In Waresville, a haunted tourist trap, there are very few surprises. Vampire attack? Werewolf gang roll into town? That’s just a typical week in the most supernatural town in America. Here, spooky tour buses, magic shops, and haunted houses are on every corner, and it’s an off day when someone doesn’t meet a sticky end. If the chaos stops, the tourism cash stops rolling in. But when a lake monster resurfaces just outside of town and takes a bite out of a dead body, that’s enough to make even these townspeople take notice. Especially Harper Beck, amateur sleuth, witch, and the woman with the bright, green Afro wig. With her friends and her sexy, detective husband, Wyatt Bennett, by her side, Harper thinks she can take on anything. Her theory is about to be put to the test. When her best friend’s ex-husband washes up on shore with a gunshot wound and a chunk missing from him, she snatches up the case. Soon, the mystery unfolds to involve environmentalists, a monster obsessed fisherman, and a whole slew of people who wanted the victim dead. Harper is used to investigating in the seething underbelly of Waresville, but is she ready to take that investigation underwater? With an old enemy’s freedom at stake, she may have no choice but to dive in head first, taking her chances with what lies below. And if Harper isn’t careful, she might end up in the belly of the beast. Novella (approx. 40,000 words). Eleventh Volume of the Harper "Foxxy" Beck Mystery Series. It is a standalone (reading prior or future volumes not required to enjoy the book, no cliffhanger).
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
The secrets of the lake or a sister of the Loch Ness Monster
When Vic's ex comes back it is unpleasant for everyone but when he turns up dead it is far worse. Not only was he shot, thrown into the lake but something had also taken a bite out of him. The main suspect is her least favourite cop but to help her friend and to get justice she agrees to work with him to find the real killer. Is there really a monster in the lake? Had Chris's bed hopping anything to do with him getting killed? As the evidence stacks up she has her work cut out to find anything that could clear him. Can she do so? A good little plot that seems to bear a resemblance to the Loch Ness Monster. Sorry but missed Carter and Vic has really become quite drab.
Witching in the Moonlight Book 11 in the Harper “Foxxy” Beck Series by Raven Snow
Foxxy has her hands full this time. She must decide if she is going to help her enemy Kosher when events place him on the police most wanted list. Now it is all about the who, what, when and where, but the Why is the shocking part. Lots of secrets are unraveled, a love triangle surfaces, but when the water Serpent shows up the show gets deadly. Sound like a lot, well this is mystery at its best. Fast paced, fun, and deadly with Foxxy at her best. Bella Doerres.
Lainswich Witches 10 A war Between Witches by Raven Snow
The creatures just keep turning up ijn this series. Kosher is really in deep when he has to turn to Harper to pull his butt out of prison. That of course leads to a lot of smart remarks and cruel actions on Harpers part of course, like any good frenemy she takes her jollies where she can.
Harper Beck is always going to get in trouble, she just cannot help it and she knows it, that’s not going to stop her from solving Her most difficult case so far and doing it for the man she just hates Kosher.
I have fell in love with these types of cozy witch mysteries. Her name is Harper and she owns a roller rink. The author does great writing describing the characters and story, which flows seamlessly. Great Reading Everyone!
For a witch who doesn't even practice and get in way over her head she sure don't learn anything, she might want to start working on her magic again before it's too late

You would think that by now, after vampires, werewolves and witches, Harper would have run out of magical beings to battle. But there's no end to the weird goings on in Waresville and here comes the lake beast! The beast is pretty frightening, even though it has been named Sabrina, but not necessarily the true culprit this time. I've got to say I'm not so sure I like sharing my name with a scary lake beast, but I'll try not to take it personally! This time Harper finds herself having to work with the one person she least likes spending time with, Kosher. Time is running out for her to solve the crime and possibly save him from losing his badge. From the ending I feel like we could be seeing more of Sabrina in future books. Harper beck books are a great read. I can't wait for new ones to come out. The characters are well meshed and I can see parts of my friends and family in them all. I always read them in one sitting. Keep up the great writing please.
This time it's Foxxy's nemesis who's in trouble, but she doesn't hesitate to help the beleaguered Kosher. A strange mystery is unraveled involving a best friend's ex-husband, Kosher, and even a lake monster. Wyatt is strangely almost absent in this story though and I have to say I missed him.
Face paced exciting another great book in the series In This book we have lake monster crazy environmentalists wacko bare shop owners possible new friendships I never saw coming ex's popping up so all's good
