THE DIAMOND CLUB: Where Secrets are Sacred and Diamonds are Currency.

I grew up believing I was invincible and feared no one. Named after my grandfather, Duncan Lockhart, I found my true calling as a young boy after discovering my first diamond in the Mine ran by my grandmother.  Not all finds are legal, some are lethal--all are exhilarating.

Everything I desired, I obtained. Every heist I attempted, I succeeded. The end of my name said it all...can...until I met Kate Richards.

***

I met Duncan at the beach one early spring morning, while trying to add another piece of beautiful sea glass to my collection. Charming, gorgeous and intensely private, he was irresistible. After a whirlwind month with him, I often felt he was out of league, but that didn't stop our chemistry. It would take being kidnapped and tied up with a gun to my heat to make me choose another life--one that didn't belong to either of us. One that mattered more than the culmination of both of us.

One last heist, one last debt to pay, one new life to live.

It is clear that the author can write a good book and parts of this really drew me in. However overall I struggled to connect with the two main characters and the whole thing felt very rushed. The book is very short - it definitely took less than two hours to read (there was a bonus book at 50% in my copy) and I felt like this limited the opportunity to develop the story and the characters. Too often it felt like chunks of the story were missing.

I liked Duncan and Kate but I just didn't connect with them. I also felt that there wasn't enough of an emotional connection between Kate and Duncan. We were told of an intense love between them but never experienced it. Their romance had occurred in the past and we didn't even get flashbacks to it. The scenes with both of them in were too few, so this also limited our ability to see them interact and therefore to believe in their relationship.

The suspense side of the story was very good and I really enjoyed the interactions between Duncan and Bono. The scenes where Duncan was preparing to enter Marco's house, and the resulting scenes with Bono really drew me in. At this point the pace was good and I felt like we were really seeing and getting to know some good characters.

The quality and style of writing was good and I would read a longer book by the author. I appreciate short books make it difficult to tell a full story and this was just too short.

Diamonds are a girl's best friend, at least that's what they say but it wasn't true for Kate, since diamonds are why she isn't with the love of her life. This story as with all of this author's book is much too short. We don't get enough of her characters to really connect even though we do still get a good story filled with action and suspense and some tender moments. This author is so good at developing stories that we still are able to enjoy her skills when we get to the last page and are sad that it's done.

Good story and plot, and as much as we get of them good characters I just wanted more of them (like I always do). Loving the Diamond Club so far can't wait to read more books from the collection.

Another great story from The Diamond Club
This one would actually have made an even better full-length novel
Duncan retired years ago - he gave it all up for the one thing that meant more to him than all the diamonds in the world
Kate walked away from the glitz and the sand - she made her choice what she held within was worth more to her than all the diamonds in the world
Years pass -life moves on -
till someone decides they want back what is theirs -
and we all know when it comes to recovering something that you hold dear - no price is too steep - no sin to dark to ensure its recovery

Another fun addition to the Diamond Club series, a must read.

This addition to the Diamond Club series is a fast reading suspense filled short story. I have to agree with another reviewer that it would have been a better read if it were longer allowing for more backstory on the main characters. I enjoyed the relationship between Duncan and Kate and the lengths he went through for her. I can recommend this read to all as an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon with enjoyable characters.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for voluntary review consideration.

I thought the author did a great job setting up the scene and getting the reader invested in the characters. Though if it were longer it would be better overall for the backstory and more investment on my part. I thought it was slightly rushed, but overall I enjoyed the story and am liking this series theme!

Mine by Abbie St. Claire is part of The Diamond Club Series. An engaging romantic suspense novella that was good but I felt suffered by the shorter length. Compelling characters and an interesting story made for a good read. Duncan and Kate were a great couple with amazing chemistry. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.

A great short read. Loved the characters and their connection. Even time couldn't diminish it. A real page turner. I was hooked from page one. Duncan, Kate, and Tate were too cute together. A sweet romance with some suspense thrown in.

A good read, though could have been a bit longer if the characters were a little more fleshed out.
With twists and turns, drama and betrayal, it has a little of everything.
