Reviews

By now, I have read enough Malladi books to know he has a very distinct way of telling stories. It is hard to explain exactly what it is, but it is something you feel while reading. The characters, the conversations, the little observations about people and life. There is a certain warmth and familiarity in his writing that I always enjoy.

This book was no different. In fact, it felt less like a detective novel and more like people searching for something they had lost. Love, closure, answers, or sometimes even themselves.

This is a detective novel, clearly inspired by Agatha Christie, who is even mentioned in the book. But unlike most detective stories that revolve around murder and crime, this one felt much more emotional. The story follows Chandra, who runs the Punnami Detective Agency and takes up cases where the motive is often love. Different people come to him with different stories, and watching how he untangles each one is what the book is all about.
