,” my sister snipes, completely pissy now. “It’s pretty by the way. She got a last one?”

Seems like Blake got his stomach, head and heart all settled in a week or less, unless I missed something in this mind boggling story! Craziness seems to follow all who come in contact with the Owens family! Read and see if you agree!

Book 2 got better

However, the writer could use a better editor. I loved Astrid, with her spunky attitude (telling off dragon lady Ashley Powers and I died when she told Blake's dad he needs to make her eat a sandwich), she most certainly is perfect for Blake. And she fit right in with the Owen's clan too. Looking forward to the wedding of Astrid and Blake and cannot wait ti see if Amari has as much spunk as her to give Cameron exactly what is uptight stuck on himself needs.

Talk about family dynamics....

I really enjoyed this book and absolutely loved that Apollo and Mylisa were in more of the story instead of just one section where they are mentioned. It made me feel like they were more involved in each other's lives and really as close as they were. The on,y other thing I would have liked was to see Blake's interaction with the Owen's at the end also. I really enjoyed this story.

Wonderful story!

Blake adopted family is hilarious. I wanted an update on Malisa and Apollo. I really didn't like Ashley. She is such a hypocrite. She call herself making demands and expecting that Blake was going to fold. She actually got what she deserved in the end. Astrid is made for Blake. His adopted family made her feel like part of the family.

Hey!!!!

Loved this story but.....what happened with the triplets????? Everybody knows multiples are always early. They should have been born (and doly noted in this book) before Blake Jr. I'm just saying!!!!

Potential

Was a good read. Not great. I hate that it was a cliffhanger. Will read the next book. Hopefully that one won't be a cliffhanger. I'm also interested in Cameron's story.

My favorite family

This family's love and protection for each other is everything in this book. The characters that were fortunate to have love cherished each other. Great job, Falon.

Interesting...

I didn't think I was going to like this story after finding out that Astrid was a doppelganger for Malisa as I thought she would be viewed as his substitute, but that wasn't the case. Ashley is a piece of work!!! Open ended ending and I am assuming the next story will revolve around the arrogant Camron and Amari.

Second chance

I enjoyed reading Blake and Astrid's story. They got back together rather quickly in spite of their being apart and Astrid showing up pregnant. Sex in the bathroom...SMH. I think the whole amnesia storyline could have played out better. It was resolved really quickly, the evil parent should have had more of an impact. I wasn't really a fan of the ending felt like Blake completely changed. I think the Owens are hilarious. It was also nice to get an update on Malisa and Apollo. Overall a good read. I wonder if there will be more books in this series. Is Camron next?????

This is my review and how I see it. In Undisclosed Desire 2: The Sheriff"s Heart, while the book was longer than the previous one, it began with the setting up of MaLisa's and Apollo's wedding and MaLisa is now about 8 months pregnant with triplets. This is Blake's story, but it lacked the drama I expected by reading the summary. Actually, this book left me with a few questions of my own that were not, for me, answered in this book.

Such as:
What was the secret that Astrid carried that would rock the connected families?

What secrets were exposed?

The author did explore what was true in Blake's heart, but how the parents were described in both books just did not come through for me on this one.

This is my review and how I see it.

Heart aches

This is a very good read. I love the Owen's family. They are too darn funny and very loyal to family .

I also enjoy the H/h in this story. They both are very strong people. They both started a relationship without discussing what they wAnted and didn't know much about each other.
