Kai shares that passion but the question is, does Basil? The Norwegian polar bear shifter doesn't know this town like she does, and his ideas are as awful as his body is alluring. He wants to give her his meat sword, literally... Nordic shifter Basil Scoville is the delta of his polar clan, but that doesn't mean he is any less of a Viking than his older siblings. After all, he is a Scoville, and he has traveled the reaches of the earth to sample its spices and its women...but he has never had anything as spicy as Kai or the cayenne garlic sauce their siblings are busy brewing. The sauce can be bottled, but can Basil bottle up his feelings for the curvy, sassy, charismatic BBW? Basil is in Texas to work, not play, but, you know what they say about all work and no play.... Can they handle the heat, or do they need to get out of the kitchen? Worldly Basil can't understand how Cayenne can't appreciate his taste for the exotic. Cayenne can't get it into Basil's thick polar bear skull that the people of Bright Star County don't want wagyu beef and Iberian ham. The opening night of the restaurant seems to be a bust, but, can they salvage the company's reputation, as well as the chemistry between them? Will word of the restaurant spread like wildfire, or is it already on thin ice? Will the restaurant get a five star review, or is this relationship going to earn two big thumbs down? The Feminine Mesquite is a five book series featuring the five curvy Quincy Sisters and the five alpha male polar bear shifters who are the heirs to the Scoville fortune. Can the ten heirs learn to get along, and will they find comfort in each other’s arms...or in each other’s beds? Each book is at least 25,000 words long, comprising a full-length novella. There are no cliffhangers, and every book ends with a guaranteed happily ever after (after all, these are fairy tales). These fairy tale romances feature everything you love from a bear shifter romance. Each book is a standalone, however, there is an overarching story. Don’t if you haven’t read preceding book in the series, a short recap will be included in the first part of each book to get you up to speed...and you’ll want to read all five books because the last book’s epilogue features --, wait, why am I telling you? You’re going to need to read them all and find out for yourself! Please note that although this title is based on "The Little Matchstick Girl" by Hans Christian Andersen, this fairy tale romance has a happy ending and is only related to that fairy tale thematically.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!! And I bought my own copy already!

This is the 4th book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content! While it is not mandatory for you to read them all in order, it is more awesome experience for you as a reader with richer characters if you read them in order!

This is Kai and Basil’s story! Of course there are judgements and misconceptions galore. Kai is a workaholic and full of attitude. Basil seems like a cocky jerk, but he proves himself sweet as a teddy bear especially when he is trying to protect Kai. I loved this story!

I highly recommend to all book lovers who love Sable and her polars!!

This is Basil and Cayenne’s story . If you want to fall in love , laugh and worry then yes pick this up !! You just gotta love the way these two tried so hard to everything on their own but had to learn some hard lessons about working together ! I think one of the best parts for me was when Cayenne was giving out samples and fell asleep . ( don't want to say more just a hint of the good stuff in this story ! ) This is well written and I recommend this to everyone .

When Basil steps up to take Cayenne’s place at the Bear Bunn’s club saving her from embarrassment me gets her attention for the first time. Up until then she thought him heartless and unfeeling. Now she began to see him as a person that cared about someone other than himself. Cayenne was thinking this summer might prove to be a bit different after all. When she realizes that she and Basil must come up with an idea for the restaurant her family wants to open to feature their hot sauces the summer might just turn into a battle ground. Can Cayenne and Basil learn to work together to create a unique restaurant or will the venture fail? It seems it is all up to this hot polar shifter and the workaholic Cayenne to discover some things they never knew about restaurants, their attraction to each other and what love is about.

You would think that the stories would get a little predictable and in a sense they do but always with a twist to the story which makes it worth reading. I'm so sorry I finished this series but I heard they continue on in another series so it will be great to see how they're doing and meet some new characters! I thoroughly enjoyed this series and look forward to some new ones especially the Bear Buns!! Sounds yummy!!

I really enjoyed reading about Basil, Cayenne, not as much unfortunately. There was just something about her that I couldn’t connect with but I loved her stubbornness as well as Basil’s. I loved reading about all the different sides he had to his character. It was enjoyable for the most part.

When Cayenne 'Kai' Quincy and Basil Scoville are assigned to organize and open the family restaurant by their oldest siblings, they find it difficult to get along. Disagreements come between the two when it comes to choosing the type and style of place they want. Will fate bring these two together? Will Basil be able to prove to Kai that hes more than just a pretty face? Will Kai be able to find a way to relax and let others help?

We have come to the headstrong sister and the supposed wanderer brother. I loved learning the Basil wasn't what Kai thought and that he was so much more! I think Basil really brought out another side of Kai and loved his patience. Cannot wait to read the next book with the fire cracker siblings!

I have read all of Sable Sylvan books and each one is unique, sweet, funny, and exciting!. Each book has been a five star plus book!.
With this series it is about five curvy human sister's, and give sexy polar bear shifter brother's. They all lives together, and work plus run the Feminine Mesquite sauce company. So far three of the older sister's Alison "Ally" , Abigail "Abby" and Addison "Addy" have been fated mates to the three older brother's Herbert "Herb", Clove, and Sage. All the older siblings are hoping the two younger pairs are mates to. In fact they hope to give fate a push by pairing the younger ones up in living arrangements and jobs. In this story Cayenne and Basil are fighting their attraction to each other. Will fate pick these two to be mates?. You will love reading about how fate puts two people together no matter how they try to right it!.
Each story is Exciting, Sweet,Funny, and will keep you glued to the pages!. This is a must amazing series you will fall in love with!.

