A little sweet and a little spicy, Nicole R. Locker’s BOSS UNYIELDING is that and then some!
Farren is after her dream job, as a tech geek for a powerful corporation run by Rogan Rayner, pure alpha male, pure hotness and definitely not willing to hire her. Why not? Farren is young, yes, but highly qualified, willing to do whatever is necessary to get her foot in the door. Rogan is just as determined to slam the door in her face.

Dejected, a night out with a friend becomes an even bigger disaster when her longtime boyfriend says he needs “a break.” (Jerk) Sobbing in the pouring rain, her knight in shining armor was the last person she expected to see, but Rogan has a change of heart and hires her as his personal assistant, soaking wet, mascara running down her face and all.

What Farren sees is the hidden human side to the sexiest man she has ever met! Now all she has to do is keep her tongue in her mouth and the drool off her chin and prove he made the right choice. Meanwhile, Rogan is finding this young little spitfire has more than a great body, her mind is brilliant and for him, that is the total package and a big danger sign goes off in his heart.

It was a business trip to Italy that launched a flaming hot night that would bring them both to their knees as they pretend it meant nothing. *wink* You guessed it, love is in the air and they think they are being soooo sly about it, but are they?

Who says computer nerds can’t be sexy? Nicole R. Locker proves that not only are looks and attitude sexy, but so are brains! Has the big, bad CEO met his match in the package of the fair Ms. Fields? Has Farren’s Dream Job become a dream come true? Get ready to smile all the way through as Ms. Locker takes us on a sweet trip down Lover’s Lane in the age of computers!

Who doesn't love a little forbidden office romance? Especially when the hunka-hunka boss man-candy is as appealing as Rogan Rayner? Computer programming never looked sexier, I can tell you that! Muscles, tattoos, glasses, and intellect? Where can I get me one? (Just kidding, I found mine a long time ago *wink*)

For a relatively short read (150 pages) there sure is a lot packed inside! These characters have so much depth! It would've been easy to write a story about Farren and Rogan, with plenty of steam, and just left it at that. But Ms. locker treats us to so much more. This story has substance! Yes it's steamy. Yes it's sassy. Yes there's angst and a HEA. But in between there's just so much driving these characters! The backstory we are provided as the tale unfolds is truly satisfying.

Grab this one right now, curl up and enjoy the ride.

Boss Unyielding is one of those quick addictive reads that you’ll want to – and probably will – complete in one sitting. It’s short and to the point, delivering the kind of story that keeps you hooked throughout. Note, although I gave this a four star rating, it isn’t quite a full four stars from me. It is close enough that I had to round up my rating, but I’ll explain later in my review why I feel as though it fell just short of being a solid four star read.

From the first page, I was pulled into this story. It is a story that has been done many times – older attractive head of a big company – but it is one that never grows old. It works for a reason, and if done correctly it leads to a wonderful story. This one is wonderful in that it leaves us waiting, we slowly watch as our characters battle their desires, before one night leads to everything changing. There really was such wonderful build up: both our characters were interesting, the chemistry between them was wonderful to read, and watching as their feelings changed and were slowly shown was a lot of fun.

Despite being such a short read, this one felt like a slow burner. Slow burning romances are my favourites, and I especially love it when short stories manage a steady pace in regards to the romance. Oh, the attraction was there from the start, but watching everything come together was wonderful. Oftentimes, these stories can be a case of characters jumping into bed together after a day, but this one moves us at a steady rate before the characters get together.

As you would expect with any enjoyable book in this genre, there is more to it than a simple office romance. There’s something more, something deeper, that begs to be explained. Whilst I enjoyed this aspect of the story, this is what I felt somewhat let down by. It was such an interesting addition to the story, yet I felt as though I wasn’t given all of the information. I was left with questions regarding specifics, questions I would have liked to be answered. It was an enjoyable way to add something more to the book, I cannot deny that, but I feel as though it wasn’t as developed as the rest of the story. I would be fine with these questions hanging, if I felt like they were going to be answered; however, as the story was brought to a conclusion, I feel as though the question surrounding this book will just be hanging in the air.

Overall, though, it was an enjoyable read. I was addicted throughout, and I’m certainly interested in giving the author’s other work a read.

I really enjoyed this ook. Yes it's a rich boss book but it was really well written. I read it in a single sitting, couldn't put it down. I'm definately a Nicole R Locker fan now.

This is the story of Farran and Rogan. He owns an information technology company which has been Farran's dream employer since she was a teenager. She is interviewed for a position by Rogan, who rejects her. In the hours following her boyfriend also rejects her making for a really bad day.

