this book was objectively meh and a money grab to get you to pay for three volumes that could all be combined into one, but goddamn if i won't be swindled in exchange for a beauty and the beast retelling

This is the first part of Lucy and Ciarans story although the ending does come at a convenient and logical place. I do feel however that some readers will feel short changed although my copy was free on kindle so I personally cannot complain.
Essentially we are told that Lucy is aware of the paranormal but unfortunately that's all the information we get about her. Ciaran too is a bit of a mystery although he does kind of explain a little of his situation as the story pans out.
Some readers will enjoy the sexual nature of this couple but I should point out there are perhaps scenes of dubious consent. Whilst Lucy isn't exactly forced she is in a position that I don't think she would have chosen. That being said I thought both of these characters were somewhat adrift and both make mistakes. If honest I think I'd rather have had the whole book instead of just the first part but I do realise that attention span and reading time differs for everyone

Great introduction to this author.

I've not read anything by Juno Blake before, but I did enjoy this.

Lucy is on a trip around Europe. With nothing but her motorcycle, backpack and trusty camera, she embarks on a wondrous adventure.

On a dark, rain filled night, she needs to take shelter, but there's been nothing for miles.
Then she sees it, rising out of the waves, like something out of Brigadoon, a castle.
Needing to shelter from the rain, she clambers over the locked gate and goes in.
The place looks deserted, maybe she can shower, sleep and then get on her way.

Ciaran Mallory has other ideas.
He is a shape shifter.
He believes she's there for another purpose; a pack chaser.

So he's going to give her exactly what he thinks she came for.

Let the game begin....

Ummm… what was that? She knows about supernaturals and still has no common sense about what’s going on?? Also the non consent? What the heck??

Trapped by the Wolf is the first book in the Werewolf Fever series. Before I start talking about the plot, there are some warnings I would like to highlight. First, the book has a cliffhanger. Therefore, I don’t recommend you to start it if you don’t have the rest of the series ready to start it, because you won’t be able to put it down. Second, the novel is very short. In fact, it will take you about 2 hours to finish it. Third and last, this book has quite a dark and sadistic sexual content. If that isn’t your thing, then you might want to walk away from this series.
Now, regarding the plot, I feel it was too rushed at the start. I wish I could know a little more about Lucy and her life before she ran straight into the castle of the werewolf, Ciaran. Honestly, I was very exasperated with the heroine in several moments of the book. She was so driven by desire in most of it and watching her act with no self-respect just pissed me off big time. Nevertheless, I just couldn’t feel mad by the chauvinistic and sadistic tendencies of Ciaran. For some reason, I could see a vulnerable and hurt side of him. A side that longed for more, even if it was in quite a twisted way.
This book was very fast paced, which makes perfect sense since the book is quite short. Also, it is quite filled with a lot of very hot and dark sexual content. It will have you melt and be scared at the same time. Leaving the dark and slightly sadistic content of the novel, I have high expectations for the whole series. In fact, I am hoping for a HEA. I can’t wait to read the next short novel in the series.

Book 1:4 stars
Book 2:2 stars
Book 3:2 stars

Let’s just say the first book in this series has me absolutely drooling, like the sex scenes are so prefectly aligned with my kinks I can’t even begin to describe how turned on I was. Like very very dark beauty and the beast vibes. Definitely some dubious concent and degradation kink so if that’s not your thing then don’t read these books but Ciaran was very demanding and primal and well endowed it was literally so good that even with practically no plot, I’m rating 4 stars out of pure enjoyment factor for myself.

The next two books in the series are definitely more of a letdown. I wouldn’t say they were horrible, they still have a few good sex scenes but Juno Blake tried to give the story much more plot but failed to make Lucy into a fully formed human being in any of the books. As such, in the second and third books I still didn’t know anything about her personality past she likes photography, so I wasn’t really emotionally invested in any of the plot that was written. There’s an attempted rape scene (not by Ciaran) in the second book which drives the plot but because the understanding of the werewolf culture in these books is never discussed the reaction the werewolves have in the third book seems contradictory and confusing.