I got this book as an ARC for my honest opinion and review. This is no where close to my first book by Sable. This is the fourth book in the series and we have the fourth pair of siblings.  Kai knows that her education is only being paid for if she comes back and works for the family business. Kai and Basil are assigned to work together to open the company’s first restaurant. She is working hard to do what is asked of her, but Basil wants her to see that she has to live too. The two of them don’t really agree on anything but maybe that there might be something between them.  So will Basil make her see there is more to life or will he flame out?

It´s the 4th book of The Feminine Mesquite - unfortunately I got lost within the first chapters because I couldn´t keep up with who´s who. The book can be read as a standalone, but I´d say reading the first books in the series might be helpful. The writing style couldn´t hold my attention for all chapters. I myself have to read the former books in the series, to revise this review.

You won't be disappointed! Sable Sylvan has done it again!!! She has written a book that this reader could not stop reading once she started!! He Already Knows

An ARC was given to me and I agreed to voluntarily review it. My opinions are my own. This fourth set of siblings going to have to come together and stop fussing at each other. They have a business to start and run. If they stop talking at each other, they may actually come up with a viable concept. This is a fun read. Enjoy I did.

Book 4 in the series.
Cayenne "Kia" Quincy is the second youngest of 5 sisters.
She is the hardworking.
She is determined.
She is a workaholic.
As in, she doesn't know when to quit.
She is a true to her Southern manners.
Even when she doesn't like you.
She is paired with living and working with the second youngest Scoville brother, Basil.
Basil is the most well traveled brother.
He has studied abroad.
He has numerous stories of his travels.
All this means to Kai is that Basil has too much freetime and no concept of work.
These assumptions lead the partners to clash on a constant basis.
They can't have any conversation that ends in equal agreement.
Still, they are forced to get it right by the task given to them by Alice and Herb.
When Kia finally takes the elder siblings advice and works with Basil, the results are better than she could've anticipated.

A enjoyable read, with the traveler Scoville brother and the stubborn Quincy sister. The storyline was entertaining and the characters were likable. Basil and Cayenne surprised me as neither are who you expect them to be, which always adds a bit more intrigue to a story. However I felt at times the story moved a bit fast and could have been a little stronger in places. Nevertheless it was still a enjoyable read.

This was a very enjoyable and entertaining read. I was definitely surprise by Cayenne and Basil neither of them was what you expected them to be which added a lot bit of intrigue to the mixed making for a interesting read. Sexy and full of tasty food! Competition makes the heart grow fonder. It is time for another Scoville and Quincy to pair up, this time it's Basil and Cayenne's "Kai" turn. They are in charge of the soon to open family restaurant and will need to work together to plan it out and get it running, when their ideas clash they will have a cook off to choose. Who will come out the winner, Kai or Basil, and will they learn that together is the only way they can make the restaurant work?

This is the 4th book in The Feminine Mesquite #4 series and continues the story of the Quincy sisters and the Scoville brothers.
Cayenne 'Kai' Quincy is the next to the youngest of the sisters and is very head strong and opinionated. Basil Scoville is also the next to youngest brother who is hard headed has traveled extensively but not for the reasons most young men do.
With trying to build a BBQ sauce company, one sauce at a time, all the siblings were required to work their summers in Texas. Each sibling was paired up with the sibling from the other family who is closest to their age. The Scoville's are Polar Shifters and hope to one day find their gated mates.
I highly recommend this series to one and all. This is a voluntary Arc review.

Trying to decorate, outfit, and decide on a menu means working in close quarters. Basil & Cayenne live to disagree, love to bicker and compete. After struggling to find a common path, an award winning table dance, and teaming up to whip the bullshizz out of a couple of rogue wolf shifters...Cayenne sees Basil in a new sexy light. Things get steamy with a dash of kink as they explore what it means to be fated mates. Such a fun read!

The next match (no pun intended) is about the next brother and sister. Yep, it seems the family is due to stay together forever. Not just automatic, though. She doesn't care for Basil's attitude. He's the cocky, stuck-up rich guy. He travels and enjoys himself, while she works herself to exhaustion. Not exactly a match made in heaven.
When they are forced to work together to start a restaurant as their part of the family business, they argue about the kind of cuisine. Cayenne wants standard Texas BBQ, he wants more upscale. Who wins? Will they be able to make a success? Is there anything that can bring them together?
When a threat forces them to work together to save themselves things begin to change. Can they keep the truce? Does he know more than she does? We slowly get to see inside the feelings of each and some misconceptions. Can those insights bring them together? Cayenne may just have some surprises for Basil.
Another couple down and on to the next. This is a good couple story, lots of interesting information might be better interspersed with dialogue and in little doses. Beware this one is more intense sexually than some other in the series.

Cayenne(Kai) thinks Basil is a globe-trotting snob. How is she ever going to be able to work with him to open the family's new restaurant? Heck, they can't even decide on what food to serve! Will these two learn to work together? I loved this addition to the series. Kai and Basil had a lot to learn about each other and how to compromise. Without giving away any spoilers, if you read carefully there is a vague hint of another possible(maybe) couple. Hopefully we will find out in the next book. I can't wait!

I loved this. This whole series is very well written and is a feel good, fun, exciting and entertaining read. These two are hard headed and think their ideas are the best. Basil Scoville has gone all over the world and traveled for spices and women and he has sampled them all now his family has gotten together with this other one and married some of them and his bear has been telling him to get with her and mate but he wants things done his way no matter what and she is driving him crazy
Cayenne 'Kai' Quincy She is curvy and sassy and she knows the restaurant and the town people of Fallowedirt and she does not need some up start full of himself man that is telling her how to run this restaurant and how to cook no way is he getting to her no way but fate has other plans and she is attracted to him and he is handsome and oh well she does want him right not lol Great exciting funny loving warmth book so good love this series I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