Rogan changes his mind, gives her a different position with better opportunity for her to Excell but where she will be working closely with him. There's a trip to Italy, office sabotage and a secret baby. Read the book to find out.

BOSS UNYIELDING
By Nicole Locker

This book was a sweet surprise that had enough twists to the plot that I always enjoyed turning the page. The heroine, Farren, was a smart, feisty young woman who had the brains to be successful in the field of robotics and technology. Her boss, and love interest, admired her brains just as much as her body. These facts alone made the book different and fun to read. The editing was well done and the story line was tight and well thought out. Her main characters are complex and realistic. I will certainly enjoy reading more books from this author.

Delightful office romance. Rogan is the boss of a technology company. Farren is hired to be his personal assistant. Whenever their hands touch, sparks fly but they each keep their lustful thoughts to themselves. However, business events keep pushing them together and in time, feelings are expressed. Corporate betrayal tests Rohan's patience and Farren has to face her fears and insecurities. The story flows smoothly and realistically, characters are relatable and endearing. Farren was a smart woman, and I liked that about her. Her boss, Rogan, also really appreciated her intelligence and tech savvy brain, and I also liked that he wanted her more for her abilities than just her body. Boss Unyielding is the first book by Nicole R. Locker that I've read, and I enjoyed it very much. There were a few steamy scenes in this book, but it was more about the build-up to the romance, as well as the intrigue and plot twists. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

***4 Stars***

I am pleasantly surprised by this book! It wasn’t too over the top and the characters are great.

Farren (I love this name by the way!) is a recent college graduate who aspires to get a job at Rogan Rayner’s company. She has set her sights on this company for as long as she can remember. She finally gets the interview but is shot down by Rogan immediately. Farren agrees to drinks with her bestie Shea after being shot down and to make matters worse, her boyfriend breaks up with her. She is having a moment outside the bar where Rogan sees and basically tells her to not cry because she didn’t get the job and Farren makes it clear for Rogan to get over himself and that she has other issues to be as upset as she is. After this, Rogan has a change of heart and offers Farren a job within his company in a different position from what she has applied for.

From here we see Farren and Rogan relationship progress and it was not insta love that we usually see in other books similar to this one. They are both attracted to each other but they keep their relationship strictly professional. They eventually succumb to their attraction one night while on a business trip in Italy and this one night changes everything for Farren. There are other players in the book that I would have liked to get more background information on Elaina and Dallas and find out what really happened to Craigan, but those were left unanswered and we can only assume what really happened between them. This a standalone book and we do have a HEA.

Overall, this was a really nice read. Perfect to read by the pool or on a beach with a drink in hand. You won’t be disappointed!

Another older man, younger girl romance. Another boss, forbidden employee relationship. This one is great with a few new twists. Farren has dreamed of working for Rayner Technologies since high school and she's been determined to achieve her dream. Will her dream be crushed by her desires for her off limits boss? Lots of drama, passion, suspense and chemistry that's off the charts. A fun easy read that is well written with great characters. I received a free copy of this book during a promotion and voluntarily chose to review it.

This is the first time I read a book by Nicole Locker and I have to say this is an excellent story. It is extremely well written and a beautiful flow to it. I loved the characters Farren and Rogan because they have great chemistry and you can feel it when you read it. The characters development is superb and have excellent feel to them. They don't feel under developed at all. There is a little drama, a little suspense, and of course hot romance. You can feel the love that was put into writing this book. This is definitely worth reading for people who love hot romances. I will definitely be reading another story by Nicole Locker. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.

My favorite kind of book....the taboo of a boss/employee relationship, surprise baby, corporate espionage and he said she said...I mean it can't get any better than this! This story will keep you invested until the the very last page, it makes you smile, giggle, laugh, sigh and fan your face vigorously and then cheer at the happily ever after that these characters so richly deserve. I can't wait to read more from Ms. Locker! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This was my first book by Nicole Locker and won't be my last. This was a delightful office romance, with a dash of secret baby near the end.

The story focuses on the developing feelings between Farren and Rogan. Both are tech geeks, and also a little unique for being attractive. Farren has abandonment issues from childhood that are mostly hinted at and not developed much. Because of the lack of reliable people in her life, she believes in technology and science. She loves what she does, and is independent. I liked her. Rogan is a little older, and is your stereotypical brooding, mercurial, mysterious boss. You don't see as much from his perspective, just enough to know he's been lusting from the start, and slowly as he gets to know her, his opinion of her changes. He also has some background that is only hinted at that I would've liked more info about, as well as a little more resolution/discussion between them about their issues. There is obvious chemistry between them, and I enjoyed seeing the two hint at their growing feelings, but not giving in for some time. It was refreshing to see them wait.