Overall, it goes from lots of hot sex with dubious consent in the first book to instalove in the second book and a plot that not only isn’t well developed, (there are many holes and unanswered questions) but it’s also just underwhelming for the reader because only one character has even a little bit of depth and that’s Ciaran not Lucy. Read the first book if you want fun kinky sex but I would honestly pass on the other two books in the series.

Very dark shifter romance. My first by this author. Looking forward to the rest in this series, more backstory for Carian and more character development for Lucy. Great book overall. Grabs you right from the start with the detailed descriptions. I received a free copy through an email giveaway. This is a very dark romance, not at all what I expected for a shifter story. Carian Mallory is a reclusive werewolf who lives in a locked castle, hidden away due to his deformity. Lucy Abbotsford is the young woman on an extended photography trek through the countyside who take refuge within the castle one dark and stormy night. Carian believes that Lucy has come to have a bit of fun, that she's a shifter groupie. There is a lot of backstory given to Lucy, but none to Carian, which was disappointing. However, this is only the first book in a 3 part series. Also, the book simply ends awkwardly, which bugs me. The story itself is very intense and sexually charged, but can definitely set off triggers. Carian is extremely dominant and believes Lucy belongs to him and must fight him yet be submissive, so it can be hard to read at times. Hoping the relationship equals out more in the next book. I enjoy a stronger female lead.

This diffently is a wonderfully dark shifter romance story. It's an enjoyable quick read. Lucy is an American photographer traveling all over Europe taking pictures for an exhibit back home. While driving in the rain she sees a Castle hoping to find some warmth and dryness. What she finds is a controlling hot sexy man who she listens to without knowing why. Carian is more than a man and not fully a werewolf. Carian does not listen or believe that Lucy does not know what she is doing there and it's a shame he does not listen to her. He thinks all she wants is to be dominated by him and takes control of her body and mind. This story is very intense as Carian is the dominant and Lucy is the submissive. Lucy is a strong woman and stands up for herself in the end and it breaks Carian as she does. The end is a bit of a cliff hanger, I can't wait to read the other two books in this series. Sure wish it was one book! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This book is not quite what I was expecting. Considering Lucy had already been travelling in Europe by herself and knew the dangers, she sure did not heed any tell-tale signs of danger. While I am not opposed to violence, I am not into BDSM or a man that doesn't even listen to what is said. This is definitely a Fifty Shades of something type story. Having said that, I still couldn't put it down. I had to find out what happened. Even though I'm not fond of the darker elements of the story, I am compelled to find out what happens when she gets home. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Darkness

This is the first book in a trilogy and the conclusion is open ended. An American tourist and photographer is forced from an English road on her motorbike by a torrential rain storm. She takes refuge in a castle the locals didn't mention being nearby, and thinking it's vacant, decides to explore. But as she's about to step into a tub of hot water, a man appears and confronts her. He says he owns the castle and calls her a pack chaser, first taking her body, then taking her captive.
This is a dark, erotic story, that ends unresolved. I won't be continuing with the next two books.

A Caged Werewolf Over 18+ READING

Lucy a young woman traveling though Europe on her cycle runs into very bad weather, freezing temperatures, lonely castle in the middle of nowhere, and a werewolf. Ciaran a werewolf with a beautiful castle that Lucy breaks into to get out of the bad weather. He mistakes her for someone who chases wolves to sleep with them. He does try to protect her from himself on the full moon... she doesn't follow his instructions. She will get away but does she really want to? Future books will tell us.

This is the first book in the Werewolf Fever Series and is the story of Ciaran and Lucy. The book was well written and the characters interesting enough. Lucy a budding photographer has to take shelter from a storm in an old castle and that is where she meets Ciaran. The book is on the dark side and leaves you with a bit of a cliffhanger. The story of Ciaran and Lucy is continued in the next book. i received a reader copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Dangerous but luring at the same time!
A free spirited woman and a caged shifter meet, the intensity of his approach is too much so she flees while he gives her a chance.
But maybe it's too late because they are each others soulmates.

