"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."
I really enjoyed these stories - they were all similar in a way that showed that the author has a distinct writing style and obviously had thematic similarities (because they're all military romances), but they were also very different from each other. I didn't like the narrators voice at first, but found that I enjoyed it more when I listened at 1.25 speed. I thought that I might get bored listening to over 40 hours of the same genre from the same author, but I really did enjoy it from beginning to end. It's definitely well worth a credit!
I enjoyed all seven stories in this bundle but there are definite differences between stories and the narration quality.
The narration if 4-5 starts for most of the stories, but only 1 star for Uniformed Love Story, the character voices were a problem and so as the overall delivery. This wasn't an issue with the other stories.
Actually Uniformed Love Triangle was my least favorite story in the bundle but it's still a 4 star story. I love Kathleen's writing, it's impossible for me to not get emotionally invested, I listened to these with a box of tissues and it has needed, but I also laughed out loud many times and 'gripped the edge of my seat' at other times.
Generally speaking the lead female characters have lots of internal strength, are intelligent and have an amazing capacity for forgiveness. The men are generally intelligent but emotionally stupid, but they grow emotionally through the story and realise their mistakes, if we all did that we'd live in a better world.
Sometimes frustrating ('no don't do that') but always entertaining this in a bundle that will keep you entertained for days if not weeks (it is after all a long one).
This book was supplied free by the author/narrator/publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
All these men in this collection of stories either suffer from PTSD or some other form of abuse. There are interesting reading. The first story is About a guitar player Lucas Caswell aka Cas who falls in love with a Doctor who is also a Lieutenant. She is Ashton Steele. This next one is IN THE PLACE WE BOTH LOVE - Is the Air Force one when it turns to NASA and astronauts. The Air Force Colonel William Shepard falls in love with Sergeant Serena Mills. SAVING SARAH - Sarah is a Doctor deep in the jungle. Michael is the leader of the Seal team sent in to retrieve her. Another story has Violet who goes by the name Vy. She is basically held captive down in South American by one of the drug lords Ian who was originally her boyfriend. A group of Seals come to destroy the compound but unforseen circumstances causes the Seal team leader Lieutenant Caleb to get hurt and separated from his men. Vy sees this and helps him. UNIFORMED LOVE - Is Colonel Devon who is still in active duty falls in love with a neighbor Jade.
First of all, the author needs to learn how to write blurbs. I liked the first 2 books in this set all right; they were 3-1/2 star books each. But the second and third books in this set, I skimmed through and didn't care for at all, as they were totally different from the first two. Then with the last two, the author seemed to change back towards the pattern of the first two books, but they never caught with me and I skimmed through them.
The first two books are good, and I liked them. If the rest of the books in the set had been up to par of the first two, it would have been an awesome box set. But they weren't. They were just so-so.
I have to say I really didn’t like this style of writing. Most of the books were really good, but two of them was just plain and I got mad at the two characters in the second to last book.
I hated how the characters fought each other, physical and emotional. I didn’t like how the main male character hit and try to rape the woman character. She still love him and took back him even after she caught him cheating on her.
I do believe this new writer will come to her own writing before she release her book.
7 amazing books for a low price, who could pass that up?? Most certainly not me. I love the first book I read of Miss. Kathleen Hope's and I loved every book in this set. I can't say which is my favorite because they were all so good. I hope you enjoy! Happy reading!!!
As a collection this is only okay some of the books I found quite boring others were okay none were particularly exciting they were all fairly generic romances. I found a lot of the writing a little stiff and formal not stimulating in any way. An okay collection but nothing special.
Six different stories of men and women in uniform. The hardships and trials of everyday life that they go through, and the trouble finding love caused by the difficulties of the life they live .
The first four were good, not great but nice. The fifth one I felt like he should be called williamena. Awful. Wimp! The sixth was so bad(in my opinion) I couldn't finish it.