Overall, I recommend this book! I enjoyed it the office romance immensely, and the secret baby aspect didn't annoy me as much as it has previously. Really, it was just the lack of background and resolution relating to it that bugged me most. The story is well-written with very few grammar mistakes and has great pacing throughout. I have read a few office romance stories in my time, and this is definitely in my top ten. If you like office romance or a secret baby romance, then I highly recommend this book! I also recently found out that this ending was just a happy for now. The story continues/finishes with a novella that is coming out soon.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from Quill and Ink reviews. This is my honest and voluntary review of the book.

This is the first book that I have read by the author and what an enjoyable read it is. Farren Fields has always wanted to work for Rayner Technologies. Making it through the initial interview takes her to meet the man himself – Rogan Rayner. Unfortunately he nixes the idea of her getting the job. Later that evening, she is standing outside of a bar after being dumped by her boyfriend and runs into Rogan. Needless to say, she receives a message stating that she starts her new job on Monday. Working together is a challenge as they are both attracted to one another but they don’t act on it until they are off to Italy on business. However upon their return, Farren acts as if nothing happened between the two of them and is stunned to find out she is pregnant. Will she tell Rogan the truth? How will he react? Will Farren get her happily ever after? This is a well written storyline that flows nicely with some intrigue and lust thrown in. I look forward to reading more by this author.

What a difference a story can make when you aren't looking. I voluntarily read this ARC and have to admit I ran the gamut of emotions one can run to reach a HEA. Rogan and Farren were definitely an unlikely pair, but they proved to have more in common than expected. Business wasn't the only thing shared. One little trip to Italy had Rogan finally cave, and then like a wall being dropped Farren decided she couldn't compete with the women that usually frequented his life. What a ride these two will take you on, and that doesn't even touch on the bad guy in the script. You are going to love it as I was sceptical when I first saw "office romance with a baby" involved. Because I volunteered I felt I had to give it a chance. I'm very glad I did since it really has a story to it. Very nicely done Locker!

This is my first Nicole R. Locker's book and this won't be the last. I like the two main characters, Rogan and Farren. I like to have the point of view of the two of them. I also like Farren's Grandma and Shea, her best friend. This is a short story with a strong woman and a strong and protective man. There are heartwarming and steamy moments and a little suspense. I think the second book will fill the blanks to help us to well understand what happened in the past and I can't wait to read/listen to it. The narration isn't the best I had experienced, Elizabeth Tebb's voice isn't bad, but the sound quality isn't really good. I think it will better in book 2. Also, there is a little blank in the narration near the end of chapter 16, but since I read/listen, I haven't lost anything. Overall, I really appreciated this story.

Great sexual tension, Clever, layered characters

I typically don't read much contemporary romance because normally many storylines don't keep me interested. However, there's well-written, multifaceted characters that kept the pages turning. I liked the brooding, intelligent character of Rogan and there was so much to wonder with his past. From his extravagant playboy to concerned, yet tempted mentor to our ingénue heroine, Farren, he definitely kept me intrigued. However, that wasn't completely sated after the book was completed. Lucky for me, there's a sequel 😜 This is my first novel from Nicole and I find her writing stylish and very clever, keeping the pacing moving with eagerness as we cross our fingers for everything to work out!

Tasteful, sensual and engaging
Farren is funny, sexy and wait for it - she has a brain and she knows how to use it!!
Rogan is a bit bi polar when it comes to Farren (which is sweet as heck) He runs his company and his life with a firm hand - a bit of a playboy
Terrific supporting cast - I look forward to their stories
Older man younger woman office romance - HEA

Overall, this book is good- I like the story overall. 1 smart girl who gets her dreams crushed by a hottie could be boss, then gets dumped in the same day. Hottie boss then decides to hire her for "special projects". They both find each other attractive, but don't act on it out of professionalism.

The writing was good, and pretty good character development. I liked the emotion by the characters; I really felt what Farren was feeling and I could definitely understand the attraction wasn't just purely physical between them.

I feel the author skipped important things like personal history shared between the characters, and lots of back story on each character- we never found out much of anything about Ronan's past and the reader missed out on some emotional milestones at the end of the story. But if you're into an office romance with a couple steamy sex scenes thrown in, and great emotional ups and downs, then this is a nice read.

I received an ARC for my review of this book.

I was hooked from the first chapter. The combination of a vulnerable, intelligent, beautiful female lead, and charismatic, sexy, macho boss, made for an addictive page -turner. The plot was fast-paced with quite a few twists and turns. All in all, it was a steamy, fun romance. I received a free copy, but voluntarily reviewed.