I didn't know this was a book in a series, there's not really a cliffhanger but a promise that the story will continue.

I received a free copy and this is my honest review.

Gripping in more than one way, this dark novella had me. Interesting storyline, good character construction however the book wasn't long enough to really understand what was really happening. Training? Dreams? Groupies? What does it all mean? Fast moving and steam inducing werewolf sex make you really really want to know what is next.
I received this as an arc and am voluntarily presenting my review. Would have given 5 stars if had not been novella.

A fast, suspenseful read!

I love dark books that push limits but normally like a bit more consent than what was in this book. However, I feel like it was well written the way it is all played out. It has a very carnal, raw feeling to the story and I was intrigued. It was a quick read and I finished it in one evening. Somehow I missed that it was going to end with a cliffhanger so I will be looking forward to read what's next.

I don’t think you can go wrong with a supernatural romance, and as much as I think this book is great and it gripped me from start to finish it was simply much too short, I feel like the entire book could have been one chapter because as soon as I really did start to enjoy it and think “What will Lucy do now?” It finished and it left me feeling a little empty and disappointed. Overall this book was everything you would expect a supernatural romance to be, interesting and filthy. 3.5 stars.

First book in the Werewolf Fever series which follows Lucy a tourist who stumbles across a castle in the middle of nowhere. To get out of the storm she enters the castle thinking that its empty. Instead she find the mysterious and brooding Ciaran. This book is very short just over a hundred pages but I know that it is only the first in the series, I got this book very cheap so not that dissapointed with how much I didn’t enjoy it.

Different

This was almost episodic, short, intriguing enough to go to the next. Lucy, is hard to picture in your mind there really is no character description, Ciaran the werewolf is dark, that's it dark... Trigger warning for those of you that need them. This is not dubcon, this is noncon all the way, if that is not your thing do not read this. For me, I am curious enough to get book two...

This book had a cliffhanger ending, which I generally hate.

The hero thought the heroine was a werewolf groupie known as a "pack chaser". So he thinks she knows all about werewolf culture when all she knows is silver is bad for werewolves. A lot of miscommunication in here.

They have some steamy scenes but there is dubious consent. There is a raging rain storm outside and she needed shelter as she is riding a motorcycle.

Really good read. It is fun, enjoyable, suspenseful, alpha male and a female who wants to get away buy yet doesn't. Which makes it exciting. she finds out what happens when you wreck and find shelter with someone who wants to keep her. I recommend it. Really fun. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.

I read this book and although it ended as a cliffhanger, I enjoyed the story. I can't wait to read the next book. The story is different than other paranormal stories that I have read and I liked that it was not so cookie cutter. I would recommend that anyone who likes paranormal stories to read this one.

I read this story not knowing anything about it. And I have to say I did finish it just because I said I would. I wasn't impressed with it. It was a little dark in some areas. Lucy didn't seem like she would be the kind to accept violence and there is some dark area's in this story. I won't read the other books. Just not my cup of tea. Even though the author seemed to write well.

The blurb was very misleading and should have contained warning that this is a short story containing S&M smut.. I would have skipped it altogether had I known. The main character is gifted with only a few braincells and limited self preservation skills. Her lack of common sense was constant wonder throughout the 70 (?) something pages.

I downloaded Trapped by the Wolf as a free ebook from Amazon. Violent, non-consensual (sorta) sex, and a basic storyline (which had a lot of unrealized potential for a full-sized novel)--this erotic offering is well-written, but may not be for everyone. While not exactly a cliffhanger, the ending is open-ended, so the reader feels there is more to come.

Wow

What a dark, twisted book. I hated how it ended because it was so terrifyingly encrossing, I actually found myself feeling sorry for the werewolf and not his victim. What happens next? I have to read Book 2 to find out but first I plan on seeing what else this author has wriiten.
