I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book is full of really good advice about what to consider before you go ahead with acquiring a puppy. The first few chapters outline the demands on your time / lifestyle a puppy and adult dog will make. The main part of the book looks at twenty popular breeds of dog and considers their particular characteristics and needs. Most importantly, the author discusses health issues prevalent in individual breeds and outlines the health tests and scores a prospective puppy owner should ask a breeder about.
The book is set out clearly, with headings and colour-coded tabs at the edge of each page to enable the reader to flick through to find a section easily.
I enjoyed reading this book and, even though I am an experienced dog owner, found new information about breeds I haven't owned.
