It also explains how you can use the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the Communications Decency Act to protect yourself from liability for user-provided content. The book also explains how to license music and other kinds of content for use on your website, with detailed information to help you determine what kind(s) of license you may need, whether you will need to pay a royalty or other fees, and if so, how much. Complete with forms, resource directory, and quick-reference charts to help you navigate the hazardous waters of Internet law. Written by an attorney.
Really excellent resource for anyone who has a website of any sort.
It covers the basics of copyright for text, photos, music, and video and several other things, which I didn't even know were protected by copyright. It has info about Trademarks, defamation, and hate speech too. Lots of other subjects.
It has a section about licensing and doing copyright research. It lists a lot of resources and the appendixes would be nice to have by themselves.
Pretty easy to understand too. You don't have to be highly educated to find it useful.
