Overcoming Evil in the Last Days is the radical Christian's handbook for uncovering and defeating the evil that pervades our culture. As the gates of hell unleash their fiendish fury against the soul of man, the Church must be prepared to defend and to attack. Joyner lifts the veil on this heartless horde, exposing the face of racism, witchcraft, and religious spirits, while making the challenge maintain our warrior stance against evil as we persist in our primary calling-worshipping and loving God.
Rick Joyner is the founder and executive director of MorningStar Ministries and Heritage International Ministries and is the Senior Pastor of MorningStar Fellowship Church. He is the author of more than forty books, including The Final Quest, A Prophetic History, and Church History. He is also the president of The Oak Initiative, an interdenominational movement that is mobilizing thousands of Christians to be engaged in the great issues of our times, being the salt and light that they are called to be. Rick and his wife, Julie, have five children: Anna, Aaryn, Amber, Ben, and Sam.
There is no faster way to lose battle against evil than to fight with the wrong weapons. Darkness expects us to fight back with darkness instead of fighting with the power of light. The Lord Jesus already taught us how to fight - to fight darkness with light. The devil cannot withstand a joyful spirit. Darkness fears only weapons of light such as love, joy, faith, humility, true worship, kindness and blessing instead of curse.
Great book to read as a beginner to learn about spiritual warfare. I'd use this as an introduction for a class on spiritual warfare and follow with others out there that are also very good. It's written in simple language for everybody to understand that we are in the last days and we have to be vigilant at all times.
Excellent explanations communicated with wisdom and grace, shared in the form of a love that builds readers up (rather than the knowledge that puffs up). I feel more equipped having read it... and appropriately humbled by a greater understanding of these truths.
